41  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Buying L3+s on: March 06, 2018, 04:12:30 AM
I have both L3+'s and S9's (with power supplies) for sale if you were interested. My price was actually $1300 (including power supplies) which is really close to what you're asking for. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3072702.0

I’ll do all 15 at $1,200.

How are they hashing? Any defects?

I’d be willing to use amazon or PayPal to protect myself for upfront payment.

Hoping to add some Litecoin mining to my farm. If you have used and working Litecoin (bitmain L3+s) miners you want to offload, I’m open to buying for no more than $1,200 each.

It is kind of scaring me that the March batch of Antminer A3's are not sold out yet.  Why are people not buying these when the Return on the Investment is soo much higher than any of the other miners being sold.  Using the mining calculator you supposedly can be in profit after 30 days or less.  I hope when the March orders come in that will still be the case or at least somewhere close to that vicinity.  I guess we will see.

Because prices of crypto is declining for weeks and the gold rush mentality is kinda gone. I like it, but after I read up on A3 with Obeliscs coming I would not touch them for that price. Ok I cant access the website most of the time anyway so it's more the "I don't sit in front of the computer and be frustrated reason"

but still, after the D3 and with hard forks lurking around that could ban A3 from the network people became a bit wiser I guess

A3 is sold out. My boss was about to buy one over the weekend but they are all sold out. Wonder how long it's going to be till the next batch... Anyone have ideas/opinions on timeline between batches?

No but the latest prices are posted but not yet made 'officially public':

What I find funny about that link is there is this one for less than half of that one. Not sure why there is 2 different prices for the same machine is beyond me..

https://shop.bitmain.com/productDetail.htm?pid=00020180129095202674bwQAJFdr06CB

The one for half the price was batch 2. This is batch 3

46  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain just announced the AntMiner A3 - 815GH/s Siacoin miner - Blake(2b) on: March 04, 2018, 11:27:18 PM
They chose Sia because the Dev team is a joke. They also knew they could crush the inside game of the "obelisk miners" and eventually capture this Protocol for themselves. Bitmain is well into AI and will need a Data Storage protocol. I believe Bitmain is actually praying that the Sia crew is stupid enough to fork this thing. Then Bitmain will crush them and keep their Sia for themselves. Bitmain is a very intelligent Company. Sia....not.

So I totally agree - but wondering how they can capture Sia for themselves? Like, isn’t sia a company and not necessarily a coin? This is where I get confused...Litecoin and Bitcoin are not companies but Sia has a company behind it, so how would that all work? I’m obviously very new to this so sorry...
47  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain just announced the AntMiner A3 - 815GH/s Siacoin miner - Blake(2b) on: March 04, 2018, 07:51:42 PM
For few days or maybe a week I'm trying to buy the A3 but it says that the miner A3 is sold out, maybe it was very fast the sale.

Based in some calculators it shows me that the profit within first month is around $10,556.49 ?? Is this true or just a fake advertisement that it has 800+Ghs or 800,000 Mhs?

I think that the most richest people in the world are the Bitmain employees and their bosses, because they are the first one which experiments with the mining rigs, they get the most of them, they run their miners in the very low harshrate difficulty making them earn more and faster.

The miner has been sold out since the first day it went on sale.  IMO one of the best ways to find out when a new miner will be listed is to follow Bitmain's twitter account and set your phone to notify you of all new tweets.  Those numbers though are based on current hashrate and difficulty (and more importantly, the coin's price).    That dollar figure will change daily.

By this it means that SIA coin will get very popular by the miners because the new generation of Antminers is making the buyers very rich in a very short period of time.

The estimated profit in dollars is very large but I think that the hashrate difficulty will increase too much which makes the other miners get a very low profit, In another article I've read that within a year or so another miner will be built which could generate larger amount of SIAs, maybe faster than the AntMiner A3. What could be the price of SIA in the upcoming months?

My question is: why did Bitmain pick Sia vs all the other coins? Do they have some inside information about its future success? All I see about Sia is the price plummeting and management representation on Reddit boards looking like a bunch of college kids who don't know what they're doing operationally.

I'm wondering if  Bitmain chose Sia because it was creating one of the only other mining platforms. They are effectively ruining the Obelisk's profit potential and knocking them out of the business.
48  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: New Antminer A3 price? on: March 04, 2018, 02:00:58 AM
One ships now, the other ships eventually...

I think the second URL points to their old pricing from a few months ago

49  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Why are people so negative about mining? Stop it... on: March 04, 2018, 01:31:21 AM
Those sold out a while ago.  There are NO $1000 A3's to be had that ship today.

That posting ships out in the future, not today ( if it were still available)

And that is batch 2.

Batch 1 went from $500/day to $100 in like 2 days, and is now down to $30.

Batch 2, (the link you point at) might not be as bad, but using those ratio's: $30/day down to about $1.80/day in a couple of months.

This is not free money, factor in electric cost, factor in difficulty rise, do all of the math and its not FUD.

LOL

These have not been sold out "for a while". They sold out 2-3 days ago...I bought 6 of them for that price

And that's not how it works mathematically re: the mining revenue. Sorry
50  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Why are people so negative about mining? Stop it... on: March 04, 2018, 01:04:32 AM
Cheapest ebay BIN A3 is $2200 + $200 for a PSU:https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_sacat=0&LH_BIN=1&_nkw=a3+miner&_sop=15

Bitmain is sold out.

Please post your link for a $1000 A3.

If you can find one at that price, and can get it quick, I would take the risk.

I'm suprised SIA is still making that.

52  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Why are people so negative about mining? Stop it... on: March 04, 2018, 12:41:00 AM

Please, just stop with this f.....g nonsense!!! Did you even realise that outside are parts of the world where you earn just 50dolars per months for a very hard work 16h per day 7days per week?
And You just getting a very good ammount of money almost for free!!!

Permonik:

You can't compare the income in a part of the world where $50 a month is a lot.

There are few people that would spend (or have) 3 years of income ($1750/$50 a month= 35 months) to buy an Asic.

If you make $50 a month you would be nuts to risk 3 years of income on an ASIC.

Dude - simple math...

ASIC A3 is making $30/day.

$30*30 = $900

Cost of 1 A3 - ~$1,000

Breakeven = 1 month

Say difficulty goes up and you only make $15/day...

$15*30 = $450
Cost of 1 A3 - ~$1,000

Breakeven = 2 months

I don't know what universe you live in but a 2 month B/E is hella good in the business world.
53  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain Antminer A3 earning $500 a day mining SIAcoin . .WHAT?! Results & Stats on: March 03, 2018, 07:52:55 PM
Mining now with an A3 sucks balls, 1500-1600 SC per day, $30 bucks basically. Hard to justify the price, hard to even reach break even.

One would need to really believe Siacoin will appreciate A LOT.

Hahaha $30 a day...boo hooo

55  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Antminer L3+ - What would you mine and why ? on: March 03, 2018, 03:06:36 PM
Depends on how many you have to play with. If you have a lot of them and want to take some risk mine some shitcoins. But if you want to play safe and dont really want to mess with changing coin just mine LTC. Some people jus mine what every is most profitable for the day and buy what ever coin they want to hodl.

Use ahashpool.com
56  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: March 03, 2018, 02:31:30 PM
Numbers are currently crazy since BTC is stagnating for almost 2 months after "yearly dip", and then "Chinese new year dip". Maybe numbers will change if price goes up. But difficulty increase is killing everything Sad

Ya man, takes at least a good 12 months to roi and by then the btc mined will not be able to pay for power in average home based mining.

Your entire post is 100% false

Just got 15 $200 coupons and 5 $100 coupons. Now I have a total of $5,514 in coupons, what do I do with them?

You can use ONE coupon PER miner (not sure if it counts for an A3 or not)

So...

you can get $200 bucks off 15 more L3+'s say and 5 more L3+'s at 100 bucks...

I myself have TWO $120 buck coupons from my 'dubious' TWO Bitmain D3 x11 miners.....I am planning on sitting on them (maybe forever) unless

bitmain releases some miners of 'any flavor' that makes more sense to get then HODL'ing crypto.

Damn hard, to get a Bitmain Miner of any flavor, looking at a 12-14 month ROI...if as you do such...say Nov/Dec 2017....Bitmain simply does not SHIP any units and mines
themselves....allowing all miners to pile up for march/april...

like when LTC went from  4.15 to 50 bucks and I could not get my miners last summer (L3+'s) for 6 weeks due to firmware upgrades (firmware arrived with Jan firmware dates)

AND THIS IS ON TOPIC for A3 in that with siacoin miners they have.....I expect the next rush of 'toaster city' to do the same as the D3....dubious (if not 1st batch) or ever

getting ROI...

Not a fan of Bitmain, as it changes the rules like from Jan to March 2018 ..hoards and runs miners..then releases them March/April

hopefully, not for the A3....you guys have enough troubles following in the footsteps of my 2 bitmain D3 x11 miners ....never to ROI...

rinse/wash/repeat

Stop spreading FUD, searing. You’re giving out biased information and  what you’re saying about the A3s breakeven is simply wrong. You can breakeven with antminers L3s and A3s in under 6-7 months...

with the stuff that is gonna hit in march/april for L3+'s that ain't gonna happen..and with the A3's that ain't gonna happen either when obelisk networks hit ..again for 1st batch A3's I'll give you that like first batch D3's...they have/will likely roi...but as to the A3 it is still gonna be toaster city with bitmain and as such will be like x11 coin prices...only all concentrated on 1 coin..
or again IMHO...

but myself, you are ONLY going to be correct, IF in the case of L3+'s and LTC goes to 300 usd...at that piont, IMHO, you will make what I make now on an L3...which will not ROI

with the stuff bitmian has for scrypt-pow hitting the world....at 400 LTC you will be correct and golden..this with scrypt-pow to hit the world in march/april

but this is not the kinda hope you plan for on 12-14 month ROI...and also remember in the past on sudden price hikes bitmain cancels your order and mines your equipment and

says firmware error and either holds or you re-order later after they mine for 6-8 weeks (or by the time you get the stuff)....(2x that has happened in the past on their scrypt-pow miners)

It is to my advantage that YOU are correct....in that I have equipment...it is NOT to my advantage to plan on under 12-14 month ROI with the above AND  the hope of a price pump

on LTC to boot..and of that they don't pop out A3's like they did D3's like toasters....and do you really think they are NOT going to announce in about may/june better equip for aug/sept?

anyway, how I come to my conclusions...we will see after april with the diff rise for scrypt-pow and such who is correct....but the odds from bitmain's past behavior imho

is not good for ROI planning AT THIS POINT IN TIME WITH THIS GENERATION OF EQUIPMENT...to figure on 12-14 months ROI as a given....especially not 6-8 months...

it is just not HOW bitmain rolls, there is always another shoe to fall with these guys...

There’s always a buyer and seller in every transaction I suppose Wink we will see

59  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Miners profit monitoring/projection tools on: February 26, 2018, 09:45:31 PM
Hi o/

I am interested in a tool/site/app for my miners that allows me to:
1. Monitor current profit/time
2. Project earnings (EG: btc|$/day)

As of now, I am mining in ahashpool. So the tool should speak its API (http://www.ahashpool.com/api/)
I am tempted to store performance data in a time series database and build a dashboard on top of it (grafana...). But since I only have 1 miner at the time, it might a bit of an overkill.

Also, I am sure that this is a very immediate need anyone mining should have, so.. what can you guys suggest?

Thanks Smiley

Awesome Miner can give you daily, monthly projections from ahashpool, nicehash, miningpoolhub, zpool, hashrefinery, or your own custom group of pools for individual coins (or services).  It can even profit-switch for you on those services.

If you have a Antminer L3+, can you use it for ahashpool? I'm trying to figure out how you connect the miner to the pool.

Awesome Miner looks like a great piece of software but I have a Mac. I'm thinking of setting it up on my home Windows desktop....

You'll be able to use your L3+ on Ahashpool.

If you're mining Scrypt, you just take this: stratum+tcp://<ALGO>.mine.ahashpool.com:<PORT>
and change it to this: stratum+tcp://scrypt.mine.ahashpool.com:3433

For username, input your BTC address and for password anything works. I assume you know how to apply these settings already.

If you're using any other algos on Ahash in the future just take the abbreviations under Pool Status and the corresponding port next to it and you'll be set.

That's simple enough...thank you! And just to confirm, the algo switches between the most profitable Script coins for you...you don't have to go in and adjust it, right? Set it and forget it kind of deal?
