Let's buy some more!  Wink

I'm not here to talk about the price, but to sustain these levels only 300 dollars a day must flow in. Thats peanuts.
You are the advertisement that Viacoin needs. Promote it in your own environment. Try to think about making a businesscase for an app/services/etc for example to put on the blockchain of Viacoin. Talk about it with your relations. This is the way to advertise and make people interested in Cryptocurrency.

Yes, I have to agree with you on this. Unfortunately most people in my environment are not interested in crypto currency at all, but hey maybe I'm in the wrong environment.
I have a 30+ years experience in coding C and C++, I've really been thinking about developing something for VIA or crypto in general, but coding alone is not enough, you need other expertise to develop something useful, and like most people I have other obligations to adhere to.

I guess some of these large Chinese LTC mining pools are merge mining VIA and dumping their stash each day on the exchanges.

Cannot be more than 18000 coins a day (3600 blocks x 5 coins) though

True, but that is enough to let the value collapse when there is less demand.
I didn't examine the blockchain though, it is possible that it was a bigger investor dumping.
Lets hope that VIA will recover, I truly believe in this coin but it certainly needs better advertisement.

If Steve Jobs himself was dumping Apple stocks on the market, would that give shareholders confidence in holding their Apple shares?
He did, and it didn't.

Oh yeah... He did when he left Apple. Then look what happened, the stock went down.  In VIA 's case, price is falling regardless of who is dumping.

I really hope this project turns around though.

When threads turn into price discussions, it is usually the death of a coin. Price of VIA will fall until a big promoter picks it up for peanuts. I would buy more, but only at around 1/10 of todays price. At 500sat a big quantity would be a good punt.
+1
better sell now before you sell at 1000 satoshi. it's all about cutting losses. 50% loss is better then 90% loss ...

I am not a seller. I will hold either for success or 0. I just would be prepared to buy and risk a little more at a lower level.

Either VIA will be widely adopted as an alternative blockchain, or it will slowly fade.

As long as the devs are working to improve the technicals, lower prices are irrelevant. Fact : There will be owners for every single unit of VIA when it becomes either more valuable than BTC, or becomes 1sat. I want to be one of those people, either way.

I agree with you on this. I bought a lot of VIA when the value was about nine times higher as at present, this was my own decision.
There is no use in dumping it now, I will hold till it either goes to zero or gets the value it IMHO should have.

What on earth is wrong with that MrCoins guy? This must be the biggest idiot in existence.

https://hashtalk.org/topic/33171/hacker-s-prove-gaw-is-not-a-scam

He's not so much an idiot as he is the the one buying up all the coins that everyone else is selling, sometimes thousands at a time  He's in it for the money he can make - and doesn't care if it's a scam.  It's in his best interest to keep things running.  And, he does this willingly, even knowing that it's a scam, meaning he's just as much a part of the whole scam as Garza is, maybe even more so.

This will only work if he can sell all these coins later on for hard cash, in light of the current events that doesn't seem very likely.
At least I can't imagine that there are many people wanting to buy this crapcoin.

This doesn't surprise me at all, all the crap coming out of his mouth last night, I guess he was high on PCP or something.
It is incredible that there are people still buying all this shit, at least it is something that I can't comprehend.
49  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: GAW Miners Paybase Paycoin unofficial uncensored discussion.ALWAYS MAKE MONEY :) on: February 26, 2015, 03:55:42 PM
But one thing is sure - if i lost 0.3 Million i would have 1000$ left for a flight to visit them personally.

Even when i go home empty handed, at least i TRIED.

Starring at the Screen , writing support tickets and just hope won´t bring that guys 0.3 Million $ back or any other people who list big amounts of money - i think.

And Lawyners - just forget it - just more money burned.

I can understand what you mean. There is no need to threaten his wife or kids but when you lost something like $300k on this debacle you would certainly like to use some thumbscrews on the bastard.
It amazes me that people losing that kind amount keep so quiet about it, maybe they are just lying about the amount they lost.
You have to take everything you read on the internet with a grain of salt.

Another attempt to pump this shitcoin:

Garza wants to dump another pile of this crap, he desperately needs money.

a lot of silence and the usual bct fudders coming to this thread.

Its a good time to buy now  Cheesy

Maybe, maybe not. I'm thinking about buying some more, but first I would like to see some movement.
52  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [VIA] ★ Viacoin ★ ~ the future of digital currency ~ ★ on: February 13, 2015, 08:08:55 AM
This is NOT looking good. Not looking good at all.
Including the link to that guy's (top investor) wallet, which is a broken link...

Did I say NOT looking good at all?

The link is broken because that particular block explorer does not seem to exist anymore.
The investor is still on board: https://chainz.cryptoid.info/via/address.dws?VvFp7K6JH2tpEdCWDqKoZSHYFPzCYpQHRE.htm

I agree that there is a lot of silence lately, I've invested something like $8k in this coin, although this ain't much I still would like to know what is going on.

Mr. Ganza is not very happy with the latest coindesk article!

No write up when we gave away free hashing power, double payouts, launched a free exchange or any of the awesome community projects going on.

But an article mention over a missed speech....... and an entire story about a single customer (with a company that services thousands) that is without service for a completely unrelated industry.

Wonder what a person, just thinking about trying crypto, thinks when they see stuff like that.

Are we really that interesting? Are there really those that would willing attempt damage a community, a coin or the industry? Just for 15 minutes of fame or a few clicks?

When I read stuff like this, I am grateful for those that have been here all along, slowly pushing the ball forward, despite those that pull it back. It's because of you, this industry has a chance.

So I just want to thank those of you that fight for, not just us, but the industry as a whole.

PS the silver lining is at least the Great Auk guys know there is a service issue that needs to be addressed.

https://hashtalk.org/topic/31167/how-far-will-they-go

I doubt whether this is written by Garza because he is not able to write something comprehensive and understandable.

This reply from solid72 is spot on:

well, in a way, CEO, you are now reaping what you used to sow: your aggressive stance against the whole industry (remember the KNC challenge), the full-mouthed promises (always profitable, own for a lifetime, when just this week, mining was shut down, not to mention the 20$ promise and before that, the Prime Buyback that did not happen as announced, etc, etc) left you in a vulnerable state and now, for those you challenged, it's payback time.

Are you really surprised?

They can't get their coins out of the expired cashtakers, what a joke.

Very interesting thread at HT.

https://hashtalk.org/topic/30567

Rootdude wants to release a letter he got from Garza, Garza seems to be shitting his pants over it.

rootdude

Calling out The19

I'm getting as many of The19 Paycoin Origin members as possible to hit me up - I think it's time we stopped taking it up the ass from Josh and the HT community. More than a month ago now, myself and four other senior members of the HT community and Origin members sent Josh an email outlining the problems he was creating with Paycoin. His response to me was dismissive and spoke volumes - well, I'm going to make the letter and the response public. I would like to show The19 the letter and allow them to sign it (after the fact, of course) in a show of solidarity. If you are an Origin Member, or know one and how to get in touch with him or her, please PM me and I'll connect with you via email to send you a copy of the letter to review. I think it's time we reveal the damage Josh has done to the community and to Paycoin with his disregard for the health and welfare of Paycoin.

I was perfectly happy sitting on the sidelines and not thinking much about this anymore, but I will not allow the challenges to the people who helped develop Paycoin and put it on the map to go unchallenged. We also need to decide how to get this in front of people's eyes - I had thought about posting it myself, but perhaps it'd be better to present this to various news outlets and reporters to allow all of the news outlets to decide to carry it or not. We'll decide together how best to present it.

Feels like we are in the school yard again......

I ask the members here to not engage. This kind of stuff is damaging to the community and paycoin as a whole.

Move on, or contribute in a way that helps paycoin

Yeah, Garza is talking about changes to the coin, so they will Fork it GOOOOD! Or destroy it completely.

We are not only focused on just features, but the business model as a whole.

We are preparing to launch a massive merchant campaign, updates to PayBase, and updates to Paycoin itself.

Strange thing is I don't see these addresses in the rich list, maybe that list is not updated very often?

I do agree that the recent BTC price plummet has caused GAW more trouble than they had expected.
I believe it fundamentally undermined their ability to payout and it possibly still does.

Garza had a warehouse full of these power hungry Zeus miners, I think he was mainly mining scrypt (LTC) and dumped that for BTC to pay his Hashlet customers.
LTC went down even faster than BTC and his Zeus miners became obsolete within a few months.
He must have been desperate, that is why he came up with the brilliant plan to let his victims mine hashpoints.
