41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [QRK] Quark | Super secure hashing | CPU mining | No pre-mine on: February 28, 2014, 04:37:47 PM
Quark had so much promise, what has happened? It continues to fall in demand and price, anything significant on the horizons to look forward to?

Guys why are you bothering with these calculations when we are hashing at under half a gh/share still at this date? It's nice to see that we are hashing with at least something but have I missed something here? Has anyone addressed the issue of compensation seeing that we are well past mid feb or are we just happy with what we get now?
The 20% insurance sure would improve the forecast Smiley
44  Economy / Securities / Re: [QUINTO] IPO on cryptostocks on: February 19, 2014, 04:01:32 PM
This scam and its sockpuppetry is so obvious it's painful.
The fact that scammers still do this is because, sadly, it works.

It isn't working as well as they have in the past, seems investors are wising up, less than 1,000 shares bought out of over 4 million during the first 10 days.
45  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: FAS - Shares Auction Results / Fasbit Reputation page on: February 16, 2014, 08:21:53 PM
As one of the Round 1 winners,  I would like to say thank you to Fasbit for having such a great cross-promotional idea between his two unique projects. The transaction was smooth and I am a happy bidder/winner/miner/shareholder.

Tip: If you wait for the last possible second, when you click submit you may get one of those annoying "another message was posted while you were typing" messages which may prevent you from actually posting before the deadline. I had to click multiple times in the final ten seconds before my post went through.

So, does anyone got an idea on what the "middle of the month" date will be for the 3.45 increase threshold? Also, if peta mine exceeds this date and still does not start up will there be another 20% increase and will any of you wait any longer or sell off? (Thoughts/opinions Accepted)
It was the 15th of last month, but when it was annouced it was obvious that nothing was imminent

We should have a little pool to see who can guess the day we start hashing it out.

I guess February 17

Any guesstimates: If mining started on February 1 and the additional power was added as expected in a month or so, what amount of dividends are we looking at by the time mining is finished relative to the .05 per share?
50  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum: 2nd gen cryptocurrency with contract programming, "dagger" hashing on: January 14, 2014, 04:26:48 PM
This sure sounds like it could be the next big thing, looking forward to learning more. How did you arrive at the IPO price of 1 ether = .0001 BTC?
51  Economy / Securities / Re: [HAVELOCK] PETAMINE 166 TH/s on: January 11, 2014, 02:45:15 AM
This is going to be great when it goes off, those remaining shares will be gone overnight.

Is there still a 20% added mining compensation for starting late, and on what date does that come into play or is it roughly middle of the month?

Anything about Dividend of Dec?
I hope you don't have a net lost in the second half of Dec.

There will be a dividend for December! We are finalizing the December report and will have it posted on Havelock, along with the dividend by close of business Friday 1/3/2014

That is good news

Boinc

Are you mining with guiminer or cgminer?

I started using the world community grid several days ago, but do not understand the relationship between Points and/or Results relates to Gridcoins earned. Looking at my statistics I see I have 13,000 points generated and 13 points, can someone help me understand? thanks

msc, thanks for taking the time to explain that to me.

I got the multibit from the bitcoin.org site, now I just went back there and see there are several wallet options they recommend like the Bitcoin-QT and the Armory. Which out of these three do you recommend for setting up cold storage, backup and occasional transactions that I can just go with with ease and feel confident with.

This is the problem with the newbie section, I have a real question but posting it here is out of place and it will be more luck than anything else that someone who knows the answer will find it in the newbie section. Soon enough it will be off the newbie section front page and will never get answered.

I can't wait till I am no longer a newbie, until then its hangout in newbie forum time
