41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: doge gpu mining on: December 15, 2013, 09:53:10 PM
Manian3rd - thanks for the link.

Misterm- i am a noob also, but buy and trade btc, or mine an alt coin. All have the risk of a fail.
I suggest not spending lots of money on hardware though, thats a big money game.

To mine doge, download minerd, make an account at a pool, then make a config.bat file for minerd with your login and worker and password.get dogecoin-qt and run to get wallet.

Slow and possibly useless, but thats how I did it.

Ok, I started cpu mining dogecoin, and I wonder if it would make any sense to go  buy a radeon5450 at frys for 34.99, and put into an optiplex755 I have unused??

Anyone do gpu mining here for dogecoin?

Currently at 2Kh/s with my dell laptop. Dug 50 doge in 6 hours.

Some is better than none!

Hmm,
Say you had 10btc bought for 500usd, so 5k then sold 5btc@1100,
Now you have your investment back +500 +5btc.
Then you buy 3btc@800, investing 1900 total for 8btc.

That sounds like you will make money, even if you bailout at 1000/btc  = 8000 $ to your 1900 investment.
Makes me want to trade some myself.

But also has its associated risks.
I amJust a noob, don't take as anything to serious

Good luck!

Hello to you.
I am new here also, but have been reading up for almost two weeks.

Do you plan to mine? Or trade Btc? Or??

I think that I might try some small trades, but don't want too much risk...

-Cheers

I also feel like I missed the boat.
My good friend has had servers at his disposal for years. I told him the other day that we could have been millionares by now.

Oh, well though better late than never.
I was looking at the market 6weeks ago when btc=650 $, then i went on a 10 day vacation and the price doubled!!
I should have bought 1-2K wworth but didnt want to risk too much.  Gotta be in the game to win.
