41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum TO $400 AGAIN on: March 05, 2018, 07:21:16 AM

lol
before you really believe the news you have read, you should try to examine the truth of the news. you should examine and analyze the effects and other effects on eth development.
I do not think like that, because I believe the eth has more potential than the altcoin that has spread.

The truth is I lost over $7000 in Ethereum, and this in just 4 months! What kind of analysis do you want me to examine when I read such news about ethereum? Wasn't there enough for this the real loss that I have with ethereum?

42  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum TO $400 AGAIN on: March 05, 2018, 06:43:19 AM
I read some news that Ethereum will get back to 400 dollars.

Do you think these rumors are real? I tend to think yes and I think this will happen soon.

To be well understood, I believe in Ethereum's potential and I still believe that by the end of 2018 it will have an increase of thousands of dollars, but at the same time I feel that it will drop much more than it is now before starting the growth again.

This is purely a sort of nonsense blah blah blah. Why don't you try to support your speculation with a good analysis and reasoning? There is nothing we can get out of this post actually. And for now, I don't see any big reason at all, even a small one, why Ethereum's price will suddenly go back to $400. Ethereum is already more than $850 right now and, on the contrary, I believe it is still growing higher. It has already been through the dumping season.

Why are you so sure of what you're saying? I support my "speculation" following the fact that Ethereum has brought me a loss of over $7000 USD, and this in just 4 months! And when I read these news do not believe? And yet I still believe in Ethereum potential, but that does not mean that there is no falling possibility that I have presented here as a result of rumors from other sources.

43  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coins brought you massive losses? on: March 05, 2018, 05:48:15 AM
Well, I think you are not quite right , if you do not sell them the losses you brought . Since the new year the market was in correction of many of the coins were in decline , so you should wait the recovery of the market and sell at the best price . This opportunity is sure to be

So you're saying that waiting for almost 4 months to see if a coin is good for a short-term investment wasn't enough?
44  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Ethereum TO $400 AGAIN on: March 05, 2018, 05:33:07 AM
I read some news that Ethereum will get back to 400 dollars.

Do you think these rumors are real? I tend to think yes and I think this will happen soon.

To be well understood, I believe in Ethereum's potential (even though so far I have lost money investing in Ethereum, but I notice that it is still a good project and this will makes it to explode one day) and I still believe that by the end of 2018 it will have an increase of thousands of dollars, but at the same time I feel that it will drop much more than it is now before starting the growth again.

So, as you can see, it wasn't just some rumors, it was rather a forecast that turned out to be more than real !! Smiley And this has already happened until 30 March 2018.

Do you want to release a new forecast for Ethereum for the next 2 months? Smiley I would gladly accept the challenge and say it will be under $200.

Dear bitcoin community,

Because there are no gains without losses, I decided to open this thread in the hope that I could also learn from your mistakes when you chose the wrong coins in which to invest your money.

For example, I invested in December 2017 and I lost my money in following coins:

Bitcoin
Ethereum
Ripple
Bitcoin Cash
Dogecoin
IOTA
NEM

The only coin that brought me profit was NEO.

But what about you? What are the coins in which you lost your money?
46  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Monero a Good Investment? on: March 05, 2018, 04:10:03 AM
Thank you all for your encouragement! These encouragement will determine my final decision to invest in Monero or not.
47  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Monero a Good Investment? on: March 05, 2018, 03:42:40 AM
Of course Monero is a good investment Smiley. For now, people prefer to use Monero to pay for their deal than BTC cause it's much more secure than BTC and it's totally anonymous. Beside it's one out of top 10 cryptocurrency on the coinmarketcap with very high price and trading volume so I think there is no doubt about that Monero is a good choice to invest in Smiley

Thank you for your advice. I already have much stronger beliefs now that Monero is a good deal!
48  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Monero a Good Investment? on: March 05, 2018, 02:35:54 AM
I see so much support for Monero. This means that this coin really has a solid future and I was not wrong.
49  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Monero a Good Investment? on: March 04, 2018, 05:36:02 PM
Monero is indeed giving us the anonimity and privacy that we wanted to,but if you are looking for a good investment that will grow x1000 or more it wont be monero because now XMR is very expensive and we can say it is on its prime days, that is why we should look for the new privacy coins or atleast some altcoins that has a lot of potential to grow,do your own thing research further and then you will find these coins.

You've guessed my thoughts exactly! And I'm convinced you're right. Thanks for your very friendly advice!
50  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Monero a Good Investment? on: March 04, 2018, 05:07:18 PM
Definitely one of the good privacy coins to own. Privacy coins will be big this year.

Coinbase handing over their records to IRAS must have scared lots of investors as well.

I am sure people will try to move their wealth into privacy coins this year. Demand for privacy coins will go up a lot this year.

And I am sure Monero will be one of the beneficiary and gain in value!

That would be great!
51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can Ledger Nano S be Hacked when is connected to PC with internet? on: March 04, 2018, 04:53:15 PM
No, Nano ledger cannot be hacked nor your private keys are leaked when you are connected to the internet on your PC. Even if your computer is compromised with malware still your nano ledger won't be affected by it because the contents of a secure element "a secure chip" storing seeds/keys cannot be extracted. But recently MITM(man-in-the-middle) attack) vulnerability was discovered where an attacker replaces the coin receiving address of yours with him through a malware altering the code that is responsible for generating the address. To mitigate the attack you always should verify the address showing on your computer screen when you generated the address for receiving coin is same as that is displayed on you hardware wallet display. And as you said you have stored your seeds in USB, I recommend remove it from there and just store in an offline place like anyplace in your home, since you connect your USB to an online computer so a malware can steal it.

Thank you deevan! I will take this very seriously!
52  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH TO $ 5000 on: March 04, 2018, 04:45:23 PM
Yes, I think before the end of the year (2018) ethereum will go up to $5000 USD very easy.
53  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you believe in Dogecoin future? on: March 04, 2018, 04:38:50 PM
Yes, I believe in Dogecoin future. I also bought 10,000 of Dogecoin. I just hope I will make a good profit in a year.
54  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can Ledger Nano S be Hacked when is connected to PC with internet? on: March 04, 2018, 04:29:17 PM
Dear bitcoin community,

First of all, I want to thank you very much for your effort in helping the new crypto investors to better understand this great phenomenon.

I also bring into discussion the security of Ledger Nano S because I deposit all my crypto coins on my Ledger Nano S that I bought from the official website.

So, can Ledger Nano S be hacked when is connected to PC with internet?

I guess it's pretty safe and should not be hacked so easy.

I must also mention that I keep my 24 words passphrase in a text document on a stick that is almost always connected to my personal computer which is also in turn connected to the internet.

Can this be a risk Huh

Thanks to everyone who contributes to this thread in helping me better understand the maximum safety limit of Ledger Nano S.

Of course, first of all you need do not connect to internet. Use internet for hardware wallets only when you want to spend crypto.

That's right! That's exactly what I do.
55  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can Ledger Nano S be Hacked when is connected to PC with internet? on: March 04, 2018, 04:20:17 PM
if you want to sent assets with ledger nano s, you need to confirm the transactions with the button in ledger nano s
so, this hardware wallet is secure my friend
In fact that ledger nano is not secure as trezor, Trezor has a better security and that's why i was migrating from ledger to the trezor. I have seen so many case about ledger  nano being exploited and the amount has been stolen by the hacker. Don't tell me if this hardware wallet (ledger) is secure again. Trezor has some layers on its security. But to connect everything to the internet will be involved a high risk.

Both are secure.
Just check the receiver address and amount before confirming the transaction.
Can't see any advantage of the Trezor in comparison to the Ledger Nano S.
Always connecting your hardware-wallet to a PC with internet access may not be really necessary and should be prevented but it shouldn't cause any problems though.
The real problem was the USB stick containing the recovery phrase but the OP already noticed.

By the way: Also don't store any unencrypted private keys on your computer!

But even if the recovery phrase is on a USB stick, my USB stick is loaded with 15 GB of photoshop files and other code-related stuff because I'm a web designer, and this recovery phrase information is written in a text document that has a name like "newdoc178". So, do you still think the risk is as high? I think it's hard enough for any virus to find hidden information in such a text document.

Hi,

Connecting the Ledger shouldn't be any problem (that's the point of using a hardware-wallet).
However storing your 24 word phrase unencrypted on a device with internet-access is not a good idea - this just renders the hardware-wallet useless as this phrase can be used to access your wallet without any password and malware could access your usb drive without any problems.
In general you should only write down your 24 word phrase on the included card and store the card safely (DO NOT LOSE IT!).
If you're storing big equivalents of money you could additionally memorize the phrase (24 words shouldn't be that hard).

In this case, I will write my 24 word phrase on the paper and I will delete this information from the USB stick. Thank you very much for your answer!

What do you mean when you said "But could be a year or two away still."? If you mean to expect to grow, there is no problem, I can wait up to 2 years.

Thank you Tidsdilatation for your opinion! This will definitely help in my final decision about investing in Monero or not, because the opinion of other cryptocurrency investors is important to me.
Just don't listen to others too much Wink do your own research and argue with yourself before making any decision regarding crypto. It's easy getting caught in the moment!

Thank you very much for your nice advice, Tidsdilatation. I will also take into account your friendly advice!

Is monero a good investment ?I strongly agree with this title, Monero is currently the 11 most popular crypto currency by Market Cap, Total Market Capitalization, of the current 1320 types of crypto currency. Monero price in early 2017 is only about $ 8.42, then during the year 2017 the highest price that can be achieved by Monero is $ 208. Percentage, during the period of 11 months ago, Monero has posted a growth of 2,600% or 26-fold from price beginning of year.dan now at the beginning of the year of 2018 right of this 3 month monero price reach $ 347, and already rising order enter into top 10 of all coins that exist today, if you want to in monero then do and do not prepare time you to think for a long time.

Thank you very much for this advice, crestella. I'll do that soon!
