To some extent we can say Bitcoin is already a world currency now because people all over the world can buy/sell/invest Bitcoin freely.
But if Bitcoin to be used as world currency like USD, I think it is still too early. The progress of decentralization will resist by the power of centralization(government). This is political issue.

I am complete noob in crypto. I need to know what is a blockchain? How to use it and what if it goes offline? What affects it will occur on bitcoin.
I have tried understanding it but it looks very complex There may be a simpler way to understand it guys

the reason why Bitcoin needs to be talked about: The first reason is that with blockchain technology being born with Bitcoin, it can be said that without Bitcoin, blockchain technology may be much later. Many years may or may not happen. Second, Bitcoin is the most successful and most mature example of industrialization of blockchain technology. Of course, it is not suitable for all scenarios because it is only a digital currency type. Public chain I really agree about your point. Maybe Bitcoin is not a perfect cryptocurrency, but it should be the first practical product of blockchain. And, "technology always comes from human nature", most people always want to earn big money in short time, so the blockchain technology advances faster and faster! |

Yes, we really should focus more on Blockchain technology. Some people already said something similar. Maybe Bitcoin will disappear after 20 years, but blockchain will stay.
Now many people focus more on cryptocurrency just because they want make big money in short time.....but this is just nature of common people.

The question however is, can blockchain succeed without bitcoin? >>> Of course yes.
Bitcoin is so famous because it is the first crypto-currency, but it is just a product/application of blockchain technology.
You can say blockchain is mother and Bitcoin is child. Without child mother of course can still survive.
Bitcoin is just Bitcoin, but with blockchain people can create more coins in the future.

Yea, Bitcoin cannot be a global currency because its goal is to overturn the financial system of current world. The resistance is really strong.
But if Bitcoin is "centralized" in the future, maybe it can be a global currency.

Very simple. They can't get tax from Bitcoin, so they ban Bitcoin.
Government will ban anything which can make high profit but without taxes.

I believe Bitcoin is new hope for "some people" because they earn much with Bitcoin. Their lives changed far better.
I also know some people had worse lives because they lost money in Bitcoin.
I would rather to say "blockchain" will be the new hope for humanity because it will change some rules in our lives, for example Fintech and Food Safety.
