41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Cannacoin (CCN) | PoW->PoSV | No premine | No IPO on: November 14, 2016, 07:47:04 PM
the only ultimate goal for this coin is to be accepted for weed =)

Plenty of cannabis product transactions have been made in Oregon and Washington using Cannacoin.  No central authority is here to dictate how or when people should use Cannacoin, or Bitcoin, for that matter.

If you are talking about a retail store accepting Cannacoin for cannabis purchases, that is another story.

Ultimately, due to Cannacoin's POSV nature, ultra low inflation and ultra low coinage, I think it would make a great network for gift card issuance, so cards could be loaded with Cannacoin by the retail establishment and then spent at said retail store without a customer ever having to think about how to do a cryptocurrency transaction.

In fact, one of SubCreative's first projects was to experiment with loaded Cannacards.  At this point though, everything is open-sourced and ready for whomever would like to utilize this very robust and developed network.
42  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Cannacoin (CCN) | PoW->PoSV | No premine | No IPO on: November 10, 2016, 05:55:29 AM

are there any ongoing developments on the coin code ?

There's really no need to.  SubCreative can fork in new developments from Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies if necessary, and anyone can do a pull request.  There's really no need to change anything at the moment, this coin works great and is stable.  The coin issuance and the inflation schedule are pretty much perfect.  It is super cheap to run a good validation (staking) node right now.

^ Really great job on the site 8-bit, super clean and up-to-date.  ^

Hi all, the original post has been updated with more information. Will continue to update this but the roadmap and some common questions on Zcash vs Zcoin are all there now.

Roadmap here: https://github.com/zcoinofficial/zcoin/wiki/Roadmap

-----------------------------------------------------

Fixed reindex and implemented MTP ( 4 - 5 months )

Reindex Issue - Done

Implement MTP: Merkle-tree based Proof-of-Work

Paper: https://arxiv.org/pdf/1606.03588v1.pdf

We believe MTP is the way to prevent botnets from mining while allowing normal legitimate CPUs to perform proof of work. On the verification end, it will take less time to process compared with finding proof. It is better than Equihash in term of verification speed following the below table, excerpt from https://www.usenix.org/system/files/conference/usenixsecurity16/sec16_paper_biryukov.pdf

Update Code Base to Bitcoin Core Latest Version 1 - 2 months

Implementing TOR and i2p on wallet clients 1 - 2 months

Further performance improvements to Zerocoin 2 - 4 months

Currently, our implementation doesn't do parallel verification on Zerocoin spend transactions. Once implemented, Zerocoin spend transactions can be sped up and there can be more than one spending transaction per block.

Implementing trustless setup in Zerocoin Protocol 6 - 12 months

Based on an academic paper, it may be possible to implement the Zerocoin protocol without a trusted setup phase. We will do further research into this, and will implement it if it is possible.

Distributed Market - If no darkmarkets accept ZCoin at that time 6 - 12 months

Hello all. I bought some Zcoin, so I thoght I'd find out a bit more. Smiley
Coinmarket cap says 264,000 coins.

How many will there be in total?

Did the devs premine some? (I hope so). Was there an ICO?

Thanks for any help

Zcash will probably be overpriced out the gate.  I wonder if XZC price will rise as the inflation % rate slows.  Hard to say
47  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Zcoin - The Zerocoin cryptocurrency, guaranteeing financial privacy on: October 21, 2016, 02:16:06 PM
So a little off-topic,

Why is this whole ZCASH craze all of a sudden?

Is it because it was mentioned during Dev con 2 and people think its like Ethereum 2.0 ?
Or is it because its suppose to replace DASH/XMR for the dark coin markets with its Zero proof technology?

Because its really nuts how popular Zcoin has gotten and how people are going bonkers of ZCASH cloud mining.

I guess people like that fact that Zcash uses professional audit services for accountability of their platform.

I wonder how many zcoins Roger Ver has received so far for his part in this shady business

does anyone have a link to more detailed mining information? I want to know what the total supply is going to be and what the emission schedule is.

emission schedule is same as BTC, 21 million coins, 50 @ 10mins for 4 years, etc.  difference is 10 coins per block go to developer wallets

Cpu-pool how long does it take to get confirmed amount?

it would take at least 100 confirmations before coinbase is mature to spend by pool ~ 16.7 hours https://github.com/zcoinofficial/zcoin/blob/master/src/main.h#L64

I think you can withdraw after 120 confs on cpu pool

Is there any news on possible listing of zcoin on bittrex? volume on nova is big enough compared to other coins listed there. I have a hunch it will be this week.. Smiley

Who knows.  The database re-indexing issue is problematic, as well as reports of tx getting "stuck" or just taking an inordinate amount of time to get into a block.  Also apparently zcoin will be hardforking again to new hashing algo possibly due to GPU miners already overtaking hashrate w/ private mining software.  Looking forward to seeing where Zcoin goes, but a little more transparency into where and who these founders rewards go to would be nice.  I'm happy for all the miners who have made a good profit on Zcoin, but it just seems like Zcoin was ninja launched with some major bugs.

We are still testing pool stability on Nxspool.com

I will give an update once Cestballot db will be implemented.

Congratulations on successful beta launch
57  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Mass Network on: October 16, 2016, 12:01:39 AM
When we will can see our Mass coins estimated value?

After ico, there are 7 weeks remain, so stay tuned.

In ICONOMI's ICO I was able to see my estimated tokens quantity.

Actually, this is a good idea just to divide the coins out publicly, dynamically.  The only bad thing is that gives away the number of investors involved.

This deposit has not been confirmed by the XZC network.  Info you provided shows 0/2 confirmations and it does not appear to have made it onto the network at the time you created this ticket and it also can not be found on the official XZC block explorer https://zcoin.rocks/chain/ZCoin  Once the transaction has 2 confirmations it will be available in your Cryptopia account. Please note that Network confirmations are out side of Cryptopias control.  MrFloppy Cryptopia Team

Hello,

Your transaction has been sent but not yet included into a block and being confirmed. We have noticed that sometimes Zcoin is very slow in including the transactions in blocks.

Here is query result directly from our daemon; where you can see it has been sent.

p.s.
transaction took place in the block 3021, protracted delay

Withdrawing from one exchange to another is historically a bad idea because technically you don't control either key in the transaction, and you are entirely at the whim of exchange operators.  The Cryptopia guys are solid though.

Mass Network was one of the most genial projects I've seen.
But I can't invest in ICO because I can't get my BTC address. I don't want use 3rd party wallets!

It's really easy.  You make an account and then will generate a payment address to send BTC to. https://ico.mass.network/#/
60  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Mass Network on: October 12, 2016, 01:44:20 AM
The best ICOs to invest give a Bitcoin address for user deposit, and it is cold stored by the service.

Mass ICO wallets are cold stored, if I understand what you mean.

Then, where is my Bitcoin address for I send the funds?
I think now you understand.

It's still in the same exact address you sent it to.  The funds stay in the address you sent them to until ICO is complete, I assume.
