I got wrecked.
42  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH is recovering? on: September 13, 2018, 06:59:25 PM
This looks to be the start of a new bull run, I would pick up cheap altcoins before its too late.  You dont want to be the one that regrets not buying more coins when the prices were cheap.
43  Economy / Economics / Re: stupidity is so close to poverty on: September 13, 2018, 06:56:23 PM
Its quite different in my  life, I know many wealthy people are not very intelligent but they just got lucky.  On the flip side I know many poor people that are writers or artists but they live in poverty.
44  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin dominance record on: September 12, 2018, 05:10:01 PM
It seems like bitcoin's dominance tends to pick up during the bear market but when its a bull market the alts start to lose dominance.  I also think once we see more alt-fiat gateways btc's dominance may fall further.
45  Economy / Economics / Re: People are not motivated by money. on: September 12, 2018, 05:04:59 PM
I don't know if I fully agree with this.  I think a lot of inventors are looking to get rich and not just to advance technology--history is full of people like that.  Fame and recognition also are factors, but money is a huge motivating factor for a lot of people.  I'd also point out that great advancements in tech or anything else generally make a LOT of money for whoever ends up buying whatever it is we're talking about, a patent, a device, whatever.

Economists would also have a field day with OP's argument, as they tend to think solely in economic terms.  I don't think everyone is motivated by money but you can't deny the importance of it.

Great points, everyone is different though.

The private sector isn't willing to take the gigantic risks for research and development that the government programs take like NASA.  Without these government programs we would be really far behind in technology

From the few studies I've seen on Universal Basic Income, people don't actually work less but they try to start their own business and be creative..
46  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH next to BTC? on: September 12, 2018, 05:02:34 PM
Even tho ETH has went through a correction its still the clear #2cryptocurrency and will stay that way for a long time.  Most trading pairs on exchanges are eth and btc and there arent much competition.
47  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you still believe in bounties and Cryptocurrency? on: September 06, 2018, 09:49:30 PM
Yes! I still believe in cryptocurrency, we have gone through many crashes in the past but we always come back stronger.  It's only a matter of time before the bull market starts again.
48  Economy / Economics / Re: Who is the richest person? on: September 05, 2018, 01:02:12 PM
I heard the rothschilds are worth many trillions.  They basically own the entire banking system so money for them is limitless, all they havfe to do is type numbers on a computer screen.   These bankers have a strong control of our lives so I hope bitcoin can help us break free from their chains.
49  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BITCOIN NOT SO ANONYMOUS! on: September 05, 2018, 12:58:26 PM
No one on the darkweb even uses bitcoin anymore.  All transactions are with privacy coins because its the only way you can stay safe from the government.  You can also mix your bitcoins but that is a lot of work.
50  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Tactics When Market is Falling on: August 31, 2018, 12:17:24 AM
The only thing we can do right now is be patient and play the waiting game. I'm still confident that bitcoin will eventually reach 100k if we wait long enough.

There are billions invested in mining right now and its only increasing everyday.
51  Economy / Reputation / Re: sold accounts bitcointalk. on: August 31, 2018, 12:11:25 AM
Glad to see these people get busted, its worth ranking up your account the right way.  Taking the easy way out gets you no where in life.
52  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Big movers today on: August 29, 2018, 06:56:11 PM
This is still a very small increase.  Most coins need to do a 10x to get back near their all time highs.  It looks like bitcon dominance has been growing over the past few months as well.
53  Other / Off-topic / Re: The value of time on: August 29, 2018, 06:47:00 PM
Time is the most valuable thing we have.    I'm sure every old billionaire would trade all their wealth away to be young again and have a lot more time yo enjoy life.
54  Economy / Economics / Re: With Hackers everywhere, How safe is Cryptocurrency? on: August 29, 2018, 06:37:21 PM
Banks and other financial institutions get hacked as well, its not like this is unique to cryptocurrency.  No matter how secure your system is nothing is 100 percent safe.
55  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin really a bubble ? Analysis. on: August 24, 2018, 04:16:00 PM
ITs only a 200 billion marketcap for the entire marketcap of crypto, that is nothing.  Look at how much usd there is alone, its over 10 trillion.  Crypto will continue to grow while fiat money loses value.
56  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cut losses on: August 24, 2018, 04:13:27 PM
Don't sell now because ETH is near bottom now, think about to buy more ETH now cheaper to reduce the average purchase price. Or if you don't want to invest more money - hold and sell on high in the future because crypto prices are cyclic and we will see ETH more then $600 again.

Only an idiot would sell at this price. Eth will be back over 1k by the end of this year and bitcoin will be back over 20k.  Whales are spreading fud and getting people to sell cheap.
57  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICOs Created a Strong 44% Downtrend for Ether in 14 Days on: August 24, 2018, 04:09:22 PM
Just be optimistic and use this as a golden opportunity to buy ethereum for really cheap.  It is the 2nd most trusted crypto coin after bitcoin.
58  Economy / Economics / Re: Is wallet security important to use? on: August 23, 2018, 03:08:45 PM
Never click on any fishy links, if you have to download anything that might be sketchy use a virtual machine.  you should be safe if you follow these 2 precautions.
59  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should I give up now? on: August 23, 2018, 02:56:17 PM
Investors get rich because they buy when there is blood in the streets. This is advice that Warren Buffet lives by and he is one of the wealthiest people on the planet.
60  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin -Investors first choice- bleeds the altcoins on: August 17, 2018, 02:04:03 PM
Bitcoin is just the most widely used crypto, the days of massive gains with bitcoin are over , a lot of us are looking for 10x-100x returns so we moved over to altcoins.
