41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ZedCoin 2.0 [ ZED ] - Now Trading! on: July 01, 2014, 10:23:21 PM
Per the PM I sent, the versioning has not changed yet, this was an oversight that will be corrected in the next major update coming in the near future.
The links have been updated to the new source, where are you seeing the old link?
Some of the block explorers are still on the old blockchain, they are provided by individuals that need to update. Always use the blockchain at http://162.243.66.131:2750/chain/Zedcoin (which is also the addnode).
Which exchanges are you referring to as not trading ZED?
If you are stuck at 97000 with the new source, you are doing something wrong.

Before stating your negative opinion on a public forum, maybe ask questions first, we're happy to answer here or privately.

Thanks!

1. Why don't you start by removing the old git hub link which is the top search in google for "zedcoin source".

2. Why don't you update your first post with up to date information about

working and correct blockchains
the versioning issue
working and correct pools (at least 4 of your links don't work, one of which isn't even a pool)
working exchanges - cryptsy held our 36000 zedcoins for 24 hours
proper addnode information - supplying one isn't really ideal.

There is so much more you can be doing to proactively help your miners and pool operators than sitting back and waiting for questions to come to you.

Yes you will get negative comments and opinions, coz some of this stuff should be just common sense to have in your first post.

Source is available at:
https://www.github.com/kilo88/zed

Version number hasn't changed ?

     "version" : 1010000,
    "protocolversion" : 60001,
    "walletversion" : 60000,

Also block count is stuck at 97000 with this version.

I have no clue whats going on with this coin. Both github sources stuck at 97000, the block explorers are reporting different block heights, there are no active pools mining this, there are no nodes, all exchanges are down for this coin. Basically the fork has killed this coin off.

please remove this version of zedcoin from github if this is no longer the right one.

Our connectivity issues have returned which is making our administration of this pool incredibly difficult. We have decided to suspend pool operations till we have confirmed that the issue has been fully resolved. All shifts and therefore payments are on hold till we have the confirmation. We apologise for any inconvience this may cause and would like to thank you for your support and understanding through this period.

As most of you are aware this pool is still in beta testing and issues like this are to be expected. We will provide updates when we can. If you require further information, please contact us on support@hashevolved.com.

P.S. Don't forget to turn off or switch your miners to another pool.
45  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XC][OFFICIAL] PoS/Privacy on: June 30, 2014, 06:53:36 PM
Anyone have any idea when we can expect payment for our x11 mining efforts on hashevolved.com site??  I had rentals pointed at it for around 5 hours of the last shift (at over 200MH) and now I can't even see the stats for that address (XaBHWdASdPhz9QZui9Bc6CFUizKHonGkA8)  :/

I'd like to know whats happened?

Hi JCPoon, and everyone else.

Here's an update:

We are currently having connectivity issues with the server itself, so administering it, is not proving difficult, it is actually next to impossible. As such we have decided to take the pool down, till our ISP sorts out our packet loss issues.

We can tell you that the previous shift for x11 works out to about 220 XC and will be paid as soon as our connectivity to the server is restored.

We have decided to stop the pool until that happens and till we can confirm that the x11 payment has gone out.

Please note - This does not mean that any work you have done in the current shift is lost, it's just been put on hold, i.e. your shares are safe.

I would like to say that we are working hard to resolve this issue, but truthfully we're at the mercy of the ISP support team and their bloody 'line tests'.

The absolute worst case scenario is that everyone will be paid manually, however this is something we're not prepared to do just yet.

Please ensure that your miners are off or been switched to backup pools till you hear from myself or Dan.

We like to thank you for your understanding.

Sta @ HashEvolved.com

Thank you all for your patience!

The X11 payment from last shift has gone out finally.

Pool is resuming normal operations albeit still in test mode.

Next shifts are due to end at 3pm (UTC+1).

Many thanks,

Sta @ HashEvolved.com

Pratico put this together, might be a good add to summarize some of the recent developments.

Sorry for posting so much about the OP, I just want everyone to know all the great things going on here.

Recent Announcements:
(organized for any who missed them)

XC Roadmap (short-term):
http://xc-official.com/XCPlatform/XC-Short-Term-Roadmap.pdf

"You'll find some big news in here. The ingenuity of our development team has resulted in a trustless multi-path solution, which I'm sure you'll find to your taste. You'll also find less momentous news, like the fact that XC's development plan is rationalised into successive steps: first xnodes, then multipath, then TOR, then secure private messaging, then UI, branding, and documentation, culminating in the official launch of XC."

***REV2 Release date: July 7th, 2014 (8 days from now)***

XC TOR Stick!
Yes, the XC wallet is now ultraportable and has TOR to obfuscate your IP address. Privacy just got even more private.

Official XC Multipool:

http://www.hashevolved.com/

(supports scrypt, x11, sha256)

+1 this stuff is important for exposure

I wouldn't add announce the multipool yet, until you have had a go ahead from the site owner.

Hi all,

We're still having issues with the server, once its back up and running properly, we'll get the X11 and Scrypt payments out as our first priority.

Sha256 miners should have received their payouts a couple of hours ago.

We recommend switching to any backup pools till you hear from either myself or Dan.

Thank you for your support and understanding in this matter.

I put 4x 280x on it about 12.5Mh/s

whats your config? the 7970's are the same as the 280x, I'm seeing about on average 8Mh/s

I use a optimized mod of sgminer with the last AMD driver

GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
sgminer -k x11mod -o stratum+tcp://stratum.hashevolved.com:5555 -u (XC adress) -p x -I 18 -g 2 --lookup-gap 2 -w 256 --thread-concurrency 8192

But right now i see accepted job in my miner with no reject but the frontend of the pool tell me 59233 rejected share and 0 accepted.

There isn't an accepted/rejected stat on the pool
50  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XC][OFFICIAL] X11/PoS/Privacy on: June 27, 2014, 05:30:46 PM
the multipool does not like asics... I get so many unconfirmed shares.

Unconfirmed shares aren't a bad thing. Everyone starts off with unconfirmed shares. When blocks are found for each coin, your unconfirmed shares turn into confirmed shares. At the end of each shift, you will receive a payout based on how many confirmed shares you have.

If you leave the pool and you still have unconfirmed shares in our system, they might still turn confirmed later, and guess what, you'll be paid for them.

So yeah unconfirmed shares are good thing to have, but ideally, confirmed shares are what you're looking for.

Sorry I guess this is my fault. I'll updated FAQs.

ProfitPools.net

The Lifeforce team proudly introduces www.ProfitPools.net.

We are a brand new mining pool that has been developed to always mine the most profitable coins in our lists. We use an clever profit switching algorithm to constantly monitor the profitability of various coins on different exchanges. If a more profitable coin is found for a particular algorithm i.e. (scrypt, sha256 or x11) our system will automatically redirect the entire pool's hash for that algorithm to the new coin. Once blocks are found, they are automatically exchanged into Bitcoins and sent on to your Bitcoin wallet.

Pool Details

  • Currently 0% pool fee.
  • 3 algorithms to choose from: scrypt, sha256, x11.
  • No registration required, you mine with just your Bitcoin address.
  • Auto-switch to the most profitable coin.
  • Auto-exchange into Bitcoins.
  • Payouts are daily.
  • You get paid proportional based on the number of shares you submit.
  • VARDIFF adjusted stratums geared for all hash rates.
  • Detailed statistics and graphs.
  • High performance node.js platform.
  • Dedicated hardware ensuring stability with minimal downtime.
  • Full DDos protection.

To start mining scrypt now, simply point your miner at the following address: stratum+tcp://stratum.profitpools.net:3333
To start mining sha256 now, simply point your miner at the following address: stratum+tcp://stratum.profitpools.net:4444
To start mining x11 now, simply point your miner at the following address: stratum+tcp://stratum.profitpools.net:5555

Please use your BTC wallet address as your username and your password can be anything.

There isn't a super long term plan of many years to be had with any coin aside from Bitcoin so everyone is a medium to short term investor by default. To invest your life savings into bitcoins let alone any altcoin is incredibly risky; I'm not a financial advisor but my 2 cents would be not to do it. There is no coin in the crypto coin world today that is a long term investment of many years in my opinion.

I don't see changing the coins fundamentals as a bad thing. I actually see it as a good thing. It's show me and fellow investors that the developers are willing to keep up with the dynamic and constantly evolving technological world that we live in.

I have said my piece, I hope the developers/promoters know what they're doing, however no one can really _know_ what they're doing, they can just hope their chosen path is the right one.

Lifeforce will still support EMC2 whatever the outcome.

Hey bud,

I'm glad to see that you'll continue to support our coin no matter what outcome plays out. Personally I believe that this coin needs to stick to its roots. Its was born scrypt and it should live as scrypt. I saw you post about other "more secure" algos. Care to give me a lesson on the pros and cons of the other algos you were mentioning earlier in the thread. To me I see it as "if an algo is strong then its strong, wont matter if its scrypt-n, scrypt, x11 or sha 256". They are all pretty unbeatable.

I believe it comes down to perception. It doesn't matter if one algo is actually more secure than another, but if the market perceives that it is, that's all that matters. So if x11 is perceived as being more secure by the market, and scrypt perceived as a weaker algo, that will be reflected in price and value.

Don't forget EMC2 also is a charity coin in a profit-fuelled industry, it's already got its work cut out for itself.

BTW (and this is not directed to anyone): I don't mine EMC2, I provide a pool for it so I'm not swayed by EMC2's algo directly. My views are purely for the future of the coin and should be taken as impartial.

Whatever the developers decided, we will stand by it. I just hope that if they do do something about it later, its not too late.
