I just took apart the regular gridseed PSU. You can take a fan off really easy, it's a 2-pin connector. So did anybody try to keep it working without the fan? It has a really annoying sound.

Has anybody tried desoldering the fan in PSU? I think it's useless if PSU is drawing for scrypt only mode (70-100W out of 330).

Had the same thing, I thought its DOA. Play with power, if it's not hashing - it doesn't receive power from PSU. Unplug-plug, try to re-wire it to PSU. Helped me.

Will a standard AC adapter work for powering gridseeds? I have around five 12v 10a laying around and it's silent unlike standard gridseed PSU. Will they work to power 8 units each? Won't fry them or something?

Why is it reporting lower hashrate? It shows and accepts shares. Can't figure that out...
|
|
|
Is it only me or profitability was really low for last ~24 hours? Pointing 15MH to it, got around 0.06 BTC.

|
|
So I got 40 miners running with cgminer. Everything is fine, except pool is reporting lower hashrate then cgminer. In cgminer I get 14.46MH/s, in pool I see around 12.8-13.5MH/s. What can be the problem?
I have the same problem. cgminer is reporting a higher hashrate than the real one seen by the pool. Something like 10% difference. I really can't explain why... Looks like an error in the cgminer driver for the gridseed unit. But since it's 361k for each chip, cgminer can't really make a difference, except it's not reporting some shares. Wouldn't it be the pool mistaking then not cgminer?

1BTC Bounty for the first person that can overclock gridseed 5-chip devices in cgminer or bfgminer without additional HW errors and rejects!
Also
2BTC Bounty for the first person that can do it over the weekend! This means by 11:59 EST Sunday 3/16/14
Ready set go.
Cool! I'm doing it right now with cpuminer for SCRYPT only. 900MHz for several minutes. Excellent! Wolfey2014 And this is relevant how? ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) Are you really that daft? ![Shocked](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/shocked.gif) I'm really that daft - how does an OC on CPUMiner generalise to an OC on cgminer? "generalise"? First the spelling is 'generalize'. Secondly, it's the wrong word to use here. You mean 'relate'! Your query is moot. Obviously it's not what he asked for, but it's still worth mentioning. Uh, get it? wolfey2014 You should really keep that spelling and grammar "corrections" shit to yourself. This isn't a grammar forum.

Is it possible to run cgminer 3.8 for BTC and in same time cgminer 3.7 for LTC ? to mine both cores in same time with good minres.. (Windows) I don't like CPUminer...
I can't even get it to work! lol What are your COM port settings?

Another problem appeared. When I get all 40 connected, first 10 are declared SICK. And also some miner's Accepted Shares keep staying at 0. What could be the issue?

Anything over 16 miners will get my cgminer to crash. Why so? It will just freeze and then crash. 16 miners work fine. Can anyone help please?
Just make the height of the cgminer bigger before plugging the USB then nothing will freeze Just tried it. Still freezes ![Sad](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/sad.gif)

Cpuminer is the answer I can't get cpuminer to see my miners for some reason. Just says not found. And another question: is it possible to detach the fan from that LOUD psu? There is really no point of it and it creates so much noise. And how to connect miners to a outside psu? Write out \\.\ before the com port, e.g. \\.\COM**, and do not use more than one Gridseed miner per instance of cpuminer. Thanks, will try it out. What about the fan from PSU? I do think it's not necessary to cool the PSU with usage of 100 watts. Or how to attach my own PSU?

I'm currently buying 40 pieces off a local member via escrow. Hope to get it soon.
