41  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do Atheists Hate Religion? on: April 27, 2019, 12:54:58 AM
Well, I never truly had "faith", just not wired that way. Started doubting religion very early on, became an atheist before I even hit puberty.
I did hate religion with a passion for a good chunk of my teenage years, reason for that was my environment. Religion is very prevalent in my country, a majority of people here are devout believers in orthodox christianity. I, being the "doubtful tom", often ended up on their crosshair, even without me "advertising" my lack of faith.
Being the proud guy that I am, I got into a lot of conflicts because of it.
These days, I'm not as passionate about my dislike for the "opium of the masses", but I'd rather it didn't exist.
A wise fella once said "religion is the only thing, that I know of, which can cause a good man to do monstrous things".

I empathize with you, but I'll spare you the platitudes, it's not in our nature to be peaceful.
At the end of the day, we're still animals, no matter how intelligent we get.
Choose the people around you carefully, that's all YOU can do, life will always be chaotic though.
"Original love" can't exactly return cause it never truly existed, our history was written in blood, it's just how it is; doesn't mean you, or those around you, have to be a warmongers though.
43  Other / Off-topic / Re: Reason why you dont give up on life? on: April 24, 2019, 08:03:53 PM
Simply put -- because there is no alternative.
Life may be pointless, but there's nothing to death. May as well keep living and enjoy the ride while it lasts.
Doesn't do you well to ponder on the topic too much, to be honest.
44  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why is it hard to say sorry on: April 24, 2019, 10:33:55 AM
There may be as many reasons as there are people.
Generally speaking, though, it tends to be either due to pride, or due to the person who "should" apologize not thinking that they're in the wrong.
Dialogue and compromise exist though, as adults we ought to use those more.
45  Other / Off-topic / Re: World War III on: April 23, 2019, 11:21:39 PM
The internet is kind of a game-changer, I highly doubt anyone would want a global war at this point.
Especially with the nukes, absolutely nobody wants to destroy this planet more than we already did, win or lose, you still need a place to live afterwards.
Would be wiser to fear Google and Tencent more than the US & China.
46  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to study well English grammar? on: April 23, 2019, 12:10:28 PM
Well, you could either do it in a straight-forward way or an entertaining way.
You could simply google something along the lines of "english grammar online lessons", it will give you plenty of material to work with. You'll find many resources that'll both teach you as well as test you afterwards, so you get quick feedback.
Alternatively -- read books, lots of them. The more you're exposed to properly written english, the more you'll end up absorbing.
47  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Antivaccination propaganda here and there. on: April 23, 2019, 01:15:54 AM
As you've outlined, a large non-vaccinated group can, and will, jeopardise the health of those who HAVE taken measures to immunize themselves.
That is what worries me, in my country, the belief of "vaccines cause autism and the gov are trying to cull the population!" is too damn mainstream. You couldn't throw a rock without hitting someone that thinks so. Nothing will change their minds either, hell, the guy that originally theorized that link with autism has come out and said that his study was invalid (after being debunked many times), and it's sill not enough to these people.
They'd rather revive deceases than use critical thinking and do the most basic research into how vaccines even work... it's honestly depressing.

Congrats man, I kinda hate how I didn't take the gamble during the early days of crypto, got about 2 acquaintances who struck gold with it.
Don't be stupid thinking you can win big with Gambling. If you have to be luckier then you cannot win Gambling games, most players who join Gambling lose and you think you will become one of the winners? I advise you to give up this stupid idea.

You're taking my use of the word "gamble" too literally, in context it was more along the lines of "I regret not taking the chance to get into crypto earlier".
On the topic of actual gambling though, I am fairly lucky but the iron-clad rule is "don't bet what you're not willing to lose".
Interestingly enough, you can apply that to crypto as well since it involves a similar amount of risk-taking at times.
49  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is your favorite comfort food ? on: April 19, 2019, 05:17:49 PM
A simple pepperoni & cheese pizza, I always make sure to get one for any kind of celebration as well.
50  Other / Off-topic / Re: do you like anime on: April 18, 2019, 09:54:21 PM
I've been into the medium since I was a kid, back then I knew it as "cartoons", 'twas my teenage years when I really started appreciating it.
It's become mainstream nowadays though, would be more fair to ask for a favourite genre at this point  Grin
To me, it's shonen, though if you put a gun to my head and forced me to pick 1 show -- it'd be Gintama.
51  Other / Off-topic / Re: is donald trump evil? on: April 18, 2019, 10:10:47 AM
Would be naive to consider anyone truly "evil", would give ye a pass on serial killers though.
As for the Trumpster himself, he does come across as a buffoon, but despite the language he uses, he is an intelligent man.
While I doubt that his hands are completely clean, I don't think he's as bad as the media and twitter's blue check-marks make him out to be.
52  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why so many people say "Muslims are terrorists" Should we say that? on: April 18, 2019, 12:52:11 AM
Why is it that no one is interested in this discrimination against Muslims? I am sure my words which may hurt some feefees are far more important...

"The World's Hypocritical Silence as China Imprisons its Ethnic Muslims En Masse"
http://charleshughsmith.blogspot.com/2019/04/the-worlds-hypocritical-silence-as.html

With anonymity dying, folks tend to be careful to not offend anyone so they don't become "persona non grata".
If people could separate the middle-eastern people from the muslim religion, we'd have an easier time dealing with these issues.
About your comment regarding a commie-muslim alliance, seems to only be the american commies, the chinese aren't having any of it lol
There was a "recent" incident where switzerland refused to let them in when they refused to share hands, good thinking right there, if they won't give you such basic courtesy -- you can be sure that they aren't trying to assimilate.

This mass fear is IMO the primary goal of all of this constant spying, training you all like obedient little dogs that they whip just enough that they don't dare bark unless ordered to. The people responsible for taking our rights FEAR US, the only way they can win is by convincing you that you have no power over them. Together they don't have a chance. If you run and hide we all go in the cage.

The problem is that they were very methodical in steering us towards this Orwelian nightmare, know how to boil a frog?
You do it by slowly heating the water bit by bit, when you do it that way -- the frog will not jump out before it boils.
Dunno what can be done at this point, especially when the ones boiling that pot are powerful entities such as google, facebook, twitter, paypal and other payment processors.
Sounds very conspiratorial, I know, but they're at a point where they don't even have to be subtle about it, and this "politically correct" climate seems preferable to them.

This tangent is going a bit off-topic, though I'd say it is related to the subject at hand.

Who is the most violent perpetrator of the massacre? Who?

That'd probably be Stalin, communists don't mix with religion though.
Are you really gonna claim that people have no reason to be fearful and distrustful of muslims when you have stuff like Taqiya?
I don't want to condemn a whole people, but I will condemn their religion and behaviour, fact is that a lot of muslims are doing their best to destroy western society in the name of their god, and then a bunch of you come out and start yelling "Islamophobia" to silence people.

I'd prefer it if you'd actually show with your deeds, rather than words, that you truly have peaceful intentions and want to benefit the human race as a whole.
55  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you often take offense? on: April 17, 2019, 10:09:12 AM
Rarely, even though I am a proud person.
You overcome it by building up a tolerance, keep exposing yourself to things that offend you till you are numb to it.
It's the same as building confidence, where you just build a resistance to embarrassment, 'cept you train yourself not to take things personally.

That's straight-up amazing, might as well have fun, eh?  Grin
If scammers are gonna bug us and take our time away, may as well return the favour!
57  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is it college worth it? on: April 16, 2019, 05:09:36 PM
Depends on where you live, in my side of europe, college is your "ticket" for job interviews.
Maybe not essential, but you'll be rejected a lot more often without that piece of paper called "diploma".
I'd advise only going there if you can afford it without going into debt, and if you're serious and disciplined enough to finish it.
Bitcoin's a bit of a gamble, "don't bet that which you're not prepared to lose" and all that.
58  Other / Off-topic / Re: Can the world ever be free from War, Hunger, Drug Abuse and Hackers ? on: April 16, 2019, 01:56:00 PM
Look at it this way: humans aren't perfect, so any society we make won't be perfect either.
Rather than hoping for an ideal world, you should just focus on your own circle's well being.
The war on drugs is a joke, an individual, generally, can't do anything about war and world hunger, and as far as hacking goes -- it'll be around as long as computers exist.
You can take measures to protect yourself from the common ones, the big fish tends to not go after individuals anyway.
Guess it boils down to this:
If you can't change something -- what's the point of worrying about it? Won't help you much, focus on the things you DO have influence on.
59  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is the WORST movie you have ever seen? on: April 15, 2019, 10:13:27 PM
This'll trigger a ton of people, but the most recent movie that I highly disliked was Interstellar.
I signed up for space exploration, ended up getting a lecture about love and some space-time nonsense, critics seemed to love it though.
Suppose the newest Pirates of the Caribbean was also horrible, they completely ruined the character of Captain Jack Sparrow in that one.
60  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you believe in the pic of BLACK HOLE that scientist captured ? on: April 15, 2019, 10:57:40 AM
There's no reason to disbelieve the recent findings, guess folks like the "flat earthers" will always exist.
You shouldn't take places like "The Verge" seriously though, yellow journalism is their M.O.
