41  Economy / Economics / Re: The cost of living is trying to kill the living on: March 12, 2023, 10:25:05 PM
Inflation and deflation are the roots of a country's problems, it's one of the government's challenges in managing a country. Rising and falling prices are a natural thing, of course there are natural factors, technical and non-technical factors that we cannot predict when they will come and go. It's just how we are able to adapt to situations and conditions until everything returns to a reasonable and normal point accompanied by the government's ability to manage a country. All countries are struggling with their respective struggles. We hope that the best solution will soon be found and the situation will improve

The government knows very well that there is inflation, they know the implication when a country enters into inflation but they don't look at the implication when they print money the way they like. When there is excess money in circulation, they print more instead of them to work on some segments of the country they have failed to perfom but they would rather not do anything than print money and use some grants and relief fund as excuse and the problem is, people collect this money from government without asking or considering the implication, it is after the deed has been done, they do realize.
42  Economy / Economics / Re: Why do people stay poor? on: March 12, 2023, 10:10:41 PM
I have always wanted to ask this question is it that there is no opportunity or they do not want to get rich
Mate please more to this I am confused here.

Do you know that some people fall in the wrong side of history? Not because they don't want to work but because they don't have the opportunity like you do. There are some people that are born with Silver spoon, not that there great grand parents were rich but because they faught it so that the new generations they will have will fall in the good side of the history but it is not every poor people that are smart enough to fight this wrong side, they don't have the mental and IQ to be smart and that is why you see family run from poor life to another one, we are not the same in this life, we are different.
43  Economy / Economics / Re: Try to save money while you still can, will you ? on: March 12, 2023, 10:02:15 PM

Well, the inflation in my country now is not extremely high but has already damaged the economy. The cost of living is increasing and does not seem to stop. Last week one of my friends lost his job after working in the same company for a decade. His life abruptly changed, putting him in a place where he could not support his family. If you were him, how would you survive this tough time ? As a friend, I am trying to help him as much as I can and meanwhile, I am planning to save more money to prepare for the unexpected challenges in my life. What about you ?

Savings won't make a difference because you'll end up spending less once inflation kicks in. I prefer to invest when I have the opportunity to work in a good environment that pays well. I don't intend to work for anyone or any company for an extended period of time. Instead, I plan to put my money into some good assets and, once I have enough, launch my own business. I believe that with the experience I have gained thus far, I will be able to launch a successful business. Don't forget that inflation is forever, to ovvercome it, start a business instead of saving.
44  Economy / Economics / Re: How rich would I be? on: March 12, 2023, 09:48:08 PM
if the strategy we are currently doing in investing will work according to our wishes then the wealth we will get in the future will certainly meet our needs in old age, all need a process because many of the plans we make today have not gone according to our wishes but there are times when we will feel the glory that suits our needs, Not everyone who has known crypto for a long time and has now tasted success, there are still many who are struggling.

It is possible to make our dream come true with crypto. However, what is require to achieved that dream is not possessed by everyone, because they lack the patience to hold it. There are people in this crypto that has made fortune more than what they expected and how the had it was only possible with patience. If you have patience to hold your coin regardless of any news, any down fall, you will enjoy what people failed to see because only long term people can enjoy what crypto has to offer people, the freedom and the free profit is what come with being a strong holder of any coin.
45  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: In the best interest of investors, Bounties shouldn't be paid in Tokens on: March 10, 2023, 10:57:30 AM
I don't know who needs to hear this but after years of being a bounty hunter and keeping a close eye on how bounties are conducted, it's safe to say most projects make the biggest mistake of paying bounty hunters using their native tokens, why do I say so, well bounty hunters don't share the long term foresight as the project to the point of being a hodler to grow with the company but rather see their bounty payment as a service and will sell the tokens for less to get whatever money they can because they owe nobody anything.Of course, for the project to pay using the tokens is cost cutting but if the project is truly slated for the future, paying using non-tokens is a good signal for a strong project.

Going forward in the best interest of investors and the project itself, hope to see "more" bounties being paid with established coins in this industry.

What do you guys think?

Not all Crypto start ups that do have Venture Capitals that love to invest in them, even if they do, they can't used the money to fund marketing, they need ectra funds for advertisements and since they don't have any, they always go for what is available which is the token, they have to do the adverts to strenghten the awareness of the projects and that is why bounty risk it to and do the work and must be paid in full after their work, it is now left for the team to know how to prevent dump when the coin becomes listed on the exchange, only if there other ways out to pay Bounty hunters, it would be actually better.
46  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is launching a new project during bear market a good idea?? 🤔 on: March 10, 2023, 10:50:26 AM
FireDAO is a social DAO project based on PID and FID soul-bound accounts, and it's initiated and established by the RainbowCity Foundation. I'm one of the project team member and would like to gather more ideas from everyone in Bitcointalk forum.

I've seen alot of projects did so well during the bull market, but now I'm wondering is bear market will affect the progress of a new project...

Tough time don't last, only tough people do, that is what define any coin that survive Bear market. One of the reasons why teams prefer to launch projects during bull runs is that it is so simple to raise money from investors, whereas in a bear market, it is challenging to raise $100k from investors, even when you have a good representation of projects to show investors. However, this has the drawback that these projects often fail because investors want to sell and take their profits, which causes them to fail quickly. Those that appreciate the initiative, however, will stick onto their coins during a bear market and won't sell until another bull run.
47  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What if: USDT is unpegging and collapsing in the next days - Possible strategies on: March 10, 2023, 10:41:14 AM
What if: The unpegging and collapsing of Tether USD

I do have a hypothetical scenario:

In the next days the stablecoin USDT is unpegging from the US-dollar and is collapsing.

Question:

- What in detail would happen? Which coins, token, banks, funds, DEX' and CEX' would be ~stable and which one would die like flys?
- What would be the best strategies in the situation of a unpegging and collapsing of USDT?
- Which behaviour would have which (group of) person(s) and why?

That will be a disaster because there will be FUD in every market if it happens, but the question is, will it happen? According to Tether, their reserve is equivalent to USD for every USDT that has been minted into circulation, so the possibility of deppeging is out of the question; if it would have happened, it would have happened since 2018 because it is the first stable coin to be adopted by the public, and others that came after had been put to the test and failed. The DEX and CEX will be OK; for example, look at BUSD, which has never depreciated despite the SEC's sanctions.
48  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins dead? on: March 10, 2023, 10:34:06 AM
Watching the current market and the demise of ALL crypto ... is this the end for certain coins?

How do people think the likes of ETH, ADA, XRP, TRON etc will go from here?

Maybe some coins are already dead because they can't survive the bearish and some other coins can't keep up with the trend in the crypto space so they end up abandoned by their community. Right now a lot of coins updating their roadmap and their services to the trend. We will see a lot of projects already supporting NFT, Metaverse and Web3 because they don't want to be left behind.

Most of the top coins were hyped by influencers and whales, and they have all withdrew their investments; the majority of them will not live to tell the tale in the next bull run; they will perish. Coins like SOlana, Avalanche, APtos, and Near Protocol were all pumped by Alameda and SBF and have now gone into hibernation; nobody wants to associate or buy this coin again because those who came in first have all lost; they need a large amount of pump to recover their investments, and guess what, traders and whale are done with these coins.
49  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it worth staking stablecoins? on: March 10, 2023, 10:17:30 AM
I have some USDT and USDC in my portfolio that I'd want to stake in a "De-Fi" dApp without worrying about it in a long time. There are liquidity pools in Uniswap with attractive stake rates, but there's also Compound.Finance with its lending services. Both of these platforms are built on the ETH blockchain, so gas fees would be astronomically high. I've read about some platforms being compatible with Polygon (MATIC), but I'd have yet to see if it's worth the shot (especially in terms of security/reliability).

Do you know the safest way to stake stablecoins without breaking the bank? Also, do you think it's worth it? Or should I consider other options? Any suggestions and/or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Smiley

When people try to stake stable coin, particularly when it is associated with a high yield, they usually collapse at the end of the day, and other few places where you can stake stablecoin have low yield, and I ask myself what is the point of staking it after a year if I can't yield something tangible. I recommend that you buy coins and keep them rather than staking stable coins. It is safer to buy and hold good coins, and you will surely gain something before the end of the year, making it worthwhile to buy rather than staking.
50  Economy / Economics / Re: Why is Inflation Happening All Over the World At Once? on: March 07, 2023, 07:34:14 PM
the inflation today is much scarier, people no longer worry about having job security, they are worry about food security all over the place, you would not believe folk are quiting job voluntarily, we were once taught having no job is very poor indicator of economy, but we have never seem the full picture yet.

The whole inflation emernated from the effect of Covid19 and till today, that is what we are still fighting even if we don't see the disease around. During that time, there were lots of zero Jobs, no food, no proper medications and all lock down, what do we expect after all that, it will definitely be economic lapses and any country who is not strong will suffer the cause after that, look at it today, US is also feeling the heat and my West African countries who are inexperience are all crying of the same inflation, no country is left out from this inflation and shortage of food supply.
51  Economy / Economics / Re: How is the cost of living in your country? on: March 07, 2023, 07:29:39 PM
Right now, to have access to cash is very hard because of the redesign of our currency and I can tell you that things have double eif not tripple over the past months, since the change of governments, I don't think we have had any government worse than this because with your money, you cannot use it as governments is trying to force people to use CBDC and cashless policy  and it is not all sellers that accept digital payments, they prefer cash over cahshless policy. It is the common man that suffers this their nonsense, only grace of God can help us now with the way things are going.
52  Economy / Economics / Re: Social media, now looking more for business than for socializing. on: March 07, 2023, 07:25:07 PM
People have realized that Social Media has a power more than how it used to be in those days when people just come online to chat and connect, influencers are now easy to build online by impacting people socially and also sell things for the fans and most importantly, advertise to people but there is one thing I hate how Social Media are been used to promote sells, people that use social media to sell stuffs sometimes lie and hype a product just to get their shares which is not suppose to be so, there are others who the right thing but the bad ones are more.
53  Economy / Economics / Re: Money and education on: March 07, 2023, 07:15:57 PM
Money and education which one of these is advisable to achieve?
They constantly say education is the key to success but in my country today many graduates don't have a job, and most of them are still fed by their parents, and that's not the way it's supposed to be.
And again they also said money is potency and fondness. Yes, money is power even if you are not a graduate or you haven't been to college before and you have the money you can even employ a graduate to work for you.
Presently now in my wonderful fatherland NIGERIA 🇳🇬 I can see the power of money.
Please any advice?

My society has a slang they used to enrich the young ones as ''School na scam" meaning school is a scam because the government has failed to provide jobs for the youth after spending years in school without realizing that dream job, and so they prefer to do cyber crime which is very very bad. Let me tell you something, no matter the amount of wealt you achieved today, you need education to manage the wealth, you need to study the economy to be able to manage that wealth and without formal education, you wouldn't survive it except you are into Cartel drugs, we all know how profitable yet deadly those business are.
54  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading season? on: March 06, 2023, 05:29:47 PM
I was kind of confused little about something, after someone walked on to me and was telling me that in trading, there are seasons when you profit from it (lucky days) and when but when I asked for an explanation, he didn't give a clear explanation, so I had to bring it up here to know if there are truly seasons of profits in trading and how can I identify such seasons?

I think the person was trying to send a message to you that as a trader, you can make moeny during bull run whether you have an experience or not, those are the lucky days you do small set up and then in few minutes, you have made something depending on the amount of money you trade with but I will advise you, if you want to trade, don't wait till that period, start now there is bear market, you will get more esperience now and use that to make money in bull run instead of waiting for that time you will start trading with mistakes and when the bear markets emerges again, you wouldnt be able to understand anything.
55  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Crypto Currency trading without knowledge on: March 06, 2023, 05:23:44 PM
Use a crypto trading bot: A trading bot is a software program that automates the process of buying and selling cryptocurrencies based on predetermined rules and algorithms. Some trading bots require a certain level of technical knowledge to set up, while others are designed for novice traders.

Without trading knowledge, trading in the first place will end up with massive lost, you wouldnt learn anything but rather using your money to learn trading the hard way instead of using doing paper trading where all your loss and profits are just figures, they are not real and in that way, you can adjust your mistakes and learn things easily following real time, only the loss and profits that are not real, everything else is real. I would advise you not to also use bots for your trades, they are only good when there demand and FOMO in the market, everything good cease to exist as soon as bull run ends.
56  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Retracement will finally happen on: March 06, 2023, 05:13:20 PM
This is already given, the level of $20,000 is now the strong level. As on the peak of the bull run 2017-2018, the peak was around nearly $20,000.
So for now, I can consider it as a significant level because look when after we break that level this year, it's always now above $20,000 and that level is now acting as a support.

We quickly forgot that nothing is too strong to break below or above. If we think back to the FTX crash, when the market was dumping extensively on roller coasters and there was no support or resistance because of innumerable fears, we suddenly forgot all of that and turned bullish once more. Some were predicting $40k before June, but they all forgot that users have yet to see the thousands and hundreds of people who are still stuck on FTX. When the FTX continue case in court, many altcoins people have invested in end up not breathing again, the same $20k may be easily shattered.
57  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I dont like predicting btc price or moves but here is what i think i see on: March 06, 2023, 05:03:23 PM
Reason why Im opened this topic i see everywhere there is a lot panic.
The btc now in 23k zone the 24300-24500 is top.

Even the so called experts saying that we go down yes we might but we need to understood that 23k price range is lowest now.
If anything then 22300-22500 is perfect price to Open long position.

I would say this it's time to stop guessing and gamble and come to me i'll teach you how it's working.

I Also looking to connect and share ideas with people who see Same things that means you follow the Same indicators and you probably have instutional Investment education and Id like to talk with you so we both can share ideas and probably connect.

The initial paragraph of your post made me want to take you seriously, but I soon lost interest when you started blabbing about how you intended to educate others with trade. You may not be aware of the fact that every trader has a different style of trading, and that people's predictions depend on how the market feels to them. You may believe that 23k is the top, but I disagree. This local resistance can be broken with strong demand and more USDT issuances, but as of right now, I don't believe that the available USDT can surpass the previous ATH.
58  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best practices to prevent hackers from stealing our crypto assets on: March 05, 2023, 10:03:41 PM
In addition, don't connect your wallet to untrusted websites that are not safe, you could be entertaining your money with scammers with that kind of websites and when they allow you communicate with a smart contract that is designed to trap you, you are going to lose all you have in your wallet, don't forget to stay way from airdrops, there are some airdrops that sometimes done on purpose to make you think they are giving you free token but if you check those airdrop, they are trap that once you try to swap them, they will sweep your wallet with nothing left, stay safe.
59  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: reasons why someone wants to pay in tether and not bitcoin? on: March 05, 2023, 09:57:08 PM
What could be the reason for someone wanting to pay in Tether and not bitcoin?

my understanding is that using bitcoin, you will not have to worry about your crypto being frozen.

Could there be any reason for tether being advantageous in such transaction?

They each have advantage and disadvantage, the reason why people want to pay or accept USDT is that it doesn't fluctuate like the way bitcin does, it is 1 dollar equivalent to 1 USDT and can be redeem into cash if you so wish to that over the counter in Tether office but the problem with it is that, it is centralized, it can be frozen if Tether that issued them feel you vilolated their policy but bitcoin on the other hand is not centralized, it has no middle man, you can redeem it into a cash but the problem with it is that, it has volatility and do crash when there is bad news.
60  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are you planning to accumulate for 2025 on: March 05, 2023, 09:36:29 PM
I have been gone for a while and now I am back, I am fully prepared to build some long term hold bags with the new trending utilities in the crypto space, I still somehow believe that Metaverse and A.I will generate big gains by 2025, what coins are you currently looking forward to accumulating? Out of Metaverse and Artificial intelligence is fine.

Metaverse and NFTs have fade out, may be AI could live to that period but for sustainability, they need to show the public how viable they are to crypto industry if not, the hype will not see the end of 2024 talk more of 2025. To hold altcoins are scary but the gains are very nice whenever they get pumped so I will be adding EThereum to my wallet, I will also be adding Near protocol, they are doing some good work in the background and I expect them to do more before that period and I also look forward to see what Aptos will be doing before the bullrun, that project is good and has not been pump before.
