If you are correcting other people while sounding like a douche, at least don't make mistakes.

Sorry, it wasn't my intention to sound like a douche. I'm still new here, so that was my attempt at humor (hint: little smiley).

Instead, i'm going to say:
Dear BurningChrome, please keep in mind that an address is not the public key. With P2PKH for example, the address is the hash of the public key. Thanks.

Well, live and learn. Thank you for that!
I was just trying to help a member who is new to the crypto world.

But I guess it can't do any harm, so here is the actuall number:
...

Please don't call it "a number". It's such a misnomer that it almost hurts us when we read it.  Grin

To avoid any confusion in communication, this string of alphanumeric characters is best referred to as a Bitcoin address (BTC address) or your public key. Remember the difference between a private key and a public key. You should NEVER share a private key with anyone or publish it anywhere.

Not newbie and not a new trend and you would be amazed how many people would fall for it, put yourself first in the victim shoes, having lost some money that might make the difference between paying your rent or buying food and getting a loan to be able to do so and think how attractive it might sound to recover even half of it.
It's been years since all the topics in trustpilot of exchanges that went down or Ponzi schemes or all other scams are invaded by bots claiming x and y and z company was able to recover their funds.

Yeah I agree, and that's the saddest part of this story. Scammers target victims because they are the most vulnerable. Besides having fallen for the scam once many of them have lost more than they can afford to lose and are therefore an easy target. Unfortunately, some of them will take another reckless step in the hope of recovering at least part of the missing funds that will cause them an even greater loss. This is similar to when gamers deposit increasing amounts to recover what they've lost and thus enter a vicious circle with no way out.

This is an old tactic and I wouldn’t say these are newbie scammers because they make very good use of psychology and abuse the emotional state of people who have lost something valuable. The only thing we can do is report such cases in the hope that at least some of the potential victims will be saved.

In my opinion, the odds of getting scammed with Bitcoin, fiat or any other asset as the means of payment is pretty the same, infact considering how untraceable cash is, it is probably easier to use that than Bitcoin.

I somwhat disagree. Bitcoin is mainly a digital currency that is used online. It's a lot easier to scam from behind a computer screen than in real life. True, cash is untraceable, but for someone to forcibly take it away from you, hi must be either stronger or faster than you. Wink

Bitcoin or cryptocurrency in general does not facilitate scams as the full responsibility falls on the holder to maintain their security. Such 'give x amount to receive y amount back' type of scams has been used repeatedly overtime and most should have caught up by now.

I totally agree with that. Bitcoin is just an instrument. Most of the time people fall victim to scams because of their ignorance or greed (or a combination of both).

I think most of the people who are joining this forum every day want to make money from this forum. But not many people know how to make money from this forum.  Maybe I don't know everything either. Yet I am sharing here what I know.

It's great to share this kind of information with the community. I had no idea about all these earning opportunities and methods. I was only familiar with bounty campaigns, which used to be lucrative, and now not so much. At least that's what I heard from friends who introduced me to this forum.

Unfortunately, my job does not allow me to participate in many discussions here, so I use the forum primarily to read and learn about cryptocurrencies. But I will definitely research all these methods that you mention because I am trying to collect some cryptocurrency to get more acquainted with their possibilities.

For someone here, it might sound ridiculous, but I haven't even selected a wallet yet because as far as I understand, the selection is very extensive.  Smiley

I came here, at the urging of a friend, just to learn things about Bitcoin and other crypto projects. Honestly, I didn't even know that people could have professional careers on the forum as well.
So, something for everyone? That's awesome!  Grin

If you're referring to ranks, it's purely cosmetic from the forum's official point of view, and ranks exist on pretty much any forum to incentivize posting. What makes this forum different though is that you can earn some money, depending on your rank and quality of posts, but I still wouldn't call it a career - this opportunity can disappear at any day for a variety of reasons. It can be a side income, but you can't turn in into your main job.

I understand that the forum does not bring any profit by itself. I referred to different 'careers' or jobs that certain members do through the forum.
As far as I have seen, people do various promotions, signature and social media campaigns, graphic services, writing articles ... and for these jobs they get paid in cryptocurrencies. That's pretty cool, and I don't think I've come across any similar forum like this one.

Congratulations to BurningChrome! Your guess of 506,555,890 was closest to the actual which is 506,568,303, unfortunately not enough for a boosted win but close nonetheless!

Thank you all for playing, I'll catch you in the next one Smiley

Wow, this is a great! It's not bad for my first try.

Many thanks Hhampuz and Roobet.com!

As far as I can see so far, this forum offers a wealth of knowledge available to everyone. Earning on the forum can be a great incentive but for new members I think the most important thing is to inform themselves about various aspects of cryptocurrencies and other related projects.

What attracted me here is the detection of scams and fraudulent projects that just try to deceive investors and steal money. Every day we are showered with various offers on social networks and other communication channels. This forum has helped me not to make dubious investments.

Are Dubai and Istanbul your only two locations? Do you do business anywhere else on the Arabian Peninsula?
Thanks!
