Seems the auction has hit the 22BTC mark right in time, congratulations to those involved! Smiley

Any date available for when the crowdfund will be starting?

Crowdfund will be starting, I hope, when and only when we have it all planned 100% and are in consensus about it, after we've thoroughly researched all the available options.

OK, just cloned + built from https://github.com/bitcreditscc/uniqredit,..

WE HAVE LIFTOFF! Smiley

1. Encrypt and back up wallet, restart.
2. Go to Utilities and Settings and under Wallet Utilities tab click RPC console.
3. In RPC console, unlock your wallet with 'walletpassphrase passphrase 60' without the quotes, then type 'importprivkey your-old-BCR-privkey(s)' without the quotes.
3 (alternative) - place you old BCR wallet.dat file in your .uniqredit folder and restart.
4. To get your blockshares if you were a bidder, go to  Utilities and Settings > Blockshares, enter wallet passhrase and the privkey of the Bitcoin address you made your bid from, then click Import. Or you can do the same thing via the RPC\ console.

You should now have your old BCR balance in UniQ evivalent, and see your blockshare payouts.

edit: I got a segfault crash just after step #4, I'm looking into it but I suspect the core was pushing entries to the transaction history tableview faster than it could handle them. No biggie, restarted and all was fine, running stable now.

edit2: forgot to add, for #4 to work via the Blockshares UI, you'll need uniqredit-cli in your uniqredit folder (wherever your wallet is) as well as a uniqredit.conf file containing the following:
Code:
rpcuser=blah
rpcpassword=blahblah
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
server=1

Note: Some of the P2P Finance stuff via the GUI needs you to have the cli executable and a uniqredit.conf file in place too. We'll get around to packaging it all for users eventually. Smiley

Bear in mind that 2 million UNIQ with a final supply of 11 million is equivalent to about 38 million BCR given the reduction in final supply from BCR's 210 million. Then you have the decimal point drop.

So 1 UNIQ / 11 million  ~  190 BCR / 210 million BCR.

Anyone yet to bid for a UNIQ blockshare might want to do the maths re: the curent blockshare bids vs. the current BCR price... Wink

Looks like someone did the math...

...still very cheap though. Wink

Much as I was looking forward to getting the equivalent of millions of BCR @ < 1 sat, nobody else deserves it that cheap so suggestion to postpone and redo thirded.

No point giving it away.

Release client/chain with P2P finance demonstrably working, and have the Blockshares auction after we've done more work on outreach.
I agree with you that by now the bidders get it a lot cheaper than anticipated and that the auction didn't bring in the amount that we tough.
But anyhow this is the risk of an auction and how it works,  we also bid on v1 to get cheaper bcr.

What will new investors think when they see that the auction discharged and had a redo because it didn't bring in enough? That said the aution is for 1 year and who ever gets the reward can swap their share every 3 months.

The auction is not risk free for bidders either it doesn't matter if the price are 1 sat or 10000sat

that means we have to do a better jobb with the crowd fund.

We don't need to rush the crowdfund, if this project needs more funding I'm sure that most of the people in this community will be happy to help.

Most of us have fb, instagram and a twitter account. Get the word out, give this project some exposure and people will come naturally.

Fair points. Smiley

Plus it would be good to see the blockshares tech in action, albeit it's an evolution from daily bidding.

funds in bittrex will swap automatically??

Yes, dev is working with them.

There's not much to go wrong, you (or Bittrex)  just use your old v1 wallet.dat file or import your v1 privkeys and that's it, your new v2 balance is there for you.

hope to see 100sat before v.2

You know you can get it for half that most days by sending your BTC to the bidding address instead of Bittrex?

Made a BCR website that matches the v2 wallet look, not intended to be anything official, more for my own amusement and reference. Content a bit sparse right now but will flesh it out as more concrete details of v2 are confirmed. Aiming to do a complete wallet-tour / how-to of the existing and the new features as soon as time allows.

Suggestions welcome. If you have any copy you think would fit, please let me know.

I'm so looking forwards to using your wallet.

Just no pictures of red head birds, or amazing technicolour splash screens - pretty please.

Fear not, serious lead balls grey with just a smidgeon of lurid orange it is.  Grin

P2P lending is taking off in the real world, right now. As we speak, it is a sector that was worth a few million a year a few years ago and is now doubling each year into the billions per year category.

Do we need assets right now? No. There are asset projects all over the place.

I think asset integration should be the next big step.

Allow real world lenders to establish tradeable assets (and by assets in this case I mean financial products and services) integrated with the blockchain and integral p2p finance system...

Concentrate on becoming a useful and easy to use platform for real businesses... and the fees will come. Smiley
55  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ◈◈BITCREDIT◈◈ FIRST BLOCKCHAIN BASED CRYPTO P2P LENDING ◈◈ on: May 20, 2016, 04:16:40 PM
Another question I have is clarification on the total supply reduction. Does this mean that the coins I currently have residing in my wallet will be reduced proportionately as well, or do they remain as the total supply that they presently represent.

Baudrate

Your BCR balance will remain the same, it's just future supply that is being reduced.

Your points about the chain are valid, there was so much new stuff that was tried in various iterations of v1 that it all got a bit tangled. v2 will be a fresh start and should resolve things.

What happens to the btc?

Funds development and backs the currency.

So, if there are zero bids then the miners get 100%?

Yes. Unlikely to happen though.

Should I add scheduled bid capability to the qt client? It would look something like this:

Tooltip message is a bit convoluted but hopefully explains enough.

Bid Now button now calls Electrum and points it at the bidding address for you, who uses HDD munching Bitcoin Core if they don't have to?

Not sure I've mentioned it but clicking on the logo on any page takes you back to the main menu too. Will get around to adding a visual c(l)ue for this. Added visual cue.

If I download Virtualbox, I can run Ubuntu? I haven't ever tried running a different OS on my Mac.

Sure, same as renting a VPS to run a masternode, except you're doing it on your local machine which is probably much better specced so you can have a full desktop GUI if you want. You're not going to get GPU accelerated anything but it will be perfectly useable. You just need a few gigs of space for whatever OS image you're using.

Ah, no bueno. I'm the idiot who purchased a mac a while back not thinking it would be advantageous to have a windows comp. Looks like trex it is  Cheesy

Thanks for the explanation though

Virtualbox + ubuntu VM image...?
