41  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Filing injunction by May 16 to release seized Mt. Gox bitcoins on: May 09, 2014, 03:48:07 PM
Why the 16th May?

The assumption is that the coins were seized in or around 16th of May.

The question of standing can be addressed by making the allegation that it is the gov who seized it. The gov would then have to accept or deny it.
42  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / The Bitcoin Foundation Must Remove Satoshi as Founder on: May 09, 2014, 02:32:43 PM
Satoshi Nakamoto was not a founder of the bitcoin foundation. It  is highly unethical for him to be listed as a founder. It is not an honorary title. Satoshi created a decentralised system. He would hate the foundation's centralisation.

Now that a highly controversial figure has been elected to the board I think it is imperative that the foundation stops claiming legitimacy by stating that Satoshi was in any way a founder or in any way approved of that rotten centalisation.

Phinnaeus Gage

Can we get a summary please of what exactly you are alleging. It's a lot to go through.

Thanks
44  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Anybody else think Jed McCaleb and his bud's robbed Gox? on: May 02, 2014, 03:40:48 PM
Can you explain what were the means, what was the motive and how did he have the opportunity?
45  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: URGENT: drop MTGOX class action lawyers! contact WSJ about their lies URGENT! on: April 30, 2014, 04:35:49 PM
"After that, if the facts do not change, there is sufficient evidence to apply for an injunction ordering the US Government to release the seized property."

If gov seized the btc, where are they on the blockchain?
46  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [ATTN] Clarification of Mt Gox Compromised Accounts and Major Bitcoin Sell-Off on: April 30, 2014, 03:27:52 PM
Interesting all this lack of information from both Jed and Mark all the way back.

Did Jed ever get paid? If so how much? How much was mtgox sold for exactly?

Was the blockchain address of this account which withdrew 2k ever published?
47  Economy / Speculation / Re: What happened at Gox on 2013-05-13 - (BTC Xfer Diagrams) on: April 30, 2014, 02:01:12 PM
About 300k btc was withdrawn in May after DHS seized the dwolla account. So everyone stared turning their fiat into btc and withdrawing. That's why there was a btc price premium on gox.
48  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [GOX] Crime Scene Investigation, Case #MG744 on: April 28, 2014, 06:18:02 PM
This was a very interesting article by the way: http://www.dailytech.com/Bitcoin+King+Pt+II+Mt+Goxs+Dictator+Karpels+Proves+Tragically+Flawed/article34452.htm

It alleges that mk sold the coins for about 75 million around April and presents some good circumstantial evidence for it. Same author also says: "[MK] bought a luxury condo in Megura Ward, a pricier part of Tokyo". This was also around the time twobitidiot declared war on Vanessen - maybe unrelated, but MK did try to run with our 200k btc - or raughly 120 million dollars - and his past history shows he is a dishonest man who tried to cover up the theft of a million btc by continuing to operate a fractional reserve.

His lies are up. Whatever happened, he was primarily responsible for it, and it may well be that he was responsible in a criminal way.

He can run, but he can't hide.

51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Can we have a Bitcoin but with 1-2% constant inflation and slower halving? on: April 18, 2014, 01:02:03 PM
Bitcoin is too deflationary which makes it a perfect store of value as primary use and currency as secondary use.

A 2% inflation coin would be a perfect currency primarily which may eventually even replace national currencies.

Doge is not % inflationary. It has a constant addition of 5 billion coins which means that the inflationary percentage of the market cap gradually goes down to eventually become deflationary.

A constant % on the other hand would be a 1-2% of the market cap every year forever onwards.

This is very different from the fed simply printing money etc. The 1-2% covers losses and accounts for a growing economy so in real terms it is almost 0% inflation or deflation. Thus as close to a neutral currency as possible.

If someone can please code this then I think we would have a winner currency to supplement the winner store of value that is bitcoin.
52  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Why is post that Mark Karpels is wanted by US gov delegated to service discussio on: April 15, 2014, 10:54:53 PM
What's the US gov wanting an ex-ceo of a bitcoin exchange got to do with service discussion?

MT Gox is no longer providing a service and the above news is of general interest I think?
53  Economy / Service Discussion / The US government has ordered MT Gox CEO to go to US on: April 15, 2014, 07:58:23 PM
FinCen has ordered Mark Karpeles to go to Washington on the 18th of April:

"The FinCEN Subpoena requires Karpeles to appear and provide testimony in Washington, D.C. on April 18, 2014 – the day after the scheduled Bankruptcy Deposition of Karpeles in Dallas. The FinCEN Subpoena did not attach a document request and did not specify topics for discussion."

Are you guys forgetting like the price was 1k or something and started to fall only cus gox started all this?

Price is going up I think to 1.2k and above
56  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Gox to Announce they found 670,000 btc? on: March 25, 2014, 06:14:10 PM
Mt. Gox is not going anywhere until the Tokyo District Court and the Tokyo Metropolitan Police are through with it.

Nah, they have only made an application. They can just cancel the application. Court has 0 power if they now come out and say we are being acquired and everyone will be made whole.
57  Economy / Service Discussion / Gox to Announce they found 670,000 btc? on: March 25, 2014, 05:44:14 PM
https://twitter.com/CanarslanEren/status/448418452701974528

And is blockchain acquiring them? Head of blockchain development rumour has it is in Tokyo together with Roger Ver. An article on the 12th of March stated that blockchain is to announce the biggest acquisition yet in two weeks, so by this Thursday.

Roger Ver tweeted on the 10th of March:

"I'm not in Japan at the moment. I'm just following the reddit updates like everyone else, hoping not to be goxed again..."

What does he mean goxed again, how can he be goxed again?

On the 14th of March he tweeted:

"I'm shocked that there aren't yet Bitcoin accepting locations listed in Macau, the gambling capital of the world! That's about to change!"

How is that about to change?

The draft states that gox is meant to move to singapore, or hong kong, or macau? - the las vegas of asia?

And of course draft says gox is meant to reopen April 1st.

Are we ladies and gents about to experience the greatest comeback in the history of bitcoins?

Edit: "Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising everytime we fall"

If the above is true it seems like it definitely was a gag order, but we probably won't officially be told until maybe it becomes irrelevant.

58  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: To Bitstamp: Gox's coins are being sold on your exchange on: March 24, 2014, 12:04:07 AM
I am not sure why everybody likes to talk about "proof". The law deals with evidence, not proofs. Law is not maths.

Bitstamp needs to respond because any delay in responding may open them to legal liability. If they are investigating the matter then sure, but say so, if the account is to be locked or not locked affects the decision/s that a creditor may make.

Any delay therefore by a creditor in applying for an injunction can lead to legal liability. If they wish to take that risk, together with the PR risk, then that's their legal and business decision.
59  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: To Bitstamp: Gox's coins are being sold on your exchange on: March 23, 2014, 10:08:26 PM
8 hours now and no reply from Bitstamp. What on earth are they up to?

I think we need an answer immediately. Either the account is locked or you - bitstamp - do not feel you are in a position to do so. We need to know either way so that we can consider our other legal options available.
60  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: To Bitstamp: Gox's coins are being sold on your exchange on: March 23, 2014, 03:29:59 PM
Appreciate the detective work. Assuming you are correct, what should bitstamp do about it?

That's for them and their lawyers to decide. We all would appreciate some public statement from them however in regards to whatever decision they take. They were emailed yesterday and have not yet responded.
