Please, those of you who showed interest chime in and see what you prefer and if you firmly commit to it. If we mint 5 coins so be it, I would be doing this because I like Doge and love Gold coins.
Hey CI! Appreciate you being open to comments. What's the widest width we would be looking at with 1.5 and 2 oz of gold? Also, here's an alternative idea that might be able to accommodate max width pound for pound and perhaps a first of its kind if not mistaken- Palladium (approximate density of 12.0, gold is 19.3, platinum is 21.4, and silver is 10.5). I've seen silver, gold, and platinum in the cryptosphere but really don't recall running across palladium; however, price is a bit higher than gold at close to $2500/oz but perhaps as much wouldn't be needed for 40mm width or if quantity needed was like 1.5-2 oz, then perhaps width could fall somewhere between 40- 50mm, which may be able to better accommodate the complex design. -2stout Thanks for the suggestion! With 1.5-2oz we could se 40-44mm coin. I would love to mint in palladium but last time I asked the mint I work with was not offering as an option. Will ask again once they are back from vacation.

Gold is a metal much denser than silver, hence coins with the same weight tend to be smaller. I always try, and when minting gold, I reduce the coin thickness in favour of a bigger diameter. 1M Doge coin was 1/2 Oz, with a diameter of 30mm if I am not mistaken. 1Oz 0.1 BTC coin was 35mm 1Oz Silver coins are usually 39-40mm Comparison between Silver & Gold 1oz size This is a complex design to accommodate in a small coin, maybe we should aim for 1.5 or even 2 Oz to make it 40mm But that is double the gold, which is trading at 1817$, we would be facing a cost just in metal of 3600$ + Dies & Minting... If this project goes forward it will be on a Pre-order basis. With a max of 10-15 as they have to be stored and shipped... Please, those of you who showed interest chime in and see what you prefer and if you firmly commit to it. If we mint 5 coins so be it, I would be doing this because I like Doge and love Gold coins.

I would love to create another Gold Doge Coin! AFAIK the 1 Million Doge Gold was the first (and I think only) gold coin created for Doge, and also the first CI gold coin. Looks like we have interest for at least 7-8 coins, I would also like one! I was thinking on 1 Troy oz, 1M Doge was 1/2 Oz. Denomination should be much lower, maybe 1000 Doge? Minting 1 Oz gold coins in that limited quantity is quite expensive though. I've only done it once, for CI Ultimate Collectors Set: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3736241IMO, the coin deserves a higher denomination than the 10k Doge, especially if it is a smaller run. Regardless, I’m just happy to see everyone is interested in another gold coin from the very talented CI. I don't like doing high denomination coins, its a bigger liability and the scope of potential collectors narrows. We have to bear in mind that when the 10.000 Doge were minted, it equalled to ~2-3$ and the 1M Doge to ~200-300$!!

My phone currently is an iphone 7 (just returned the Galaxy 21 ultra due to an awful battery) and I suck at taking photos..I will try but I'm not sure I can capture it. It's hard to see, but when you run your finger nails across it , very evident. You don't need a knife with those at all, even if your nails are very short. I do have a decent microscope I bought just for coin surveying/photo taking actually, but not sure where it's at..will see if I can dig it up. I got these most recent capsules I want to say in maybe Sept-Oct 2020..something like that. Will try and confirm. If you can't feel the lip/edge though, you're probably okay. I noticed it right away w/the very first one. I thought to myself at the time..man this seems like a security flaw that could possibly allow air to move in much more easily.. so glad I didn't listen to myself But again, I've been buying from them for maybe 7-8 years with zero issues, always top quality. I mean what on earth were they thinking..I can't see it being cheaper either & so what if the old ones were hard to open, that's the entire point. A buddy who also collects these, has had them in climate control at all times, also has toning on every single one of his new ones as well. So messed up. Which size are your capsules? It might be they have changed that particular model. I have checked and from an order I placed and received on December 2020 they were exactly as always, as well as the last ones I got this year. Maybe they are shipping old stock, who knows... If they can be opened easily... thats not a good sign.

Thank you ChiBitCTy for your post.
Like you, I have been using Air-Tites.com capsules since the beginning, always with great result.
Could you please post a clearer picture of the new "lip" added for ease of opening? I have seen the image you posted on Reddit, but I can not distinguish it. (I'm getting old lol)
The last batch of capsules I received (early July 2021) looks to be like the original, I can not see any difference, I have to use a sharp blade to open them once closed. (They are the I model) maybe they have changed the smaller models?
Please, any info you get from them, let us know.

3-5 of the basketball went to auction, Im unsure if winning that auction gave you the chance to buy the same number hockey or if 3-5 will be auctioned again.
3-5 gave you the chance to get the same number on next releases, so they wont be auctioned. At the moment, it is possible that a set (Basketball + Hockey) is auctioned in the near future. Will keep you updated! BTW, the coins have started arriving to their owner's homes! Am I too late to buy a hockey coin wallet? At the moment there are no Hockey Coins left for sale, it is possible that in the near future some appear for auction/in the secondary market.

Really satisfied with how these are turning out!
As buying a basketball coin guaranteed getting the same number for the hockey, will start contacting owners soon.
Thanks again @dolphriends for the sketch for the design of the coin!
Will there not be an opportunity for others to purchase this coin? In case the original owner of the coin number does not want this coin, it will be offered

I actually thought my bid of .003 on Monday had a chance to win The market has changed or is growing, which is good for all. Steeley It helps that CI's coins are exquisite. It's not only a good sign for the physicals market, but a compliment to him. THANK YOU EVERYONE! It has been a wild ride. Thanks for pointing that out CI! I think I won?!! I am afraid each bid extends 10 mins for all lots. There is no higher bid within 10 minutes. unless i missed it? What I mean, is that any bid for any coin extend the auction end time by 10 minutes. Each coin has the same ending time, no coin ends before another one as that is a chaos to control. What I am saying is that my bid was the last valid bid. 10 minutes had elapsed by the time the next valid bid was submitted. For that coin. Your bid: #6 0.008
Next valid Bid: 8: 0.0078
Any bid, for any coin, extends ending time for all coins. I hope this solves the confusion
