PoS works great. My initial investment matured and I received my first shares back.
how this works ? Goto the first page of this discussion board my internet colleague and view everything that Noirshares has to offer. I am not a technical investor but what I do know is that your investment needs to mature in your wallet. My initial investment matured and after the 14th day I noticed my wallet had a mining symbol and shares were produced. Yes I did leave it opened.

Thank you Noirtalks for the update. I am testing both ports right now and even though my miner stats is not showing up correctly, I will leave my test miners active for another 24 hours. I do understand that with any new technology, there will be bugs to smooth out. Have a good day

Thanks for the response, I was able to sync the blockchain but now it shows 0 balance of my coins, they're not even on the stake. I did delete the wallet.dat thinking i needed to replace it with my .dat backup. Is there a way to import it manually since its not showing up? Thanks.
Just replace the wallet.dat with your backup wallet.dat and resync/rescan. Still nothing, cant believe i messed this up this bad. Think a bounty is appropiate now due to being a pain in the ass. 100 NRS to whomever does solve this. To recap, i downloaded new qt, saved a few DATs, (from old and new wallet), coins were staking when i downloaded new qt but the blockchain was stuck for 8 days so i saved another DAT, went to %appdata%/Noirshares folder and deleted everything and replaced it with my old DAT. I tried the old and new wallet.dat and have done the process about 4 times already and the coins do not appear. Also i may have dumped privkeys on the debug window when i upgraded to new wallet, but i got an error (red letters), so there was no output so i dont think it dumped. But if it did would they go to some file location on my harddrive? Since you didn't successfully dumped your private key, keep your original wallet.dat is the most important thing you should do. after that, go to %APPDATA%\Noirshares\, delete all the files, then copy your original wallet.dat to this folder, open the QT, just waiting the sync complete... then you should get your coins back. Just make sure your original wallet.dat is correct, Otherwise you will lost all your coins. 1. I installed a new wallet on another machine 2. Took my wallet backup and dropped the wallet.dat file into the new installation before opening the client for the first time 3. Opened the wallet and unlocked (not sure if the is necessary or not) 4. Started to load transactions, sync, transactions were there !! Found this at noir talk

I am all in as well. Even treating it as a stock. I put capital in every paycheck and it doesn't matter to me if the price is high or low. These are shares in a company. Plain and simple.

How do you stake? I have my wallet encrypted and currently unlocked. Am I needing to perform an action or just keep it the same?
No, basically keep your wallet unlocked and just wait. Keep in mind that it will take a few hours to be detected and then you are just waiting in line after that. Thanks Logan. That's what I needed to hear

I would like to talk to the directors and officers about an idea that could be introduced as a general fund. Is there an email address I could send it to?
koontas@noirds.com - anyone with ideas is free to reach out at any point Thank you for your reply. I sent a draft off. Hope this helps.

the mullet will be cut, updates coming soon
What is a Mullet?? Description please. in German it would be "Meeräsche" and gives no sense: D Thanks for your input, i'll discuss the issue with the Officers. Don't mind the language barrier, if you have something that is hard to translate from German, please post in German, one of our Development officers is fluent. We currently have Russian, German and English in the officers group, we are actively searching for a Chinese/Mandarin partner and French as well, you would join Hyz in Marketing. Other Languages are welcome as we want to encourage true global decentralization. Also, as you are aware, we have a sha256 mining facility that generates the day to day running funds and some is being kept for development and payouts, however, we have been mulling the idea of expansion and inclusion of a 270 mh/s scrypt combo. If people are interested in this, please show interest by giving a +1. if enough interest is there, we will do it. +1

why do u have to dump the private keys and all that stuff, because all i did was install the new QT wallet open it and it synced?
Updated Qt with PoS Fix 32 and 64bit exe and zips https://github.com/NoirX/NoirShares-Qtsource https://github.com/NoirX/NRSNoirshares Upgrade Process Step 0 Dump Private Keys Step 1 See if blockchain redownload is needed. Help > Debug Window > Console. In the console type "getblock ffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffeeee" If return is Block not found (code -5) there is no need to re-download the chain proceed to step 5 1a otherwise backup privatekeys type "dumpprivkey <NRS Address>" and copy down the output some place safe as this is how you will get your coins back. 1b repeat 1a for each receiving address Step 2 Shut down NoirShares, verify not still running in background Step 3 If Block found open application data folder for NoirShares Windows default is %appdata%/NoirShares Linux default is ~/.NoirShares Mac OSx default is /Users/<your-user-name>/Library/NoirShares Step 4 Delete everything except wallet.dat(unless you dumpedprivkeys in step 1) and (optional)NoirShares.conf Step 5 Install new QT, unzip new QT, or build new Qt. Allow to sync to block height found at http://nrs.argakiig.usStep 6 If keys were dumped in step 1 Help > Debug Window > Console type "importprivkey <privkey from 1a>", Repeat for each private key. (Note: Qt can appear to hang during import step this is normal as block-chain is being checked for address to update balance with) Do i really need to dump private keys and all this jazz? I just backed up the wallet file and deleted everything else. New client is installed and re-downloading the blockchain... looks good so far. If you delete everything but the wallet.dat you shouldnt have any issues. this was more of a CYA then anything else. Plus if you dumpprivkeys you have a backup of your wallet and could essentially make a paper wallet if you wanted. Just a thought Hope this helps

I have finally downloaded the new wallet but it doesn't seem to ever finish syncing. Right now it says "3229 blocks remaing", may say "500 blocks remaining" for a bit, then will go right back to 3229 again. The coins I had in my wallet already are showing as unconfirmed also. Any suggestions?
I had the same problem and what I had to do was completely restart the syncing of my wallet. If you go back this thread you can find the instructions on how to restart your wallet. When I followed the steps to resync, my wallet restarted from first block. I didn't have shares in my wallet yet so I didn't have to worry about reclaiming shares. Even though the first step told me skip down I still had to do all the steps in order for mine to work. I will find the topic for you and repost. Hope this helps.
