41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DCM] Digital Commerce*MULTIPOOL*100% POS First Focused Multi-vendor Devs on: June 13, 2014, 09:41:24 PM

Well, the crazy thing is that every day new coins are released and about 90% of them seem to have a shelf-life of 2-3 weeks with a single pump (followed by a dump) comprising the bulk of their activity after which they sort of fade out.

It is this reason why I'm convinced that a well-executed, long-term strategy can bring mad value to investors (as supposed to day traders). This is our goal with DCM and XBC and we'll work hard to make it happen.

Hopefully. XBC was of course pumped and dumped, however, but it's still hanging in there.

Actually XBC is doing much better than the current price would have you think. We have a solid team in place, processes established and have covered a lot of ground towards our next deliverables. Also, the XBC community, while not huge is large enough and dedicated enough to get stuff done and has generated an amazing amount of good ideas for us. Of course, now DCM gets to leverage most of that ... so it could work out really well.

I am convinced that if we simply keep up delivering good work, our day in the sun will come; it's just sort of impossible to predict *when* that will be.

Hello XBC community.....DCM investor here.  Just wanted to pop in and say "HI", and I believe this will be a nice joint venture that will benefit both coins in the very near future.

Since the announcement last night, I have decided to become a small investor of XBC (not much, but it's a start).
Welcome, you'll find the XBC community a nice bunch. We have lots of things going on, check our our community forums under https://xbcplus.com/community and say Hi there as well.
43  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DCM] Digital Commerce*MULTIPOOL*100% POS First Focused Multi-vendor Devs on: June 13, 2014, 08:41:06 PM

+1.  And I for one, would love to be part of a stable coin for once.  There aren't too many out there (BTC, BC, VTC).  The notion of being able to set it and forget it would be awesome, instead of having to check every day to make sure that the coin hasn't lost 80% of it's value.

I'd probably expect some instability for now, but if it gets 2x ipo prices with decent volume, I'd hope it could be stable for a while. We'll find out.

I get what you mean about checking coins to make sure they are still worth something. I used to just put my spare btc (which wasn't very much) into Drk, which was stable for months on end (less stable now, but primarily upwards movement). It was nice not worrying that a coin's value would fall apart.

For everything else though, I have this dread whenever I check the exchanges each day.

This is our goal with DCM and XBC and we'll work hard to make it happen.

wish some day the price of DCM could rise as high as XBC did  Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

It probably will. Be patient, you can't expect these things to happen overnight if you want the growth to be sustainable.

I will do an nice blog post tomorrow for DCM..Just getting past a migraine and some computer woes..The Coin is looking healthy now.

Thanks Qi, it's appreciated.

This is pretty exciting. This could really turn into something great. I've actually been wondering what it would be like if two currencies began working together. This will be exciting, and great for both coins

It might be time for me to reconsider a position in XBC again.  Might be nice to hold both.

Edited to add:  I also wondered what it would be like for two coins to work together, and I'm surprised its taken this long for someone to do it.

Thank you Merk, Legacy, And Steady for understanding the benefits of this collaboration. Our teams appreciate all your kind words. The XBC and DCM communities will be much stronger working together than apart. Holding both coins is not a bad thing, it is a good one. Now back to work for me, have a good night/day everyone!

I just want to say that we're all very happy that the communities from both DCM and XBC have reacted in an extremely positive manner to our announcement. It has managed to push DCM's price up to just around IPO level and also XBC seems to have gained a little. We are positive that this collaboration will help both coins move forward.

Like KreativeKrypto said, head over to the XBC community forums at https://xbcplus.com/community/ and introduce yourself. XBC has an active community with some really active and creative members.

I know everybody wants a higher coin price, but we're up almost 100% from the low (+- 0.0005) of a few days ago. Lets take this as a positive sign for the future work together on the both coin's success.
47  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]BitcoinPlus (XBC) / MANDATORY WALLET UPDATE / BIT-ADOPTION! on: June 13, 2014, 07:02:22 PM
I assume in this partnership with DCM there is no access to their ipo funds, correct? Probably wishful thinking...

The partnership makes sense for a couple of reasons. Besides similar goals, there are some shared team members too.

I see the coin has quietly been moving up on MP. #7 now, and it looks like within a week it'll be top 5. A little extra push, be it from paid votes or contests, and I think it could move up pretty quickly.

I mentioned it before, but the contest thing is how coins get voted up real fast. If any XBC whales want a bigger return on their investment, offer up a tiny portion of XBC per vote. There are a couple of free crypto giveaway forums where these things are run too, so it can be a form of marketing as well.

Yes, access to IPO funds is wishful thinking :-)

We may get some mintpal voting help soon though.

In light of the recent collaboration announcement with DCM, I would like to encourage everybody to vote for DCM on Poloniex.

Thank you for doing so, it will benefit both our coins in the long run.

BITCOINPLUS (XBC) AND DIGITAL COMMERCE (DCM)
JOIN FORCES IN VENDOR ADOPTION PROGRAM

Digital Commerce (DCM) and BitcoinPlus (XBC) are two young altcoins who have each faced a successful launch and ICD (Initial Coin Distribution), followed by a distinct set of hardships. It is a credit to both coins that they prevailed during bleak times and that their development teams and communities took the situation as a challenge to move their respective projects forward.

Digital Commerce has prevailed over the irresponsible behavior of one of it's former developers but the resulting negative attention has overshadowed the successful completion of it's ICD (Initial Coin Distribution) and the positive spirit which prevailed after this successful launch. The result was that many initial investors sold their coins which resulted in a sharp drop of the coin price, pushing it well below the ICD level.

BitcoinPlus was left in dire straits when the original developer abandoned the project without a fully working wallet and took the bulk of the ICD funds with him. From the excited community which had already gathered around the coin, a new team was formed and managed to produce a new PoS wallet and website while organizing the community into action on many fronts so that the coin's standing could be improved while not having access to any ICD funds.

Both coins have mastered their respective crises and are determined to move forward but now face a more difficult market position than was initially anticipated. While these coins are on many levels very similar, the difference in the number of coins available for each coin suggest that they will be aimed at and used in different market segments. It is the similar but complementary nature of these coins which suggests that they can coexist next to each other without competing against one another.

It is against this background that the development teams of both coins have decided to join forces on their vendor adoption program as a method of leveraging each others strength. After careful deliberation, both teams came to the conclusion that such a collaboration will create a win-win situation for both coins.

Specifically, both coins vendor recruitment programs will continue to exist as separate entities but vendors will be encouraged to accept both coins rather than just one. In addition to this, both coins will make use of the vendor portal which is to be developed, helping each other to attract consumers and to provide a broad range of products for sale.

The respective support communities will remain separate in an effort to allow them to develop and maintain their separate identities.

Under this agreement, Digital Commerce gains the following benefits:

  • Access to preliminary source code for the vendor portal which has been developed by the XBC team so far
  • Access to the payment gateway integration which has been negotiated by the DCM team
  • Access to XBC's strong community for use in the vendor recruitment programs

while BitcoinPlus gains the following benefits:

  • Access to the final vendor portal which will be developed under direction of the DCM team
  • Access to the payment gateway integration which has been negotiated by the DCM team
  • Access to a seasoned marketing and public relations officer

Both teams strongly believe that this agreement allows each coin to build on it's respective strengths while leveraging the strengths and advantages of the other coin and it's team. We feel that such an approach to the market will be more successful than keeping the respective vendor recruitment programs projects separated.

“We build too many walls and not enough bridges.”

Dev what's the latest news in development? What's the next step to furthering this coin, expanding our community?

I know you guys are hard at work, but I've noticed the most successful coins are those with a very present development team, keeping the investors updated and maintaining confidence.

At its current price it's a steal, and I'm already in profit which is not hard since I bought at floor level but this coin has potential to deliver 10-100x the price it is now.

Here's what's going on:
  • We're getting some marketing materials drafted/designed
  • We're getting the marketplace UI designed
  • We're in talks to people to hire for the marketplace development
  • We're evaluating software for a community site/forum
  • We're talking every day among each other, refining strategy and details

There's probably more that I'm forgetting right now, but that's a quick list.

Expect an update on the site design hopefully tomorrow.

Thank you for the post bump merk475. At least someone is paying attention. Its getting a little annoying that the developers are spending their time replying to a troll when my wallet critique went unnoticed and my post about staking went, for the most part, unanswered.

I spoke yesterday with the developer and told me he had in mind what you said about the wallet for future updates.

I think the team must stablish 1 or 2 days a week (always the same days) which to report the news. So we are not asking every day.
Guys ignore bob, just looking for attention.

I trust in the long term and will be alert news about the community and the video. I think it is vital that the community grow before arriving at poloniex (10-15 days).

Yes, we have entered your issues into a spreadsheet for issues. We will be upgrading to real bug tracker any day now and will take your issues along. Sorry that you didn't get any feedback, it's been a few busy days.

I am still watching dcm, keep up the good work guys.

What good work?? Where?? The only ones doing any good work for DCM and Serious, AhumanbeingX and aszu... The rest are just losers who are slowly siphoning what;s left of the IPO btc!

The only thief here is you. But since you said that you will be travelling the world to tell people about DCM (emphasis on future tense) let me tell you very clearly: You are no longer on the team, you have no mandate to represent DCM and I hereby ask you officially to return your IPO funds to a project member of your choice.
53  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DCM] Digital Commerce*MULTIPOOL*100% POS First Focused Multi-vendor Devs on: June 12, 2014, 07:01:00 PM
DCM dead ?  Only about 3btc volume daily in bittrex .
What is Devs' plan next step.

Are the IPO/dev block chain addresses available? Talk alone is pretty cheap at this point, and I'm speaking about the altcoin world in general.

Yes, several pages back.

Thank you for all the wallet suggestions they have been recorded and most added to the agenda as well as some internal ideas.

I checked those adresses Kreative. Urs is still filled, but the other two devs already emptied them again. I believe you guys, but the thing is... we need to make other new investors believe you too. Just like sdersdf2 said... In todays cryptoworld all IPO-funds should be as transparent as possible. That is also what you first promised in the OP during IPO, that's the promiss that people invested in.

Let me reiterate the IPO addresses:

KreativeKrypto: 1C5c3TrVD5AMcBK5ayqQ11BNtPfB5u2SK4 (already posted yesterday)
Wallenstein: 14Hu2iKL6Q3aWZzeTvvJLSYy5hcNRobN2v
AHumanBeingX: 19hd97CPw6g3wTgPud2X6b4RzbbTTB6YJc
Aszu: 14auAPVYoCjDe3ptVGwmyzQNXdHu4vwCJL
SeriousCoins: can't get to him right now, will provide later today

Serious has assured me though that he has not misappropriated any funds and I've know him long enough to trust his word.

Let me address 1 comment of yours in particular:

Quote
but the other two devs already emptied them again

I'm assuming you're referring to my address (14Hu2iKL6Q3aWZzeTvvJLSYy5hcNRobN2v) whose blockchain info also confused me.

Frist what you see is that I received 2 payments of 22.2698 BTC. This was of course in error and one of those payments was sent on to AHumanBeingX as his part of the IPO share. You then see a withdrawal of 2 BTC and another apparent withdrawal of 20.2698 BTC. However, the only real withdrawal shown on that page is 2 BTC.

I was confused myself of the way the blockchain displays this info as well, but I talked to our wallet/blockchain expert (whom I consider Dr. Wallet and Prof. Blockchain) and he assured me that this was quite normal. The remaining sum, after subtracting 2BTC from the original amount, is returned to the wallet. An outsider looking at the blockchain can not tell whether this amount was returned or sent somewhere else. He knows 100x more about this stuff than I do so I'll take his word on this. The only thing I can assure you is that this page only displays a withdrawal of 2BTC.

I hope this settles the issue. I'm getting sort of tired of having to explain myself here every 2 days. If we wanted to scam you we would have taken the funds, ran away and you would have never heard from us again.
54  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DCM] Digital Commerce*MULTIPOOL*100% POS First Focused Multi-vendor Devs on: June 12, 2014, 10:53:16 AM
Is the wallet containing the #1 address on the rich list holding 914,627.42 DCM unlocked and minting?

I was wondering how the weight works. The network weight is 181. Does this mean that everyone that has an unlocked wallet get a portion of that cumulative weight? Or is 181 the average weight meaning that some wallets have higher than 181 and some have lower?

Also, does having multiple addresses with different balances help or hurt your chances of minting? Does your weight reflect your entire balance or just one of your addresses?

Also please stop replying to people that are here to do nothing but hinder growth of DCM.

EDIT: Also, i hope that the developers saw my wallet review.

That wallet is that of Bittrex. I dont assume they mint, right?

No, the Bittrex Wallet does not mint.

What are the dev's incentives to keep working on their coin? I mean, how are they getting paid during the co,img months in which the coins features will be developed?

They bought coins too...
They have all the reason to make the coin go bigger and bigger...

Our incentive is very simple: we are all heavily invested into DCM. If we can make our plan work out, we will be generously rewarded. We carry the same risk and incentives as our investors.

I personally won't tell you how many coins I'm holding (that really is a private matter) but I'll tell you that my holdings place me in the top-3 of the richlist.

Really, top 3 richlist?? how come you told me in skype that you sold all your coins.. you offered to buy the coins I was selling  "in case jeremy can pull this off" and "as a high risk investment"

so rich list or sold them all??
Please advise!!

If you want I can remind you of our conversation by posting it here.. just let me know if you want me to do that or need a reminder.

Yes Bob. Top3 richlist. And yes, I wanted to to buy your 45K coins off you, at a discount, to which you responded that you wanted 10BTC for them when the market value at that point was 2.5BTC. So I passed your delusional offer and bought them on the open market. At this point you sound like a sorry bagholder; did you spend the IPO money buying high because you were stupid enough fall for the fake mintpal scammer? Sure sounds like it. So much for being a great trader.

I had invested considerably in the IPO and sold about 2/3 at 0.3, doubling my initial investment. The rest I held. Then when the price went to 1/2 IPO, I bought more. And I've been buying more here and there as our plans have taken shape and I've become ever more convinced that if we manage to pull them off it'll be absolutely huge. It's all very simple. You claim to be a great trader, I'm not totally devoid of brains either. At least grant me that.

Also, if any of our investors question my investment into DCM after Bob's comments, that is very simple to resolve. I am willing to share a screenshot of my holdings with one of our trusted supporters so that while they do not divulge the exact amount of my holdings, they can confirm that my holdings place me on the top3 of the richlist.

Investors, speak up. If you want this done, it will be done.

Why DCM/BTC Bittrex's market has been disabled ?

Not sure, but noticed some oddities before they disabled it -- such as new orders not showing up on the order list.

Annoyingly I see Bittrex won't let you cancel an order when a market has been disabled. I expect it's a minor thing, but rather not get some orders filled if it's a real problem.

Well, I don't know but bittrex was down earlier today, might have something to do with that.

EDIT: looking into it
57  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DCM] Digital Commerce*MULTIPOOL*100% POS First Focused Multi-vendor Devs on: June 11, 2014, 11:18:26 PM

First of all, I don't think anybody ever mentioned 6 months. That is beyond our planning horizon right now.

I mentioned 3-6 months based off of this statement:

Hang tight, the next 3-6 months development wise are going to be worth every moment of uncertainty and doubt this community may have. Thank you everyone, Digital Commerce has just begun.

I do realize software development takes time. I just think you either need to release firm plans with details, or release something outside of your initial plans, sooner than that timeframe. This is a place where if a dev doesn't post for a couple of days, people wonder if he died. Months may be too long for some here to wait. You also need to add intrinsic value to the coin if you do wish them to wait.

OK, I think Kreative may have been inaccurate in what he said. The vendor portal should be here in less than 3 months.

We have longer term plans which will have a huge impact, but we for those we need the vendor portal first. Those longer term plans are probably on the order or 6 months away.

Also, nobody said that we won't release updates; we're here every day communicating and answering questions. It's been like a week since launch and although we'd like to be, we're not miracle workers. So please bear with us while we dig through the mountain of work we have ahead of us.
58  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DCM] Digital Commerce*MULTIPOOL*100% POS First Focused Multi-vendor Devs on: June 11, 2014, 09:36:20 PM
Hmm... thought Bob was going away for a few days there. I think he's the only example of a paid team member working as an anti-marketing team. Of course he's an ex-member, but you know what I mean.

Yes, it's an unfortunate situation but it is what it is and we'll make the best of it.

I am out of the coin (again), as my sell order got hit. I actually got out of it the other day, but a low order was hit and I was sort of sitting on them for a little while. I may buy in again, depending on what the price does. I do need to reevaluate my trading strategy, as I'm out with only like a 10-20% profit (and it wasn't a giant initial investment to begin with), but I need to take into account unforeseen and totally unexpected circumstances when calculating when to buy/sell. I would have never guessed the Bob situation to occur, for instance. So I guess it's a good learning experience.

Trust me, that one was a learning experience for all of us.

A couple of things have bugged me a little bit about this coin, which I am hoping the devs can shed more light on. Based on answers, I may get back in.

First off, I asked specifically early on before the ipo was over as to what percentage of funds the devs would take for themselves. I was given the answer that they'd take nothing direct from the ipo for themselves, it'd all go towards the coin itself. Bob answered this, I believe, so one could question his honesty. But no other team members corrected him, and I will assume they had to discuss what they'd each get beforehand anyway.

After the ipo, they posted they'd each take 2 btc for their efforts. It's a fair amount, but it does almost feel like the rules are being made up as they go along. I'd rather they would have said up front how much each was getting, and not after I was told they'd not take any at all.

I'm just not going to comment on what Bob said. We each took 2BTC for ourselves which I think is a fair amount. The remaining money will be spent on activities directly related to advancing the coin.

I asked about vendors, and Bob spouted out a long list, including gift cards and jewelry. I ask after he leaves, and am told the dev team doesn't know what info Bob provided earlier, and I'm given somewhat vague information. Too much info given is vague... marketplace is fine, but no real answer as to vendors, or how the team will provide an incentive for anyone to shop there. Will DCM people get a discount, why will anyone wish to use DCM over other coins, or just shopping at amazon directly? Those are the answers I'd like to see.

At this point we're throwing around lots of ideas and a discount for DCM is definitely something we are discussing (among lots of other things). I have my own opinion on Bob's vendor list and as far as I know, no specifics were ever mentioned by him. You draw your own conclusion on that; I know I've drawn mine.

We are getting ready to draft support materials which will outline to vendors what their potential benefits are for accepting DCM and will release those when they're ready.

I also question the timetable the team is using. Saying great things are planned 3-6 months from now is all well and good, but that assumes the coin survives 3-6 months from now. Buy support is... well, let's just say not good. I am assuming the multipool is what is keeping the price where it is now, based on the order history. The team needs to add some intrinsic value to the coin now, not 3-6 months from now. People in cryptoland aren't that patient.

I don't mean for this to sound overly negative, and again, may get back in, but I'd like to see real answers, not so many vague statements about future plans.

First of all, I don't think anybody ever mentioned 6 months. That is beyond our planning horizon right now.

Further, you can question the timetable all you want, but the reality of the situation is that we have a lot of work to do. I've done Software for 20+ years and eCommerce for 10+ years and understand the effort and pitfalls involved. Yes, we could announce a timeline of 4 weeks, but the chance of ending up looking stupid for doing so are too big. Please understand this: We're trying to give you *realistic* times, not pie-in-the-sky times. Our goal is to beat those estimates and be able to pleasantly surprise people, but I we're playing it safe for now.

Yes, crypto is fickle, but we'll get there and in the end, it will pay off; I'm quite certain of that.

Also, I'd like to reiterate something I posted earlier today: we are all heavily invested into DCM. It is in our own interest to make this work.
59  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DCM] Digital Commerce*MULTIPOOL*100% POS First Focused Multi-vendor Devs on: June 11, 2014, 08:48:09 PM
Hello good people,

Many of you who I've spoken with via pm and through other channels are aware of the work we are currently putting in to ensure Digital Commerce has a bright future. I want you all to know that much of what we will announce over the coming days/weeks/months is actually just part of a bigger project that resides at the core. The core idea, without making us look pompous, is so magnificent in scope and imagination that when complete every one of us including our team will be rewarded beyond anything we have seen in the altcoin world. The multi-vendor site is a huge undertaking, yet this is still just a piece of the finished product. Our supporters I cannot thank enough, your kind words over the last week have made the hundreds of hours we put into this worth every minute.

Many of you have expressed an opinion that I myself share, crypto is fickle, sometimes petty even. DCM will be what is referred to as a "sleeping giant". Our team is prepping the road right now for this "giant" as it will need a very large and carefully orchestrated foundation to stand on. Those of you that have been here since launch and IPO will be the most rewarded as you are currently helping this dev team carry the torch. The ups and downs then eventually near perpetual rising of DCM will be our "thank you" to those that hung in even when times look grim.

Hang tight, the next 3-6 months development wise are going to be worth every moment of uncertainty and doubt this community may have. Thank you everyone, Digital Commerce has just begun.

That's exciting to hear!  I can't wait to see what the future holds.  And for anyone that's selling right now because the price is below the IPO....think about this.  You're down anyway.....and this coin IS NOT going to zero, so why not hold and see what happens?  Patience is tough in the crypto world, but when you have a good dev team with a BTC budget to work with.....is there really anything better for a young coin?  Go look at your options.  There really aren't any that are EQUAL/LOWER risk then DCM.

I just want to reiterate that the coin will DEFINITELY not go to zero, for the simple reason that there are price levels at which we will step in and use a part of the IPO funds to stabilize the price. We accept that investing carries with it risk and while we can't completely shield our investors from such risk, we will not let them suffer catastrophic losses.

And you know this for a fact? I would like to see proof of that. It's just that I want to have all the info before investing in something. I recognize wallenstein and serious from XBC by the way...

I've just replied to your previous post. I view my coin holdings as a private matter. But I'll give you my word on it that what I've told you is true. If hope that is good enough for you. If it isn't then you also have to doubt everything we've been telling you about our plans (which are also true).

BTW, I think your question is entirely legitimate and hope I've at least answered it to your satisfaction.
