42  Economy / Speculation / 200 Day Simple MA tells the story on: May 22, 2021, 03:38:55 PM
https://www.tradingview.com/x/9Ew1Xm1q/

The 200 day simple MA tells the story.

From the chart you can see that there were 2 times in the past when price went below the 200 day SMA

Feb 18 to April 19

Nov 19 to Apri 20

The third time is now.  You can see how far away price has gotten away from the 200 day SMA recently gotten away from it.

I and others can not tell you where price will go from here.  But, if we stay in the $35 - $40 area for awhile, I think the bottom is in.

43  Economy / Speculation / Re: Winter is here.... on: May 22, 2021, 04:24:46 AM

If the bears are coming, then so be it. I will still hold my coins for some time and I will buy more if the price is getting down for deep. I already take my profit before. I am okay with what happened to the market, but I still want to profit from the market to wait for more. I still hope that some altcoins can increase to give me the profit to get the money from the investment.

If we are not selling any coins in the bear trend, we only lose the value of the coin and that value can back increase in the future. But if you sell the coins, that will make you worry if you can not make a profit in the future because you can be late to buy back the coins.
This kind of situation will really test our mentality as traders, because in this bearish market condition, not a few traders experience panic and do Cut Loses (CL) to minimize losses, even though if you think about doing CL, it will worsen market conditions because the selling volume that occurs is getting higher, from the experience so far, when the price of bitcoin or crypto is falling, of course the whale will collect a large amount of bitcoin and will most likely push the price back up, and like you, I prefer to keep my assets on the exchange instead of having to CL and suffer a number of losses, because I am very confident that the bulls will come again.
That happens to some of my friends who can not hold their coins, even we already tell them not to selling their coins. I admitted that the reason why they do that is that they need to make money from trading. Some of them use limited money and they need to survive from trading and they think fast to cut losses before the losses become bigger.

The crypto market will be back like before and we only need to be patient. The whales themselves try to accumulate more amount by buying the coin at a low price and that is their benefits because they have a lot of money that various potential coins can buy.

History repeats itself.  Starting in the mid 90s day trading became a big thing.  Many went broke, some killed themselves, some killed other and then killed themselves.

46  Economy / Speculation / Re: Winter is here.... on: May 20, 2021, 09:00:23 PM
Yes, a winter of 2-3 years is coming, if you don't believe this you will lose all your money, you need to understand how to play this game, holding is just a good idea if you really don't care about the invested money.

Bears are in control.

I don't agree.  This decline got rid of the people who were using extreme leverage and problems on exchanges prevented the people who wanted to buy to get on and buy.

We will see a base of about $42K forming and then up from there.
47  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Latest FUD from Elon Musk: Tesla Has Diamond Hands on: May 19, 2021, 07:39:36 PM
"Diamond hands," as KnowYourMeme explains, is a reference to "traders who believe in the eventual profitability of their stocks and securities and keep holding them while their value drops."

https://www.businessinsider.co.za/elon-musk-tweets-diamond-hands-meme-as-bitcoin-crash-continues-2021-5?r=US&IR=T

So he is effectively saying..... no matter what happens to Bitcoin, you should hold onto it... because it still has potential to bounce back and that is what is going to happen in the future.  Grin

Thanks

This guy is really a clown and he's making fun of us all, we have to let this clown know that he can't fool us anymore! His credibility is zero, he should fly to Mars alone and leave us alone once for good. His tweets are like poop. A master of manipulation.

https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1395027147161489412

I don't understand a lot of social media talk.

Can you explain it to me?

Seriously, I don't.

How can you understand when you did not even make the attempt to click on the link and see where it takes you, this is not a big deal, this is link to Elon's tweet and when you click on it,  it will take you to with website twitter or app to access the information share , there is nothing so difficult to understand.
What do you mean I didn't click on the link?

OK I googled 'diamond hands'

49  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is someone worried about the recent decline of BTC? on: May 19, 2021, 07:17:12 PM

I hope I will be wrong, but I think it might go back down to 38,000 teritorry, if that happens then we just proved that Bitcoin can be possibly hyped by one person or company and it might be sometime again that another personality or company will push again Bitcoin to the next ATH. What would people feel if they bought bitcoin when it was at the top, thinking it will go up further only to find out that their investment will now be lower and they sell their bitcoins at a loss? If you have not sold your BTC, don't sell it. The fun has just begun.

Don't worry, I've holdings at 58K and have never sold them. What's more important is that we have extra funds to buy the dip once that happens Smiley

I'm down 25% on my crypto about the price of a Tesla.
50  Economy / Speculation / Watch the 200MA For Good News - Risk Stocks on: May 19, 2021, 02:35:45 PM
I looked at the chart for the crypto I own and they all are above the 200ma except for BTC.

The 200 day ma for crypto is $39,800.  If it closes (NYT 4pm) at or above that number it could be the base beginning.

The risk is the stock market.  If, stock continue to decline that could cause some to sell stocks and crypto.

Also, there might be margin calls.
51  Other / Meta / Re: Is there a way to get notified when I log in if someone quotes me in a thread? on: May 18, 2021, 10:41:58 PM
I don't get how this is at all an acceptable solution.. sure given the means to work with, it's quite elegant, but come on, a telegram bot for something as trivial as notifications?

This should have been a base functionality years ago and the fact that it still isn't is nothing short of embarrassing.
Now that I think about it, how would the native notifications work? I mean, if you are away from your computer with just your phone or smart watch, how would you know when someone is talking to you? Maybe through email? Otherwise, you would probably still need to visit the forum to find out where you've been mentioned, which isn't ideal for me.

Most forums give you too much info.  When I've logged into other forums there would be a little number next to your name which represented the number of times you got quoted since your last login.  Click on the number and it would show you the thread.

My guess is that this function is included with the forum program.

It is important to me so that I can read the reply to me someone took the time to write.
52  Other / Meta / Re: Is there a way to get notified when I log in if someone quotes me in a thread? on: May 18, 2021, 04:07:11 PM
Yes. You can get notified by your telegram accounts and/or you can also get notified in your forum inbox. You have to subscribe the custom bot. Let me find the link and update.

That seems like a lot of work.  In so many other forum's software there is just a little notification that shows up that you have been quoted.  Can't the forum owner activate that?

That's the question.

55  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bear Market started - 16 May 2021 on: May 17, 2021, 01:50:11 AM
And yes, it finally started, from now Bitcoin will start going down, it will not be as 2018 but we will see a downtrend in the next 3 months, if you already made money is time to sell.

You can't use weekend numbers.  This week will be telling.  Don't be surprised by a big up Monday.
56  Economy / Speculation / Re: By Friday 5/21 we might be thanking Elon! on: May 16, 2021, 11:09:45 PM
Or we could be on the verge of the next crypto bust cycle that happens after every boom, and Elon had nothing to do with it.  Smiley
Did the last bust cycle decline as fast as this one or was it more gradual?

If you don't know; tell me the time period and I'll look at it.  Thanks

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin/

Just look at the chart, of every previous BTC peak, usually the drop start within 3 months of the peak.

Thanks,  I see what you mean - 2017.

There was also that 2019 period where it bounced around before taking off in 2020

I get a nose bleed when I look at the long term chart.  But a lot of crypto is like that.

What do you think about this guy and his prediction?  He runs the only BTC headge fund that I know about.

58  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor One/ Trezor Model T questions.. on: May 16, 2021, 09:59:07 PM
Thank you all!
So as long as your wallet is a Bit39, you can use your 24 seed word to get your coins off of the blockchain.
I "think" I'm starting to get it... slowly like a caveman, hahahaha

When I get my new Trezor Model T, I might be asking a few more questions.

Thanks!

I agree.  I tried to give out some merits but I don't have any.

The thing with the seed words, in my mind, is not to get too crazy with trying to hide them from others.  There are people who lost them, forgot where they put them or died without telling anyone where they are.

59  Economy / Speculation / By Friday 5/21 we might be thanking Elon! on: May 16, 2021, 09:32:48 PM
We might be thanking Elon by Friday.

Looking across all the cryptos there were many that went up too far too fast e.g. ETH, BCH

Elon has taken that froth out of the market.  And, possibly, put crypto on a slower, steadier, upward path.

To see if that is true we need to ride out this week.
60  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor One/ Trezor Model T questions.. on: May 16, 2021, 04:35:57 PM
There have been great answers before me so there's not much I can add that hasn't been said before me (regarding your query). I would just like to let you know that your Model T / Model One hardware device (as dkbit98 said) doesn't actually hold any kind of coins - most people choose using hardware wallets because all the seed words are generated in an external and safe environment ("inside" your Model T / Model one device). By using such device you ensure that no one is going to know what are your private keys because they were all "conceived" in an external device that isn't connected to the internet.

Since these devices only allow you to "unlock" your balance on the blockchain - by using your private keys - you can easily recover access to your coins in the blockchain provided that you still have the seed words that were used in the process of setting up your device. Always make sure that you access the real website of Trezor in order to manage your assets - https://wallet.trezor.io - They will NEVER ask you to enter your seed words, so please be very careful where you put them / store them.

Let's say your first hardware device is a either of the Trezor models.  Can you use your seed words on another company's hardware device??

Thanks
