I think the ubq move is based on having a 1st token launched on the chain.
The more tokens the chain has, and the chain will become more valuable.
Ubiq has a was to go but with tremendous upside potential. Don't get caught in those bear traps 100K here we come

Ubiq has 2 tokens QWARK and now APX but yes we intend on growing the platform through tokens and dApps. This is just the beginning.

Warning: Block and report the troll ARTISTCOLONY aka previous user Gembitz

It looks like the account ARTISTCOLONY is now trolling this thread with lies.

Some history is that user would DM me every day about how he invented drum and bass and made love to the Grateful Dead every night on the tour bus. It's a weird situation that I would just ignore.

I'm a relatively public person and he thinks I know him or something.  He also mentions he has mental issues.  That part is pretty sad.

To top it all off he is an extortionist and a scammer making up lies in an attempt to get coin groups to pay him for leaving.

anyway this is a repost:

Trolls on this Bitcointalk thread

Just to recap:
We made a conscious decision to make this an unmoderated thread.  As such it is open to the public to act as they please so take anything you read from a random poster with a grain of salt.  The Ubiq team and community does not engage in using sock puppet Bitcointalk accounts.  There are pros and cons with this unmoderated approach but we maintain our viewpoint that we are a long term project and there will be short term and long term people involved with the coin.  We are primarily focussed on the long term participants.

The best place to interact with the community is Ubiq Slack.  Sign up at: http://slack.ubiqsmart.com/

Here is what you can do to counteract trolls.

1. Ignore them.
2. Report them to the Bitcointalk moderators. With enough reports from different people, the moderators will listen and delete their comments and/or ban their accounts.

After you Ignore a user it looks much more pleasant like this. Cheesy

Unfortunately there are only so many shifts that a person can work at Walmart per week as a "Part Time Associate". This leaves certain individuals with a lot of time on their hands during the day.  As a group, we can do what we can to combat this.
44  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][UBQ] Ubiq - Smart Contracts For An Automated World on: May 28, 2017, 08:20:28 PM
I've been looking into this coin, but I fail to see what this has to offer that isn't already being done.

What will make this project stick and not just fade away into obscurity like most shit coins?

Looking through the pages all I see is talk of price, which makes me think that it will just be a typical pump and dump.

Do you have any evidence to present that could convince me otherwise?

Do note that I am not trying to shit on this project, I think the name and logo and stuff look great, I'm just failing to see a need for this coin and I have to be super sceptical before I even consider putting money into anything.

Do your research ... You will find that it has huge upside potential!

Ubq is to eth what Ltc is to Bitcoin ... No pump n dump here!

Maybe one of the most underrated alts IMHO  Cool

this coin is tained by cryptsy ~ they steal peoples coins ... bittrex insiders :\

omg is this real? because i think ubiq is unique coin with eth technology. Please confirm since i invest in this coin.

New Bitcointalk account from scammer "gembitz" is "ARTISTCOLONY". Spreading lies and slander.  Please block him and report his lies to moderators.

Did the DAG file increase in size recently?
Surfing through my mining logs, I noticed the GPU mem utilization has increased from 1088 MB to 2084 MB on 26th May 20:30:45 GMT, right when the new DAG epoch #125 was set and GPU buffer created.

The DAG file should still be very small since the block time is 88 seconds. DAG only grows each epoch which is 30k blocks. We are on block 119,270.

Coinigy - Ubiq ($UBQ) Wallet Address & Token Tracking Now Available

We have been working with the team at Coinigy and you can now track your Ubiq and tokens wallet balances with their site.

Details: Add your Ubiq key, visit the Accounts page and select “Add New Wallet Address”, choose Ubiq and assign a nickname, and finally enter your public key. Coinigy will automatically track your UBQ as well as token balances such as APX and QWARK.

Anyone else having a issue checking stats on http://ubiqpool.io ? it will not load at all for me when I enter my wallet address. Tried two separate computers on different networks

I've had issues the past few days with my account only showing a blank page, checked from several rigs but the same problem. My account has shown since this morning though.

At the time, I could sort of verify I was mining by seeing that I was getting shares accepted and still receiving payments to my wallet.

With the influx of new users and investors, the block explorer has been struggling to keep up. Luke is planning to improve on this in the near future. Unfortunately when it goes down the stats page doesn't work on the pool, and Angel is working on finding a different place to pull pricing from so this is less likely to happen.

These are good problems to have though! This means that more users are getting involved.

Luke has made some improvements to the block explorer. TLDR is some things weren't optimized too well such as some database lookups. It should all be working better now.

Hey Sud, it's never too late. Jump on Slack and say hi.
52  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][UBQ] Ubiq - Smart Contracts For An Automated World on: May 17, 2017, 05:39:13 AM
My browser tells me ubiqsmart.com is not a safe website. Probably due to certificate which is not correct?

This doesn't look to me as a valid serious coin

.. Yeah it's a SSL expiration since Luke uses Let's Encrypt for the SSL which is free but expires every 3 months.

I sent him a message to get it fixed.

Thanks for the report.

Pyrus.. Coming soon

Pyrus will be our fork of MyEtherWallet.

Lots of people use MEW with Ethereum since the chain is so big. Our current desktop GUI wallet is Fusion which works great with fast sync times.  Pyrus will give people the option of transacting UBQ and tokens such as QWARK and APX on the Ubiq network the same way as people use MEW to transfer ETH.

The image above shows a successful transaction.

Link to the TX: https://ubiqscan.io/en/tx/0xfade3abe94aa14b824964c9be9168c3967083e65b248ab59cfd20c2e84553e59

We will be performing some more rebranding, integration work and testing before launching this live.

Coming soon!

UBIQ is just a fork right? And usually Poloniex donot list clone right?
ETC, EXP, UBIQ, MUSICOIN are all ETH forks.  2 of those are listed on Poloniex.

This is why I've moved all my trading to Bittrex, actually.
Ubiq and other worthless shitcoins are not listed on polo for a reason. ETC and EXP are listed because they might have potential.

Theres more to the story than that....

But either way, ill thank them for giving me tons of free money by "making" etc Wink

So far Poloniex has added 2 coins (Golem and Pascal) with Gnosis soon.  So they have launched 2 coins in 2017 so far.

They may be due to start adding new coins since they delisted around 18 coins recently.

Feel free to request Ubiq on Poloniex:

Since Ubiq has some consensus level code changes in the form of new code, those changes would need to be ported over to run on Parity.

But once those changes are in-place, there's no reason why it's not possible to run on Parity.

New release of Gubiq v1.5.11 released

https://github.com/ubiq/go-ubiq/releases/tag/v1.5.11

This release is an optional upgrade but is highly recommended.

This release merges in all the updates to the latest stable releases of Geth v1.5.8 and v1.5.9.

It also contains an optimization for the difficulty algorithm:

  • Speed up CalcPastMedianTime by using block headers

All of the provided binaries are also built using the latest Go 1.8.1.
