How long does the total payout usually take? I only have 90,000 DVC pending so far.

You upload it to an image hosting site like imgur or tinypic, then it will give you a link for image boards and forums. It will look like this without the **'s [*IMG]http://i41.tinypic.com/2uyj7lz.png[/*IMG] And when pasted without the stars will work like this. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fi41.tinypic.com%2F2uyj7lz.png&t=663&c=LZqD5UDF-4FPKA) That is a HORRIBLE idea! We need to own the image, that is, have a copy of it ourselves, not depend on some third party site. -MarkM- It wasn't an 'idea' rather it was just the only way I know to host images on devtome.com. I am not aware that devtome.com has its own image hosting service.

Yeah, he could have divided his dump not to kill the price
Over time won't this become a huge problem? People earn devcoins, want to use them to buy stuff, sell them for BTC, then either buy stuff with the BTC or sell the BTC for fiat. It seems to me that that there is an imbalance here, because no matter how many people think Devcoin is awesome and want to support the project, there are going to be people in it for the earnings and selling off their coins. So what is the solution to this? How can we get people to buy DVC with BTC? The only thing I've seen so far that encourages a net influx of BTC -> DVC is twobit's ASICMINER passthrough, since it buys DVC with the BTC earned. That said, it suffers the same problem, in that people will want to spend their profits in some way. It seems to me that the real solution would be a way for people to spend their DVC directly, without affecting the exchange rate. Thoughts? FinShaggy and I have been saying this for a long time. We need DVC markets and whatnot, or else DVC is nothing more than a token.

This can't be right... is it? This is 10 seconds after starting it. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2Fz6K4CQE.jpg&t=663&c=3TRAMiV1VtimVA) Are you confusing pool shares with actual DGC blocks? Those accepted shares are just the pool shares. Once a block is found, the pool will then divide the coins depending on how many shares were submitted by you and total number of shares submitted by all pool members. No, I am quite aware of the difference. I am just not used to getting shares that fast.

I don't see anything wrong with it, is there a problem?
No problem, just didn't think I would be getting so many shares so fast with a laptop... but if it is correct then awesome!

No problem. Yeah, it is very interesting from what I have read and seen so far.
That's only 1/6 of the discussion ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) If I had more privacy I'd get it all done sooner. Lock yourself in the bathroom with your laptop and write away! Lol.

I'll fix it for you Sorry, the syntax is different on the wiki. In order to post images to the Wiki you need to use the following format. [[http://www.LinkIfClicked.com|{{https://i.imgur.com/bFVXlXp.png}}]] Ok. Look at it now. I fixed it for you Some of the pictures are huge though.

I know it won't be popular overnight - but if we use altcointalk we can then pay devs in DVC to make any requested changes to the forum. The forum itself could be a DVC project and together we could easily make it the most popular altcoin forum out there ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Just my 0.02 DVC Some ways we could make it popular and some advantages of making it a DVC project: - Offer DVC bounties to make innovative changes like UnthinkingBit has suggested - All of us in DVC could add the link to our signture (there is a lot of us now) - I can do a write up on BitcoinPRBUzz - We could add a reputation system similar to that which is found here now - We could even integrate BTC / DVC / LTC tipping into the forum perhaps - and any other cool features we can think of ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) - Devcoin can be the forum sponsor and as it gets more popular more people will be exposed to DVC - I'm sure FinShaggy will get the word out about the forum in a big way ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) Are there any plans on how to increase the market cap for Devcoin? As per http://coinmarketcap.com/There is 4,568,220,050 DVC in circulation right now. The price is $ 0.00016 for a total market cap of $ 733,947. If the coin is worth 1 cent, then the total market cap is $45,682,200. Just for comparison sake, Litecoin is $ 54,747,187. The question is how do we raise the value of the Devcoin when there is an unlimited supply.... This was debated in the last few pages of this thread. But to answer your question looking at DVC from a currency stand point (It is more of a token right now) you have to get the word out to everyone that might be slightly interested. You give the coin a real world value. Set up an online shop where you can pay for everyday stuff in DVC, and that makes it more of a currency than a token, that is, you no longer have to trade it for BTC or USD to be able to spend it. It's a combination of getting the coin attention, and increasing the usability of it. There were debates in earlier pages that suggested demurrage like FreiCoin has, but that was suggested from a token currency standpoint. I think DeVCoin can be more than a token, and therefore do not support the idea of demurrage. Demurrage would give you a specified amount of time to exchange your DVC for BTC or USD, and thus never leaves the opportunity to grow DVC into something more than a token

What do you guys think of my idea:
- I donate the domain altcointalk.org to Devcoin (as long as someone provides hosting and puts up a SMF install) - We can promote it on the Devcoin advertising network and elsewhere and place Devcoin ads on the site - We could have other advertising there too - We can use it as a place to discuss some aspects of Devcoin with less clutter in one thread
If using new domain, I'd think talk.devcoin.org or forum.devcoin.org is better than altcointalk.org Guys when writing on 153 page of this very chaos topic I am wondering - what about a separate DevCoin forum? We could just install BB forum and make our own structure - not "all in one" topic
I can easily setup a smf forum in 3 hours for devcoin, but seems there's no eager to such kind of things ... And we could well promote devcoin via this forum since many people here, if a new forum, how we could drive people to that new one? The reason I don't want a devcoin specific forum is that we would not get more people interested from the rest of the forum. I want to go to a cryptocoin forum that allows all cryptocoins. There is at least one now, but I don't know which one people prefer. Please post cryptocoin forum recommendations here, if we ever get too many recommendations without an obvious winner we'll make a new thread just for deciding which forum to join. An extra thing I'd like from the cryptocoin forum is that they are willing to make/install new features for devcoin shares. For example, I would like a couple of features in a forum: 1) To be able to send a message to an email address, and receive email in the forum inbox. In other words, a forum message to unthinkingbit would go to my forum account, and a message to unthinkingbit@gmail.com would go to my gmail account. 2) When an email comes in which is from an address not on my whitelist (which would include contacts and people I've emailed before), the sender would get a message saying they could pay say 30 cents in a cryptocurrency to send an email to me. This would stop spam, and part of the money would go to maintaining the forum. I think altcointalk would be okay considering what Unthinkingbit said, which I have highlighted. Something with devcoin in the name is not too inviting for all other coins to join up. They could just keep happily residing in the Alternate Cryptocurrencies section of bitcointalk.

Okay, well I haven't had the chance to catch up on all of the posts over memorial day weekend, I was out of town. But I thought I would drop in before I go out to say that I am promoting DVC by writing devcoin.org on all of my cash. Yes, arguably I just committed a crime... but hopefully someone will be like "Wonder what this is?" Then go check it out, and if he tells two friends, and they tell two friends... well you see where it is going.

The email I sent to cryptsy.com:I encourage you to add Devcoin (DVC) to your exchange, I believe it has more legitimacy and backing than a few of the other coins on there. Devcoin is the ethical coin where 90% of all the coins minted go to funding upcoming developers, writers, musicians, artists and much more. Please take my proposal in to consideration.
Thanks. Balthozar
The reply I recieved:I will be adding it to a list of coins to review.
Paul
Guess it's better than a No.
Nice. What is the email address you sent it to? I have an idea ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) support@cryptsy.comHowever, I got a response from a more direct email which is: paulevernon@yahoo.com
