46  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do you think merit is by chance or lengthy article? on: March 25, 2024, 03:31:40 AM
I disagree, there's no criteria or requirement in order to earn merit, just like my post below, I only post two words + image and I got 5 merits so far.

Lengthy article only make your post high unlikely get deleted, but it's not related to merit.

Merit is just like a gift, don't expect anyone e.g. friends, girlfriend, parents etc will give you something on your birthday.

Oh well...

Maybe its the quote that helps given you the merit, besides loyceV will not just give merit if he has not seen something about your post, even an image can say it all, although, members have different ways of understanding a post, if they appreciate it, they will give merits, if not some will appreciate, that's my take.

49  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My Four (4) Tips On How I Handle Criticism on Bitcointalk Forum on: March 25, 2024, 01:05:30 AM
A lot of work goes into planning, researching, and writing good posts. So, I can understand why newbies get all worked up about the criticism and feedback their posts may attract. I believe that each individual has a unique way of reacting to criticism. For example, some may act defensive, offended, show appreciation or just totally ignore the criticism or feedback.

Before I share my four (4) tips on how I handle criticism or feedback on Bitcointalk talk, let me echo the popular advice given to newbies in the forum. I'd quote Mr.right85 because I love how he puts it.

Be open to criticism
Every perfect system is often one that has been tested by series of criticism and when they don't break you, they make you. In your need to be better, never expect only kind words from most persons or anyone, its the first step to disappointment and brokenness. On this, I say you should grow a thick skin like THE PHARMACIST and LOVESMAYFAMILIS would say and instead of being bittered, learn to utilise and apply them to be better.

Below are my four (4) tips on how I handle criticism or feedback on Bitcointalk Forum.

1) Provide a little bit of context
I try to give additional information or offer a relatable perspective when I observe that the critic or user providing the feedback has misunderstood me.

2) Research on key points
I carry out a research on the key points raised by the critic especially when I observe that the criticism or feedback given shows that the individual has domain expertise.

3) Rewrite and Revise
If my research proves that the points raised are valid, I either rewrite or revise the topic from top to bottom. This time, I focus on the key points. After which, I upload the file to a private folder on Google drive.

4) Ignore Button
If I notice that the user is just trying to humiliate or embarrass me for no just reason I put them in my ignore list.

How do you deal with criticism on Bitcointalk forum?
This is the correct approach there is no room to get mad or angry about your post being criticized instead the best way to get back is to correct if there is something wrong with you're post or explain you're side if they are just there to criticized you after you have explained or revised then no. 4 is the best way, because one way or another, as my experience someone will back you up and explain it clearly to them that is why i like this forum, unlike others that they will drag you down even more even though you are correct or right about you're post.

if im not mistaken the only time i heard poloniex has been hacked was last year, i been using the exchange since 2016 if I'm not mistaken but i have never encounter issue with them, the only problem that i might say is the look of the exchange it never been change or upgrade the looks but all in all i can say its safe, but if you really want to be safe, buy a hardware wallet.
52  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do you feel when you earn merits in your post or replies. on: March 24, 2024, 09:48:09 AM
if i don't get merited its okay because we all know that if you make a good post it will be merited by people who appreciate it, at the same time maybe the post is not much informative or maybe some already have posted almost same topic etc.,
having not been given a merit we should always improve the way we post if its out goal, we should not be feel bad of the situation, remember not all post are given merit, but to not feel disappointed just don't expect merit.

54  Economy / Services / Re: Recover Hacked wallet: Paid Task on: March 23, 2024, 02:39:24 AM
Dear Bitcointalk community;

My friend wallet has been hacked by professional hackers. Whenever he send Sol to address, it's automatic sent to hacker address. It is old wallet eligible for many airdrops. Tge wallet was eligible for Jupiter airdrop worth 800$ which stole by hacker.

Now his wallet is eligible for Warmhole airdrop where he will get 1750 token. Premarket of one token is 2$ which means the total value will be approximately 3500$.. He wanted someone to recover his wallet and he will pay 30% of airdrop.

I will be responsible for his payment. Only reputed members can try. I will give payment in btc. thanks

Sol address: HNoA1a113aXPWfDNaYGyVCg1T5Wp86U84pWdaV3Nu6V9
I think this issue is same with my friend we made a work-around about that, you should always compute the gas fee needed for the claiming of the airdrop, you need two computer for this one, and this needs to be sync,
This how we get the token
  • First calculate the gas fee needed for the claim
  • on the other wallet prepare the gas needed by the wallet with eligible for the airdrop
  • now this is where its get tricky, if im not mistaken there is a delay in the hackers side, what you need to do is after you click send to the wallet with airdrop, you also need to click on the claim in this way you're transaction will be the one be prioritize
it work on us i hope you it will help you, don't send too much sol just exact for claim, in this way they can't send it to them, exact gas for claim and it has to be in 1-2 one is the sender to the wallet and second is the claim on the wallet with airdrop,
55  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It’s unlikely that anyone besides you will be happy with your winnings. on: March 23, 2024, 01:14:01 AM
I would like to discuss this topic, the joy of victory. Much has been written about this, but nevertheless it will always be relevant. Many players naively believe that someone other than themselves should be happy about their winnings. I don't think so. Of course, those closest to you who directly or indirectly depend on your money will be happy about your winnings. But neighbors, friends, work colleagues, at best (at best!) will receive the news of your victories with indifference, and at worst, with envy. I know that many friends and acquaintances get depressed when they find out how much you have earned. For them, it will be an unnecessary reminder of their failure. Often friendships end after one person becomes very rich. People lose common topics for communication, common interests disappear. Of course, things are different in sports betting and trading than in business. Here success is less stable and a person can often fall back into poverty more quickly. But it’s still better to hide your victories from others. I've seen many clear examples.
Being envy with what you have is normal things to other people since they can't have what you made, the best thing is to keep quite about your winning don't even tell it to your family, just provide for them, since if you told them they will expect and ask for more, and worse they also get jealous, this is true, work in silent is the best way to do it.

I would say if you really are holding it for a bit longer pull your asset in the exchange and put it in your cold storage for the mean time, because we never know if that exchange will get hacked or closed, also to avoid hassle and stress you better have full control,
58  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Convert BTC to ETH on: March 21, 2024, 05:05:56 AM
I have some BTC on Bitstamp and I want to convert it to ETH and send it to my MetaMask wallet. How best to do so? thanks
I highly suggest to postpone you're plan since the gas fee's during this time is high, why not try it to binance chain and hold bnb instead, but if you really want to, convert it first to eth and send it to metamask eth network make sure the address is correct before sending or else you might lose your funds.
59  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: AZORult stealer targets crypto wallets with a sophisticated HTML smuggling on: March 20, 2024, 09:51:37 AM
As far as I understand, the stealer hunts for Windows users by installing a shortcut in the form of a PDF file. But we must already remember that the files themselves have the PDF and DOCX extensions often carry the danger of viruses, and it is always not recommended to open them unless you know who could have sent them to you.
One thing I can recommend is to be attentive to your clicks on links so as not to end up on a phishing site. Use a virtual machine if the file is very interesting and necessary, but it’s better to start learning Linux.
This has been my recommendation to my friends to use Linux since almost everything can be done with it, at the same time you don't have to worry about expensive licenses in Linux since there are alternative software like office, most virus/malware will not run on it, i use it before and must say it work like a charm, just use ubuntu desktop and you're good to go.
60  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Quickest way to earn merit? on: March 20, 2024, 06:01:40 AM
I suggest making helpful post to the forum also learn from other post to be able to help other members, as a newbie don't focus on merits focus on creating better post, there is no quick way to earn it, it will come when you least expected.
