41  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Bill Gates Calls for ‘Global Government’ on: February 02, 2015, 10:55:48 AM
I've never understood the opposition to a global government. It always seems to come from conspiracy theorists that lack critical thinking skills. What are we suppose to do? Never become united? Remain separate entities constantly vying and warring for territory and power? Does that really sound like the intelligent thing to do?

I agree in some respects but conspiracy theorists will just find a conspiracy or reason to moan in anything.

Adolf Hitler had a similar vision

But Hitler was a tyrant. I can't see what would be wrong if the world was governed by a decent philanthropist human being but there's just too many problems and differing people and nations with differing ideologies that cannot be fixed in such a way.
42  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What makes a currency meaningful? on: January 09, 2015, 01:27:26 PM
What makes anything meaningful? People must have faith in it. If they do and there's a clear use for it then I think it is both useful and meaningful. I think bitcoin even excels because it's decentralized as opposed to being controlled by a central authority so to me it is even more meaningful than fiat.
43  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-01-09]CA - German Bank Sparkasse Blocks Bitcoin-Related Bank Transfers on: January 09, 2015, 12:31:24 PM
Unfortunately this isn't something new. Happens in the US and the UK. I can't really see their logic in not wanting to do business with bitcoin-related companies. If they're worried about money laundering then they need to just shut down their own business or stop dealing with a mutitude of companies that deal with fiat that are well known to be used by money launderers.
44  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: when altcoin will be all dead? on: December 30, 2014, 03:32:54 PM
Alt coins will die when people stop mining them. Seriously, why do people even bother with 99% of these things. They're an absolute waste and they should die on launch.
45  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Power companies should mine bitcoins on: December 30, 2014, 03:23:34 PM
You could probably say this about many things. Why don't potatoe farmers just make fries etc? It's not their industry or business to do so, even if they could turn a decent profit on it. Remember they need to fork out for the hardware and find space for them etc.
46  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why I invested in bitcoin on: December 21, 2014, 11:27:54 AM
I invested in bitcoin for the technology it offers, and luckily never invested more than 4-5 BTC at 600. Took a big loss and made some back by day trading wehn the prices were swinging between 300 and 400.

I also invested because I believe in the technology, but also because I can see the potential future value in it. Give it 2-3 years and then lets see where it's at. Those that don't have patience and got out early may live to regret it.
47  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can Bitcoin Rebound? on: December 21, 2014, 11:25:27 AM
Almost everything else except oil performed better than bitcoin this year  Smiley

I've always said the price today doesn't really matter. It's what it's worth in the near future and for some of us we can see the potential value it truly has.
48  Economy / Economics / Re: Satoshi didnt give us bitcoin to make a bunch of nerds rich. on: November 29, 2014, 02:45:57 PM
He made Bitcoin so you could escape enslavement by the financial system. Satoshi gave you life, he gave you the power to control your destiny

And can we not escape it by becoming rich?  Cheesy. I jest, I'd much rather everyone used it to get away from the corrupt banks, but this will take time if ever.
49  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Attention ---------Bitcasino.io is rigged---------------Attention on: November 29, 2014, 02:40:00 PM
You'll need more proof than this. Are you just basing this off loosing? If this was true what you say people could just exploit it with new accounts. Why haven't you cleaned them out using your method?
50  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Whistleblower: Fed “Highly Alarmed” About Bitcoin Conquering Dollar System on: November 13, 2014, 01:53:16 PM

The "whistleblower" still refuses to provide any evidence or verification of its truth. It is probably a hoax.

I agree. Without any decent evidence to back this up I'm calling bullshit.

In a corroborating statement, Government Scientist Randy Marsh of Colorado, says he was "So startled", releasing a shaky camcorder video of the event.

 Cheesy I love Randy,
51  Economy / Speculation / Re: It's happening! --- 3̶6̶0̶$̶ 454$ on: November 13, 2014, 01:20:51 PM
Nice to see the climb in November again  Cheesy. I wonder if this will be a yearly thing?

I've been telling people here since the beginning of this mini rush that it was a trap, now confirmed.

i don't think so, some swings here and there while we rise are normal, 3k coin are nothing, it's not even a trap

What do you guys mean by a trap exactly? I'm not that familiar with all this lingo.
52  Economy / Economics / Re: why do people agree to pay taxes? on: October 29, 2014, 02:54:17 PM
Nobody agrees to pay tax, its taken off automatically in our paychecks.

You agree when you voluntarily pay it. Move to a place that doesn't demand income tax. Don't some American states not even have income tax but just sales tax?
53  Economy / Speculation / Re: The enemies of bitcoin price rise! on: October 29, 2014, 02:39:40 PM
I'm torn on the issue. I would like the price to drop to buy more, but I also hold a decent amount so of course I want the price to rise, which I believe it will with time hence why I'd like to buy more.
54  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin.org now claiming to be "offical" site on: October 20, 2014, 01:54:15 PM
Most people won't care. We know that it's not official and is nor representative of us.
55  Other / Politics & Society / Re: [UK] - Internet Trolls could face two years in prison on: October 20, 2014, 01:40:54 PM
This obviously goes beyond trolling. Trolling and threatening to do harm to people are two different things. Sadly I think it's become almost the norm for people to be able to get away with doing things online because they're hiding behind a computer. People who make serious threats should be dealt with, but not trolls who just annoy people slightly.
56  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The Illuminati discussion thread Do they exist? on: October 02, 2014, 11:39:57 AM
We are all in control of our own action. Can't blame conspiracy or Illuminati for the world we are in today.

True, but that doesn't mean there aren't people who are trying to control us of the world around us. We can just be players in a bigger game.
57  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Random 0.00001 BTC from Laxo Trade? on: October 02, 2014, 09:23:58 AM
Looks like newbs don't need to bother wasting time with faucets now. All you need to do is post your addresses here and you'll get some free spamcoins  Grin.
58  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you USE your BTC? on: September 26, 2014, 04:49:04 PM
I haven't spent my coins yet because I'm treating them as an investment and see their future  potential so gonna hold onto them for a couple of years or something.

i love BTC.  make purchases without having to show the receipts to Disability

Lolwut? You like them because you can commit benefit fraud?
59  Other / Politics & Society / Re: A day in court for non-payment of the TV licence on: September 26, 2014, 04:40:39 PM
I really hate having to pay the TV liscence. I know there are loopholes to get around it but they'll still hassle you constantly until you pay up. They really need to just get their money the same way all the other channels do - adverts.
60  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is it the right time to invest on BTC on: September 14, 2014, 07:00:46 PM
In a couple of month the panic sellers will regret their decision...

Panic sellers will always live to regret their decision, though maybe those that sold near $1000 haven't... yet hehe.
