41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SPR] SpreadCoin | True Decentralization (No Pools) on: January 26, 2015, 04:43:56 PM
My apologies, I mistakenly said "one month" when in fact the 80k SPR wallet went AWOL on the day of launch.
Do you have some troubles with measuring time intervals?  Grin

Apparently I do because I was right the first time with my "one month" statement.

My previous post will be deleted.

How many donated coins did you recieve ?
Several pages later addresses for donations were published, you can find them there. It was less then 80k.

LOL - I clicked on your pool link and tried to make an account.  Invite only?  I can't even see block finds under statistics.  Please post a screenshot of the pool working with a verifiable block so we can put your bs to bed.
A few pages owner of this "pool" confirmed that there are no pools for SpreadCoin.

SPR is no a solo-mining(decentralized)coin any longer

Wrong.
So you are the owner of that pool and you confirm that SpreadCoin can not be pool mined? What for is then this pool? Is it only for trusted miners?

Correct, it is extremely unlikely there will ever be any other pools, this was merely a test to that.

Grin Grin Grin Grin Hope everybody was able to collect some more on the dump, because it won't last long Wink
But bitman008 will continue to post large red posts that SpreadCoin is broken

I refreshed this page once and market cap dropped by 2x times, I refreshed it again and market cap was 2x bigger again.

Well you were prolly the first to mine, so we should see the coins from the first blocks haven't moved after the loss of wallet.
I didn't start mining until I saw first blocks mined by others, so very first blocks are not mine.

Lol, it's definetely fun here. Last chance to buy cheap and trolls are in despair. Week of FUD: the FUDding doubled.

>Mr.spread,plz prove you've really lost 80K SPR.

Such things are impossible to prove.
Yeah, it is only possible to prove ownership of coins, not "non ownership".
49  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SPR] SpreadCoin | True Decentralization (No Pools) on: January 26, 2015, 03:25:36 PM
Of course...private pool.  Invitation only.  Possibly using multi sig or similar to prevent somebody running off with the funds.  Nice thinking.
yeah, private pool, but it means pool works,solo-minig was cracked, not any no solo-pool any longer
You can make private pool with trusted miners, this was not denied.

Great news!  Thank you for all the hard work.

Mr. Spread, are you able to release the minimum required SPR for a masternode as of yet?
This minimum doesn't mean much because price will go higher anyway. 100 SPR looks reasonable.
52  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SPR] SpreadCoin | True Decentralization (No Pools) on: January 25, 2015, 11:09:33 PM
We'll begin testing in 1-2 days on testnet.

Since we'll need coins to run masternodes I will set initial difficulty to 1/1000 that of SpreadCoin. Ever wanted to instamine something? This will be your chance Smiley

I updated the client again.
As was discovered by elbandi it was impossible to create multisig addresses, I fixed this. Also multisig transactions were considered non-standard by network and were not rebroadcasted and not added to block (although they would be accepted if included in block).
If you need multisig addresses then generate them with newer version and wait for more nodes to upgrade before starting using them.
This is not a hardfork.

OS X Yosemite.

Unfortunately I don't have an OS X to test. Anyone else is using OS X? Do you have the same issue?

- The block reward was reduced by 90% after block 2200 for no apparent reason.
Time between blocks was reduces from 10 to 1 minute.

- The publicly available kernels are crippled versions of the fully optimized variety.
No, fully optimized kernels are based on publicly available kernels (I think).

Mr. Spread, here is the Darkcoin dev's explanation for the fork.  Hopefully SPR will be able to avoid like issues:

[noparse]https://darkcointalk.org/threads/0-11-0-darkcoin-core-release.3601/page-23[/noparse]

Post 453 and 458

You need to copy and paste otherwise you get rickrolled.
This will not happen with SpreadCoin.

In DarkCoin the messages which select masternodes are separate from the blockchain and are distributed independently. This way it is possible that nodes will have different opinion on what masternode should receive next payment. In SpreadCoin all votes for masternodes will be stored in blocks and the payee will be uniquely determined from previous blocks. Just like you can check that any transaction included in the block is correct by comparing its inputs with outputs in previous blocks you will be able to check that masternode payment is correct by checking previous blocks.

Why bitcoin is so reliable? Because all nodes have exactly the same rules how to determine which blockchains are correct and which one is better (required more work) than others, these rules are only depended on blocks themselves, not on the order in which they were received them nor on any other messages which you may or may not receive in time. The network can be unstable in the case of some major event which will break connectivity between nodes such as damage of submarine cables, world war, alien invasion, zombie apocalypse, etc. but once connectivity between nodes is reestablished all nodes will stick to the same blockchain. The same will apply to SpreadCoin.

Now I know this is probably a stupid question again, but the GPU miner works without spreadcoin.conf if the wallet isn't encrypted?
If it shows hashrates, does that mean it's actually working and not just hashing for no reason?
Yes it is working, it is special functionality to simplify mining.
59  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SPR] SpreadCoin | True Decentralization (No Pools) on: January 21, 2015, 03:25:06 PM
ive set conf as per the op - and have setup the miners ( found out only four allowed to be pointed at any wallet at any one time ) as per the port and user / password ...
rpcthreads option controls maximum numbers of RPC connections, e.g. set rpcthreads=10 in your spreadcoin.conf. I will add it to the readme.

Lightweight wallets? Android/IOS here we come!
Has anyboy used SPR lightweight wallet?? where could I download it?
Not, yet, it's not me who is working on it.

Is this a mandatory wallet update?  Tongue
No, if there will be a mandatory update I will say so and it will be in the title of this thread, in the OP and you will see alert in your wallet that says that you need to upgrade.
