43  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Charlie Shrem Pleads Guilty - What do you think? on: September 10, 2014, 03:57:05 AM
Should he have plead guilty?

Unfortunately the entirety of the US justice system is set up in order to force you to plead guilty.  They make the stakes so high for losing a non-guilty plea that you almost always come out better pleading guilty.  It's total bullshit and it needs to stop.  Check out this doc for more info

44  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: God, I hope I'm right about my Satoishi identification on: September 10, 2014, 03:51:31 AM
A couple of years ago I posted my theory of who Satoishi was. God, I hope I am right if this hacker outs him. Then I can lord it over you all unmercilessly. You will never heard the end of it, how I was right and you ignored me. Vindication at last.

Ehhh, I don't really care if you had it right or wrong, I don't know who you are or who you claimed it would be, and I don't care who Satoshi is, I'm just happy he granted us the magic of bitcoin.
45  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will be covered more in the coming week? Paypal integration or Satoshi? on: September 09, 2014, 09:27:38 AM
I like how paypal's attitude up to this point has been to ban or freeze all accounts being used involving bitcoin, and suddenly overnight those fuckers are just having a party with bitcoin.  I wish people would know the shit they were pulling before this, that's what I want the media to cover.

You can't just look at two figures for the overall factoring of the state of a country.
47  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2014: The Worst Year for BTC? on: September 09, 2014, 09:15:41 AM
The worst year for bitcoin was every year prior to it's existence.  Now it's all gravy man, just gravy.

Why don't you just put in a splitter and a million mile cable, i'll hold on to the other end for ya.  We'll call it a favor Wink

For the record, I know this wouldn't work even if the cable was real.

UTP cables have a max range of 100m (300 feet)

Fiber has a limit of about 80km. You would need a bad amount of fiber optic repeaters.

Let's not even mention co-ax cables.

A million mile cable would go around the earth at least 40 times so I assume you live in space. I'd recommend satellite internet. It sucks but it's all you got.

Lol I thought for sure if I mentioned "I know this wouldn't work" that nobody would bother telling me basically "that wouldn't work because reasons" and yet you couldn't help yourself.  The world astonishes me sometimes.
49  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why do you have bitcoins and what is your strategy? on: September 09, 2014, 05:33:11 AM
Not much of a strategy, I just believe that bitcoins will take over as the biggest currency in the world and why not be in on history? I use them in my business and I feel a lot can be gained by individuals who learn to use them, so I try to spread the word!

These girls are a little too much for me. So they are selling their bodies or just photos of themselves?

Photos and videos, you can't meet with them. No prostitution or even "escorting" haha.. Oh and panties if you really want!

53  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you love Bitcoin? on: September 08, 2014, 04:59:15 AM
I BTC

During my whole life I never told that "I love money!".

But with the Bitcoin it is not the same... Bitcoin is (as we all know) not only a valuable "currency".
It didn't made me rich or anything like that ... so this isn't the reason why I love it Smiley

Bitcoin is the future. It is a bright idea which is already changing the world into a better place!

I know that I didn't wrote anything new ... and perhaps there was 101029 similar threads ... but I really had that feeling that I must say it loud - that I BTC & Satoshi Nakamoto =]

Would anyone be here if they didn't?
54  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and recurring transactions: How to solve pay up front? on: September 07, 2014, 04:46:45 AM
I have one solution to these three, the gas pump issue.  You could send an arbitrary amount of BTC (ex. $30 worth) to the gas station pump you are at, then fill your vehicle up.  The gas station would wait until you were finished, then send a refund of the difference back to the address you sent it from.  Would this work?

A wallet cannot have a negative balance, therefore your proposed solution is probably the best decentralized solution available. In order for Bitcoin to process recurring payments bitcoind would have to allow escrow-like transactions, as you've stated, where you set aside a certain amount of BTC to be released in incremental payments.

HOWEVER, in order to ensure your wallet has enough BTC remaining to fulfill these payments would mean you would be unable to spend any of the BTC locked in escrow. Perhaps there are uses for such a mechanic, I do not know. For the scenarios you have listed it seems that you might as well pay the other party a lump sum for their service instead of paying them incrementally since they have essentially the same effect on your wallet (X amount less BTC to spend). Furthermore, if you had a scenario where such an escrow service would be necessary, Bitcoin's volatile exchange rates would likely lead to issues--are we locking in a BTC rate or a BTC to USD rate? Such a service would likely end with at least one dissatisfied party.

tl;dr: The only proper solution here is to pay a BTC lump sum. You will never be able to purchase gasoline without putting your trust in the company. For all you know they just filled your car up with water!

>I don't view trusting a B&M as an issue.

I imagine that someone accepting bitcoin for their services would understand the volatility of bitcoin pricing, as they would probably just hold the bitcoin anyhow.  However of course it could always be handled so that it converts to fiat upon entering escrow, then convert back on request by the acceptee.
55  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin and recurring transactions: How to solve pay up front? on: September 06, 2014, 01:11:45 AM
Bitcoin is definitely great, I love it, I love using it.  But of course we all know it's not perfect, and I am left wondering how to conduct a certain set of transactions.

Namely, how could you handle bitcoin in a pay later style of escrow payment without having to utilize a third party?

Let's look at a few examples where this may come in handy.

- Gas pumps, generally the population uses a credit card, fills up, and gets charged whatever is on the pump after filling up their vehicle.  This keeps you from having to guess how much your car needs to become full without going over and needing a refund.

- Subscriptions, on websites with subscriptions you input your card information and each subscription period you are charged automatically.  How could you do this with bitcoin without giving the site your private keys?

- Proving you have funds to another party.  You'd like to commission a painting, but to ensure you aren't screwed over, you don't want to pay 50% up front. What methods could be used to place your bitcoin in escrow so that the other party would know it was there and available for them to retrieve? This one may almost definitely require a third party, but I am open to ideas.

BADecker I just love how you ignored the statement about how you say humanity popped into existance according to our argument (which according to you is impossible) then you ignore the questions of "so god just popped into existence?" as if the statement was never made. Good show my boy.

58  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 1 bank account = 1 telephone landline. 1 cellphone will be 1 bitcoin user on: August 30, 2014, 12:26:31 PM

Question: How will bitcoin enable people to get bank accounts who couldn’t before?

"Think of the cellphone. There were never more than 1.2 billion landlines. Then the cellphone came and we’re at 6.3 billion. Why? It’s not because only those people wanted to communicate. The landlines were all post-pay. You need to have credit to get one. The cell phones were pre-paid. Suddenly you could get one with cash. It had nothing to do with technology. It was an economic restriction.

Now there are 1.5 billion bank accounts, same threshold as land lines. I think bitcoin will allow us to see 6.3 billion people banking on their cell phones. That’s what’s so exciting to me. That’s a much better world than we have today."

I love your deduction, makes good sense to me.  The way I see it, requiring credit for such things was just another way to keep certain classes within that realm.  Like requiring literacy tests for voting, it's a fucked up racist thing to do.
59  Other / Off-topic / Re: Scientific proof that God exists? on: August 30, 2014, 12:22:33 PM
God is a fantasy. There's no one person controlling everything. The cosmos is everything in existence and it functions all on it's own. I bow to no god and no man. I simply exist in reality.

God is not a person.  God is all people.  You're thinking in terms of humanly logic.  God is not a being, god is everything that exists.  The totality of existence, that which is the universe.

To ignore the existence of something, you must first acknowledge it's existence.

I agree that God is existent in all people. But He also is an identity of His own, much broader that the combined entities that people are.

Smiley

I'm just saying that god is not one singular personified being.  The highest state of god is an infinitely bright singular point of white light and infinite love, as all frequencies together create a white light.  I know this because I have seen it, I have felt it and I have became it.

This is the point we might have disagreement on, if we took the time to nail it down. I am saying that God IS a personified being, separate from people, while at the same time being existent, as TRUE God, inside of and as all people. How can this be? I don't have a clue. Sounds almost impossible. Yet this is, if explained and understood correctly, what I believe.

Smiley

The universe is infinite, there is not one humanoid being that is the only god.  We are all gods, all is god.  The highest form of god is a singular point of conscious light and love energy, this is universal to all of existence.

In regards to other posters, aliens are gods, just as humans are.  The universe is infinite, it always has been and always will.  It may be hard to wrap your head around the concept of infinity, but when you see it for yourself, it all makes sense.  Existence never had to be created, it just had to be.

Dank you aren't allowed in this thread, go back to asking for your loan so you can bring about a "elevation of the human consciousness through a music festival"

Oh, this is so funny. Not the serious points. Rather the fact that people want to believe certain things that seem to be impossible to others, yet they are unwilling to recognize that some of the things that they believe are considered to be impossible by those same others.

For example, one person says, it is impossible for there to be a living angel inside the sun. Another says that it is impossible for evolution to have happened.

If we want to start to reconcile our "beliefs," all of us first need to recognize that there is only ONE reason why life and the earth is possible. That reason is, simply, that we exist. We are here. At least it feels like it and looks like it.

One of the most important things that we need to realize if we want to move on to an understanding of ourselves and the universe is, it is utterly impossible for life, and nature on the earth, and even the whole universe, to exist, according to anything that we know or understand, except that we do exist, and it all exists. Without recognizing this, all the rest of scientific investigation is meaningless, except that it moves us in the direction of understanding how impossible this universe is. That's the start towards understanding.

Smiley

Except there is ZERO evidence for angels living in the sun.  And 100% evidence for evolution.  Evolution isn't an opinion, I am so tired of people treating it as such.  It is a fact.  But even with the FACT of evolution, there is still room for your gods existence, one does not disprove the other, so stop refuting known facts and wasting everyone's time.
