41  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ANN] Beyond Bitcoin Show on: June 25, 2014, 11:39:10 AM
I had listened to a previous show and this one was much better. Production quality was lacking to say the least, but the content was top-notch. Far different from the typical interview show. The Bitshares lead dev guy was quite interesting,  but a similar interview style directed at others would help your show grow.
I used to join using android while at work and mostly listen Smiley

The visions the devs have are awesome!

Ah .. BTW: you can add comments/memos to you transactions.

Probably not going to win the work-life balance trophy this year...  Roll Eyes
But you did an awesome work!! +5%

On the current testnet TITAN works flawlessly .. it's incredible ... instead of..

> need funds: XTS7zLgcAUW9Yqt9CEXfY5vMiaaRjREchNva1HBhPVAasW7kr94ZB

we now have

> need funds: myBlockchainName

It's awesome .. sending money to a nickname and noone on the blockchain can even interpret the transaction ..
45  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor: Bitcoin hardware wallet on: June 21, 2014, 01:48:02 PM
Don't you use several backend servers + a load balancer that check service availability on each server ?

Putting more hardware into this problem won't solve anything. We're working on solution which remove deadlock issue in the server. Then one backend is more than enough.
Solving problems at its' roots .. Nice +5%!
46  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor: Bitcoin hardware wallet on: June 18, 2014, 10:53:43 AM
So far, Trezor is a limited use device, proof of concept only. Not for real heavy duty use.
Never was intended for that purpose .. It's a device for cold-storage! maybe medium-hot storage .. but for sure not for hot-storage!!

See no discussion here. It looks like dead. Stealth and unknown, probably, is it scam?
Oh boy ..
checkout THEIR board: bitsharestalk.org before talking FUD about scam ..

I am pretty sure we will see their first official blockchain BitSharesXT in some soonish weeks

Awesome! That's the one that was supposed to be created after taking a snapshot of Protoshares, correct? And then we can import the Protoshares private key into that BitSharesXT blockchain?
Jup.

BitShareXT is the base for all further snapshots that concern the BitSharesX products.

Several other DACs are announced, such as BitShares DNS, BitShares Lotto, BitShares ME.
These will all have their own snapshot on AGS and PTS (snapshot date not yet announced)

If you were interested in investing .. why not investigate for you self? You might learn about DPOS, the running testnet, delegate elections and a lot more .. give it a try

Great idea, I might just do it one of these days. It's been quiet here in regards to their development. I visit their forums once every few weeks, but see it's all still being tested as 3 months ago, that's why I asked if there was any break-through.
Current status:
+DPOS testnetwork running
+fork issues resolved
+delegate voting active and running smoothly
+loading PTS/AGS stake from genesis working
+loading keyhotee founder ids working
+name registration working
+fund transfer working (TITAN, anonymous transactions to any name)
+asset creating working
+asset transfers also working

I'd say pretty good progress so far. I am pretty sure we will see their first official blockchain BitSharesXT in some soonish weeks

They are obviously all missing that one Smiley

Has their been any progress with Bitshares recently? Are they close to releasing any of their flagship products?

Wait... how did you do that? Sorry for the dumb question...
Connected to USB .. visited mytrezor.com .. clicked a link .. did what the website/device told me .. Tada .. finished Smiley

Upgrading firmware now ...

//edit: all went smooth .. no need to use recovery seed .. idiot proof!

congrats!!!! Nice product!

For instance while the OP_CHECKMULTISIG opcode can itself accept up to 20 pubkeys, with 33-byte compressed pubkeys it is only possible to spend a P2SH output requiring a maximum of 15 pubkeys to redeem: 3 bytes + 15 pubkeys * 34 bytes/pubkey = 513 bytes.
56  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: any good IPOs going on? on: June 12, 2014, 10:01:28 AM
in Crypto ? nope.

want an IPO then sign up and trade in the REGULATED Stock Exchange(s)

IPO scams have no place in the Altcoin scene ever in any circumstances.
This is an unregulated market and IPO's are not applicable to Crypto period.
You support them ? then your basically saying.. "Hey any good Ponzi Schemes going on ?"  Undecided
Good point!

Looking forward to it's release! Hope this will change bitcoin security
It will/does not change bitcoin security .. its just a way to store your money securely
59  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor: Bitcoin hardware wallet on: June 10, 2014, 12:07:36 PM
It is possible to generate seed in TREZOR, load recovery words into software that supports BIP39+BIP44 on an offline computer, and let the software generate xprv key for first account. Then import this xprv key into Wallet32.
Thats what I wanted to do. I was pretty sure that I can do sth. like this. Not so sure if wallet32 already supports that though

Quote
At the moment it is a theoretical thing, because all these processes are not very easy to do yet and you have to trust your offline computer that does the computation.

Once this process is easy we might offer this a feature for advanced users,
+5% I want it! :-)

Quote
but we don't want beginners to enter private seed anywhere, because of the security implications.
I wouldn't count myself into that group of users :-)
60  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor: Bitcoin hardware wallet on: June 10, 2014, 10:53:53 AM
concerning Wallet32

Can I export the private key of one account only and use that on wallet-32 compatible with trezor.

Just like exporting only parts of the trezor DH-tree

You can't export any private information from TREZOR.

well, to be correct: you can export the root private seed at one point. In fact you should... onto a piece of paper or similar.
So I could generate the root-seed for the account#1 and use the resulting priv key as new root-key?
can I strip a part of the tree by deriving the privkey of one account and feeding it to some BIP32 enabled wallet to 'share' the subkeys?

You understand my question? I'd like to use 'account#1' for daily stuff on my phone and still have phone+trezor synced!
