41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANNOUNCE] paccoin a new SHA256D coin is being introduced on: March 02, 2018, 05:17:42 PM
Hey guys,

Any masternode setup guides ?
Any masternode documentation regarding requirements and profit sharing ?

I couldn't find it on the blog or the website.

Thanks

From the reddit : https://www.reddit.com/r/PhoreProject/

Hi Everyone! Governance was implemented in the last update! Our first MN voting deadline is coming up in approximately 14 days. I have developed an initial budget proposal for review by the community and potential investors. Please note we are accepting professional marketing proposals as well! Here's the link to the proposed budget: https://forum.phore.io/t/phore-budget-proposal-0-7/48

Is there a guide to explain how does the voting works for masternodes ? Thanks !

Quick question, how often do you get challenges on a secure node ? Is it possible to trigger one ? I'm trying different comps to see what fits the requirements in terms of timing.

Are there any plans to increase the part of the secure nodes rewards in the future ?

Anyone here that can explain how does the Masternode rewards work ?

Is there any vesting time ? when shall I expect to see the first rewards flowing ? I'm very unfamiliar with MN's so any kind of explanation would help Smiley

When you set up a masternode, you lock 10,000 PHR in your wallet as "collateral". If you ever decide to stop running your masternode you can unlock the 10,000 PHR and do what you want with it. The masternode is a server with a static, public IP address that runs 24/7, and there are several cloud services that offer them for just about $5/month for hosting, including Vultr, Node-VPS, and AWS (AWS will even give you a free VPS for 1 year using EC2 free tier services).

Phore has published a guide on how to set it up, using Vultr as an example. Node-VPS is even simpler, offering them preconfigured for Phore, you just have to upload and download a few configuration details and set things up in your wallet, but last time I logged in they said there were no free nodes and they are in the process of deploying more servers. The setup process on AWS is very similar to the process for Vultr, but there are a few minor changes--if you know your way around Linux you should have no issue, I also outlined the changes in the process I had to make in the masternode channel of the Phore Discord (@Moonshot). There is also a member of the Phore Discord, @CallMeBaiter, who offers VPS hosting and can help set it up for you.

The masternode rewards (4.2 PHR) are paid out randomly, but they seem to come pretty regularly, right now about every 4 hours. There is normally some delay when you first set up the MN before you will see your first reward--the code specifies that the MN needs to be active for more than 8,000 seconds (a bit over two hours) before they are eligible. In practice, I've seen examples where it might take 10-12 hours before the first reward shows up, but after that they keep coming pretty regularly, although the randomness is there--I've had two rewards come in as close as 1 minute apart before. Once the rewards have 51 confirmations, they are available in your wallet to do as you wish with them, including staking them in your wallet for staking rewards if you keep your wallet online.

Does that help?

Thank you everyone that responded and thank you Moonshoot that's exactly what I was looking for ! I set it up last night no problem and after a few hours saw my first reward, now they are more frequent. I'm going to enable staking later today. Thanks !

46  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Darcrus (DAR) Blockchain Database Startup - Swap from Nxt to Waves Sep 15 on: October 04, 2017, 03:03:13 PM
transferring now to my waves wallet from bittrex....  this news really sucks im pretty new to darcrus and like the concept.... how is dev coming along>?
So is it possible to "whitdraw" DAR to WAVES within BITTREX, or i will lose everything if i send them to WAVES wallet (on BITTREX)?  Huh

Do not transfer your DAR to your bittrex Waves address, they will be lost. You need to create a waves account and download either their wallet or their chrome lite client, create an address and send your DAR to that waves address. They will then be credited to your waves account as assets that you will be able to trade on the Waves DEX. If you need more details feel free to reach out !

What is going on... no correct information and too many swap and old chain etc

What is the current situation ?  Is coinexchange wallet on the correct new chain?

Is the coins on coinexchange valid ?

The coins are coinexchange are valid, you can buy them and withdraw them to the new wallet.

Can't find information about how many time or confirmatoins transaction need to be mature, i.e. to be able to PoS?

It's around 36 hours, even though the TX shows as mature in the wallet at 24h it doesn't start minting until 36h.

Is that intended @dev ?

Now we would be contacting other exchanges for listing of $EQT pair .

Great news !

Do you know of any $EQT block explorer that is updated to the new chain ?

Thanks

ive asked some of these question a few times already. be nice to have some answers

when does algo for mining change?

if it has already switched is there a pool where we can mine?

if it has already switched, why is supernova pool live?  are they mining dead chain at this point?

1. From my understanding it already changed since we're able to mine X11 right now
2. I don't see any of the pool has switched to X11 ( or at least communicated about it ) so I assume they did not.
3. I don't know

Hi,

Does someone has an example of config for solo mining on windows ?

Thanks

Edit : here is what I'm using now and it seems to work : ccminer-x64-2.2>ccminer-x64.exe -a x11 -o 127.0.0.1:43102 -u EZhdArca8Fi6S32q9g3EMNv1eFppVBwmtQ -p <my_pass>

is that how you bind your address to the miner when you solo mine ? I added this adress as a rpc user in the config.

If you are mining on the same machine, then yeah.  you use localhost ip 127.0.0.1 and the port that you specified in the .conf file.  You also want to set daemon=1, server=1, make sure testnet=0 and its a good idea to limit your rpcallowip to your subnet (127.0.0.1 specifically, or if mining from another machine on home network, 192.168.1.*).

This is a pretty good reference: https://cryptocurrencytalk.com/topic/9505-how-to-solo-mine/

Awesome that's exactly the way I'm running this I just wasn't sure of the wallet binding. Thank you so much !

Hi everyone,

Thanks again for the answers, I'm starting to get a clearer picture of steem.

I read in the HF20 proposal that PoW will be back using scrypt, by the way, does anyone has a ballpark date for the HF20 release ?

When you upvote something, do you have to wait 7 days until you see your potential payout, or is there anywhere you can see it in advance ?

Let's say me and a friend buy enough Steem to have $0.20 of voting power, is there anything that prevent from upvoting each other 10 times per 24h ( at full power ), effectively making 0.75*2 = $1.5 per 24h ?

This leads to my last question, I'm trying to have a better grasp of the SMD system. From my current understanding, the SMD that is distributed as a reward comes from the inflation (75% of it, while 25% goes to Vesting ) correct ?  I also read in the White Paper that every time 1SMD is created there is $19 worth of SP created, is that still up to date, if yes does it add to the 10% of inflation ? Or is that what creates the inflation but then wouldn't then be a cap every year on the amount of SMD created and thus of money being given as a reward on steemit ? Similarly because there is an ownership to debt ratio, does that mean that the value of someone's upvote let's say $0.1 / 1k steem could reduce to $0.08/ 1k steem if the $ value of steem decrease of 20% ?

I bought a solid amount of steem and powered it up. I have been looking on steemd and I can see my vests however it doesn't seem like I'm generating new ones.

In steemit click in your wallet and write down the amount of steem power you have, check again(refresh) later and you will see more steem power this time. That's all that maters imo.

Thanks for the tip, I appreciate it I'll monitor this value !

Most of your questions are answered here:

https://steemit.com/steem/@steemitblog/final-review-of-steem-economic-changes

To answer your question about the powering down process, it is incremental with 1/13 powered down per week. The remaining portion stays powered up and continues to earn vesting rewards (as well as retaining voting rights, bandwidth rights, etc.)

There is fixed no cap on the supply, though the rate of inflation will eventually reduce to 1%.

If you have other questions after reading the above, please let me know.

@smooth, Thank you so much for your help, that post was really helpful.
I bought a solid amount of steem and powered it up. I have been looking on steemd and I can see my vests however it doesn't seem like I'm generating new ones. Steemd  is apparently on maintenance for a while so that might be the reason why. Is there a reason that steem is disabled on polo ? I have 1k steem stuck over there that I was not able to withdraw.

Steem appear to be pretty fascinating and I believe these inflation changes are sustainable and beneficial to the holders.
I actually have another interrogation, after reading about the consensus on steem, it doesn't seem worth to me to be a witness or miner, as most of the blocks are generated by the top 19 witnesses, 1 is by a backup witness and 1 is by a miner on the PoW channel.

Hey,

I've been reading quite a bit about Steem and  its  platform steemit and have been considering to buy some Steem.
While I find the project particularly interesting and promising, I'm having a hard time understanding the underlying structure of the steem assets as well as to find up to date information about the coin.

Here are a few questions that I had trouble answering after reading the github readme, parts of the whitepaper, the official website and steemit articles. I apologize if there is another source that I am not aware of where I could have found my response and look forward to hear from anyone here to help me out.

What is the current rate of inflation for Steem ? I read it is 100% but I also read that it was recently reduced, where can I find release notes that can point me in the right direction ?

What is the time required to power down SP ? On the official website it says that it will take 104 weeks of weekly installments but again on the forum I can find that it was reduced to 13, with again no source that I could rely on to confirm that info.

Is there a total number of Steem or will there be always new Steems coming due to the vesting process ?

If I own some Steem and I don't power it up, am I just losing money due to the inflation ? However if I power it up and eventually decide to sell, do I have to wait  13 (or 104) weeks to be able to sell ? But then during those 13 or 104 weeks, I will also suffer from the inflation rate ( except if I market sell my steem as soon as I receive the weekly installment, which is not necessarily the goal ).

From my understanding both ways are a lose lose situation, so I assume that my understanding is incorrect as this is a widely popular project. Again, I'm looking forward to anyone with a better understanding of Steem to help clear up those interrogations.

Thanks !

Yes, Arkh. Send the Uno to my signature address -- indeed, let us all ensure that our 'signature addresses' are the right ones. (Though we'd sure check for big trades!!) Your 0.7 is in your Eth wallet.

(And as I initiated the Trade, I'll post 'Trade Complete.' Woo hoo!)

Received ! I'm at work, will send in approximately ~4h Wink
