Lets hope you live up to the expectations, by not delaying stuff
I hope the wallet isn't costly like Trezor

We will not let you down.

The price as mentioned earlier will be less costly than Trezor.

no ssl = red flag

Thank you for the feedback.

For this website, we do not need ssl since no confidential data is dealt there.

Our exchange site will definitely have ssl when it goes online.   Wink

is this device card thin? how to i recharge battery?

also wondering how does back up works , say my coolwallet device broke how do i back it up onto another device?

how much will this item cost?

thanks

This device is as thin as a credit card. You recharge battery wirelessly through our NFC charger. (comes free with the device.)

We use SEED for backing up and restore. When you lost/break your CoolWallet device, you can either buy a new CoolWallet or go to another HD wallet(web, software or hardware), restore the entire wallet by typing in your SEED.

This item will cost less than $100 USD.

Our beta app so far can only support output per TX.
But we will upgrade it to multiple outputs very soon.

That's a bit sad for me because in almost all TX, I use multiple outputs! I will have to wait then. Sad Can you tell me ETA of ALPHA/BETA testing?

   ~~MZ~~

Well no need to be sad because the first upgrade will include the multiple outputs. And it will come with first official launch.

ETA of Alpha testing is around the end of Jan.

TX get pushed via NFC/BLE to the smartphone/tablet/computers, then broadcasted to the network.

How many outputs per TX can be signed using this? You know, many smartphone-wallet/hardware-wallet only supports one outputs per TX which is kinda bad IMHO.

You have been really helpful. Our beta app so far can only support output per TX.
But we will upgrade it to multiple outputs very soon.

Thanks for the feedback. I made some changes to the OP.

No problem and thanks! Smiley

Sweet.

Yes this is a cold storage with a trading feature via our app(free and open source).
With our unique security design, even if you operate on a compromised smartphone, your private keys will still be safely stored in the CoolWallet card.

Okay! So how does this TX get pushed? CoolWallet signs and send the TX to smartphone via NFC and push it from the device?

And yes, this can also be used only for cold storage as itself is completely isolated from the internet.

Cool! You may want to update the OP with some cool pics and better information. Currently, the post can be misinterpreted. Smiley

We already built working prototype.
The products can be shipped within 3 months.

Great project! Is the hardware a cold storage with a trading feature? Can this be used only for cold storage(offline)?

Hello guys,

We are working on a exchange site that will not keep users bitcoins but only fiat. The trade system is like Bitstamp where buyers/sellers post orders and deals are made when prices match. How does this sound?

In order to make this possible, users have to use our CoolWallet (a form of cold storage).
Here is the link for you to see the most convenient cold storage.
http://coolbitx.com/coolwallet/index.html

The exchange site will go live in about a month. We will keep you updated.

Neat, when does this 100$ hardware wallet start selling?

We aim to launch a crowdfunding campaign in before the end of Jan 2015, which you will be able to make an order  Wink

57  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Difference in storing your BTC in a wallet vs exchange... on: November 24, 2014, 04:35:20 AM
Exchange site is not your wallet, it is an account of yours in exchange site owners' wallet.
In other words, your BTCs are in his wallet.

Web wallet allows you to create your own wallet on web server.
They are exposed to the internet environment, which can be risky.
Your BTC safety relies on the how well your web wallet provider protects their server.

Software wallet allows you to store your private keys/BTC in your own devices(PC/phones/tablets).
You have the full control and responsibility of keeping it safe.
Remember, when your devices are connected to the internet, it becomes risky, too.
Hackers have many methods of stealing your private keys/BTC, such as malware, Trojan, controlled WIFI, and many others.

Offline wallet/ cold storage allows you to store you private keys/BTC on a physical isolated device(away from the internet).
You have the full control and responsibility if keeping it safe as well.
The difference between offline wallet and other wallets is that it is much less likely to be hacked.
