42  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: No FX rate available on: May 25, 2016, 06:53:20 AM
I also experienced this problem one week ago and today I have the solution. In my case, Electrum can't access the exchanger server because I enable proxy server in the Windows settings. So, I list the exchanger IP into the whitelist. And it works for me.
43  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Can I trust Blockchain.info wallet? on: May 25, 2016, 06:07:36 AM
Formerly the Blockchain.info online wallet listed in the wallet lists on the Bitcoin.org website. But for some reason it is no longer exists. What this means it is not recommended for using the Blockchain.info online wallet?
44  Other / Off-topic / Re: [Discussion]What work would you do for 1$USD per hour? on: May 25, 2016, 06:00:23 AM
Do anything you want me. $1 an hour for a 16 year old sounds ok as I will be working Smiley

16 years old in my country can already make around the 300 dollar monthly with a normal job so why would you do this for 1 dollar ?
I think a normal job for a 16 year old is way better.

This wont happen in my country, to earn $300 = more 3,000,000 rupiahs people need to have a good job which requires a high education background. We need to have at least a bachelor degree to have a $300/month, so it is impossible for 16 years old to get $300 monthly with a normal job.

Although with a bachelor's degree would be better for that person to work in other countries where they will pay that person more than $300.
45  Other / Off-topic / Re: If i give you 10 BTC what will you do? on: May 24, 2016, 07:55:42 AM
I will surely gamble with it, and I don't care even if I loose that money in gambling as its free  money for me, so no loss to me.
Lol. It is better to spend your money or buy some productive things rather then wasting money in gambling. As you said here. Use it wisely dude, do not waste their giving.
46  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will the price go up or down over the next year? on: May 24, 2016, 07:07:42 AM
- snip -

We cannot predict anything about the price of bitcoin as no one has control on it and we need to act in present and take best decision possible.
We can predict but we cant control it. because its always depends in demand and supply. if more supply expect for the price dump and if we see that more demand and less supply expect for price increase..
Market price should be controlled, just in monopoly market. But as we know bitcoin market is perfectly competitive market and not a monopoly market. And just like you said, with the science of trading, prices can be predicted.
47  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoins safe? on: May 24, 2016, 06:54:11 AM
Is it safe to keep all of my assets in Bitcoins? And how Department for Combating Economic Crimes, can affect my account?  What permissions they need , to freeze all my money ?
It is safe to store your assets as bitcoin, provided you can keep your wallet (more precisely is the private key) very well. In this Bitcoin system itself is not possible for someone to alter your transaction data in blockchain. They could not freeze your assets, but they could just take them directly from you by force.
48  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have you ever caught yourself thinking Bitcoin is AMAZING? on: May 22, 2016, 08:22:26 AM
I just impressed for the first moments I know Bitcoin. Even though I have been pretty much doing transactions, also learned many things about Bitcoin itself, at this moment I did not get the feeling again.
49  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is your trading strategy? on: May 22, 2016, 08:10:42 AM
- snip -

When you are trading without any proper plan, then you must hold your buying for some longer period. Otherwise, making profit consistently with your trading would be very much difficult. When you're holding for some period, then the bitcoin prices would be changing significantly. But holding your altcoins would be a riskier one.
Exactly. Anyone can trade bitcoin without any strategy or even without any experience also. Because, in long-term definitely bitcoin trading would be profitable. Just buy and watch your profits growing.
That is definitely an investment, isn't it? And I think trading is different from investing. Am I wrong? Also, I think also without a plan and strategies, we will get less profit than using strategies.
50  Economy / Speculation / Re: How many bitcoins do I need to retire in 20 years? on: May 22, 2016, 07:29:16 AM
Make a business, use your ability to make money, especially to your everyday life. Just dreaming in the next 20 years you will have 200 BTC and will have a luxurious life is crap if you do not start your steps from now. But somehow, it can be a motivation for us.

52  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Are floppy disks safe to store wallets? on: May 22, 2016, 05:42:11 AM
I was doing some cleaning on my room and I found some floppy disks, they are around 15 years old! from the Sony brand. I don't have a floppy disk device anymore on my computer, so I used an older computer because I was curious to see if they would still work.
To my surprise, they worked and all the files were accessible.

This made me think that, you could store some Bitcoin related stuff in floppy disks too? Obviously having backups in other places too.. but floppy disks may be yet another cheap way to store files. If I put my seed key in a txt (compressed in a 7z file with a pass) and my wallet.dat file on that floppy disk, it would have lasted for 15 years. I hope that if I do this, in the next 15 years when I find the floppy disks again, I will be rich Cheesy
In the next 15 years, you will find that your floppy disk has been damaged and the wallet data in it is lost, lol. Better print your private key in a laminated paper. Then put in your attic, and hope in the next 15 years that paper wallet is not eaten by rats Cheesy

54  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Sweeping Paper Wallets to Electrum Wallet on: May 22, 2016, 12:40:01 AM
Maybe that you want is to import your private key into your wallet. In Electrum, go to File > New/Restore then pick "Restore a wallet or import keys" finally enter your private key.
55  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin better or paypal? on: May 21, 2016, 10:50:01 PM
I do not know which is the better of the two, since I never use PayPal. After I read the posts on this thread, I found something interesting. That is, we can save and hide our wealth as bitcoin. On the other hand, more merchants who use PayPal rather than Bitcoin. So, if you want to save your money into digital form, better use Bitcoin. And if you want to use your money to shop online, it is better to use PayPal.
56  Local / Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) / Re: Bagaimana cara menjelaskan bitcoin kepada pemula? on: May 21, 2016, 02:13:43 PM
57  Economy / Economics / Re: How to save money. on: May 21, 2016, 01:58:37 PM
One way to save money is by buying items online, in bulk. Some companies even offer free shipping on large orders. Clearance items are sometimes available, and good savings can be found on non-perishable groceries and diapers. This saves time and mone.
I think what you mean to save money is not like saving money in this topic. I mean, this is about saving money such as providing reserve money, instead of save money such as buying goods in bulk.
58  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs Dollar on: May 21, 2016, 01:36:27 PM
- snip -

Even bitcoin will be powerful in future but it can never take the place of dollar, and bitcoin will always be used as an secondary currency, the first choice would be only dollar.
I do not think so. I just think about the reciprocal of what you are saying. Bitcoin is going to be the primary mode of payment for all the people and dollars may sustain as a secondary currency in some part of the world.
You are right. When many people are using bitcoin there is no need of any secondary currency in my view also. So only very less amount of people who not aware of bitcoin will be then using still dollars at the time.
But time will make them into bitcoin adopters slowly.
But, if Bitcoin adopt too slowly, it will dissappear as no more new people who know Bitcoin and nobody else investing their dollars for Bitcoin mining. So the Bitcoin growth should be faster.

60  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs Dollar on: May 17, 2016, 12:42:17 PM
Dollar still be a winner. The dollar is used as the main currency in the world. the use of the dollar is very stable. almost all countries use the dollar today. I believe the dollar will still survive up to 100 years. and bitcoin will begin to undermine the strength of the dollar in the future.
It is not completely true, I caught that sentence as "everyone using dollar". It would be more appropriate if the dollar is called the strongest currency in the world today.
