The site is working well and is very easy to move from market to market and back to funds.  I have a ton of reactions set up and those are like instant when the triggers hit.  I love it!

Thank you Nova and Frei!  I am going to update the OP with your links Grin

Do you have a snapshot of the current chain and or a bootstrap.dat.

Here is a fresh TopCoin blockchain snapshot: https://mega.nz/#!URoXUATB!qHkskuYCCgm5B1bPFrgql60Z8sR4vRB2zUw7miEIgO0

52  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Full list of truly decentralized altcoins (2477 coins analyzed so far). on: June 27, 2019, 04:54:04 AM
Wow… you did a heavy job right here, taking the time to research all these coins with this criteria. Well, if anyone is planning to invest in any of these coins, the only one I think is good for investment is Monero… I'm not sure about the others. Dogecoin is good but… it might not really be a good choice for anyone. And by the way, all these criteria doesn't really matter cause having all these doesn't even make coin to get adopted by people. They have all these criterias and not even single person talks about them, except monero and dogecoin are the only coins you will see people mention often, but only few like dogecoin.
Once people recognize that centralized cryptocurrencies are pretty meaningless (and not much better than PayPal or pennystocks), I guess that will change. I consider this list an important tool for that.

Dogecoin may be a special case because it's a coin heavily tied to a meme of a specific period which today already looks a bit "oldish", but until now it has done pretty well, and in the case it really implodes because of the meme problem, the community could simply rebrand it.

If helpix.world has no plans to publish this list on another webpage, I may have in the medium term - maybe I could even build a website/blog around the concept. I would however probably also include coins with low trading volume (with a warning sign or something similar), because I consider that a relatively irrelevant short-term indicator that may not be an obstacle to success nor threaten decentralization. Low-market-cap-coins with higher trading volume have similar dangers (a large investor could buy it up and de facto centralize it), but it's also possible that this never happens.

so why would you ever call a dogecoin a dam meme coin.    it is still the hardest working of almost all cryptocoins out there?
53  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ccminer 2.3 - opensource - GPL (tpruvot) on: May 25, 2019, 03:47:55 AM
i just wondered if anyone seen this issue or possible bug. Ok so i set up 3 wallets to do a time limited rotate of the wallets and i set time up with a max dif.  Maybe i am doing
something wrong i have tried in both windows and in linux.

Time-limit is the only one that exits, the others like max-diff, max-temp just wait at idle.

this is perfect and thats what i am looking for. A few months ago i was using the time-limit command and found
my gpus stuck on one wallet or pool for hours because the pool went down and i didnt figure out why it didnt move
on after 300 seconds until now because the time-limit has to mine that pool for 300 seconds or it wont switch.

you can easily recreate the issue by putting in a bad address or password in the first one and try yourself. it wont
go to the next wallet or pool til it mines that pool x seconds.

here is my attempt with just max diff

:loop
ccminer-x64.exe -a skein -o http://192.168.1.215:9333 -u htc -p x -d 0 --cpu-priority=4 --max-dif=5.0
ccminer-x64.exe -a qubit -o http://192.168.1.215:14242 -u htc -p x -d 0 --cpu-priority=4 --max-dif=25.0
ccminer-x64.exe -a myr-gr -o http://192.1681.215:9335 -u htc -p x -d 0 --cpu-priority=4 --max-dif=5.0
GOTO loop
pause

it wont move off the first one at all and thinking i would mix in time limit to see if it would wait 180 seconds and go to the next one every 3 min

:loop
ccminer-x64.exe -a skein -o http://192.168.1.215:9333 -u htc -p x -d 0 --cpu-priority=4 --max-dif=5.0 --time-limit=180
ccminer-x64.exe -a qubit -o http://192.168.1.215:14242 -u htc -p x -d 0 --cpu-priority=4 --max-dif=25.0 --time-limit=180
ccminer-x64.exe -a myr-gr -o http://192.1681.215:9335 -u htc -p x -d 0 --cpu-priority=4 --max-dif=5.0 --time-limit=180
GOTO loop
pause

it wont move cause the miner didnt mine 3 minutes is what i am seeing.
If i runn with the --time-limit=180 command behind each one only it rotates thru them then goes back to the top one no issue.
55  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 8th Alt coin thread. Or what to do now that asics are all over the place. on: May 05, 2019, 04:44:25 PM
for linux you can use xterm, or for windows you can use the built in RDP or a 3rd party such as my commented remote administrator;   there are countless how-to's on remote desktop protocol stuff out there....  TV is just nice because they have a 3rd party reporting/relay server.
I tried different services and applications, but most of all I personally like TeamViewer. I think this is the most successful, stable and reliable solution for organizing a remote desktop.

teamviewer is paid program (and way too expensive imo)
you can cheese it, but it will notice you using it for professional purpose and kick u off eventually
what a headache
i use: https://remotedesktopmanager.com/home/download (basic RDP connection no port stuff needed)
free, easy, no license shit
people using teamviewer in 2019 :O

for windows to windows i use remoteutilities you get like up to 10 connections without a licenes and for windows to linux i use tigerVNC. both programs work alright
in linux you have to do some fiddling to get it to work but  it dont take to long read the readme.
56  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: The Antminer S17 Pro: Is it worth buying? on: April 22, 2019, 05:36:18 PM
Sometimes, I see buying those expensive mining hardwares as a form of insurance. Buying bitcoin or some altcoins don't always pay off and sometimes you might even make some huge profits from bitcoin or altcoins but you may endup wasting the money on some bullshit! It happened to me April 2018, God!

for that price tag you can buy a whole bunch of s9 and t9+ on ebay and amazon.   i think there price is to high for what they are offering.
57  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is It Possible To Mine Without Downloading The Whole Blockchain? on: April 22, 2019, 05:19:38 PM
In particular I'd like to use XMR-Stak miner and use it maybe to mine Monero.
For Monero, forget about this, unless you have a huge huge huge mining farm. It doesn't pay off to wait to find a new block for too long, as opposed to sharing the reward together with other miners from a mining pool. Eventually, in the limit of very long time, both rewards should be similar, but in the case of solo mining it may take an eternity to see some money.

But if you want to mine some new not yet known coins, it may be wise to do it solo.

Is it possible to do this? I understand you can configure a wallet to connect to a remote node. I wonder if its possible to do a similar thing with a mining node.
In any case you have to download the entire blockchain and be very very good connected with nearby nodes so that when you find a node, your result is quickly propagated.

Maybe I didn't make it clear at the start, I would only mine using a mining pool, not solo as I know that is not worth it.

So if I mine using a mining pool (ie with my own server, not using a paid-for remote mining service where its all done on the server run by the provider) then I don't need to download the blockchain?

because ot the way some pool do payout i personally run my own wallets.   now because of size of some of these old ones
you need to make a conf file for each wallet and research each coin as far as pruning.  there is no standard wallet
that you just run and it doesnt need the blockchain.   there is some tho like multidoge wallet and myetherwallet.
you would need to research each wallet.
58  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Official FutureBit Apollo LTC Image and Support thread on: April 22, 2019, 03:40:54 PM
Daydreaming perhaps, but wondering if an Apollo could ever become a ltc full node with other miners on the local network pointing to that node. It would greatly reduce latency and maybe less invalid/stale shares (guessing).

If such a configuration would be possible and you found a block, would your node somehow reward you with Litecoins automatically?

I wouldnt suggest it because if the sd card gets corrupted and you need to reflash it everything would be gone.
now the likely chance you might get to hit a block is almost nill to none in solo mode on the ltc wallet.
most likely it would just orphane out within 1-2 confirms.

You can always check Lafu's expolorer at his pool and it is always up to date.

find it here

https://lafuhosting.top

Click on connection # and it will give you his current nodes.
thanks now I have 2 connections now

Does it trade anywhere else besides Cryptopia?

I havent seen fln trading anywhere else.  cryptopia will be back up and going soon.
its a very small coin and needs a ltc or doge to trade to.
