I would suggest running an open beta for a while without the ability to withdraw actual GP, just to fully test out the game mechanics, get feedback from players, make sure your anti-bot code works and stress test your server, before releasing the game properly (I realise you may have had this in mind anyway), with everything reset on game launch.  It's great for players too, beta-testing Valerian Universe gave those of us who did it a definite head start once the game officially launched.

My personal opinion - and perhaps this is something you could put to a vote - is that using the exchange should include a small fee (0.1% or something) that goes into the game balances.  It would be a small matter for those of us using the exchange but could make a big difference to keeping the game running.  I would be interested to hear others' views on this.

Quick question - does every "Card of Chance" have the same possibility of being found (1:126)?

(Obviously the chance of getting a card per roll is slightly more complicated to work out as the probability is slightly over 2 cards per roll or 25:12... but for any given card, are you actually as likely to get any card including card 0?)

Cards 1-125 all have the same chance of being obtained but Card 0 has a separate lower chance due to it's reward of a free VIP upgrade for cashing it in if a player is able.

Fair enough and pretty much what I thought the answer would be - desperately trying to get the last 3 cards to gain the entire set!!  Roll Eyes Grin

I've asked this on the faucet's chats but it seems like a reasonable idea to ask here so that we have a static answer, and you may want to do a post about it at the official site.

1 - Regarding the GP Faucet / Staking Pool, where can we see the TxID of withdrawals?
2 - Also the total available balance to each user would appear to be Current Balance + Profit, since Current Balance does not seem to increase with staking - could you please confirm this for the sake of clarity.

Many thanks!

More mission ideas:

- Drones salvaged
- Aluminium salvaged
- Aluminium sold
- Locations warped to

Also could we have a way of converting MegaCredits back to Credits please?  (I think this happens automatically if you buy them on the exchange, but if you make MC and put them on the exchange, then need to take them off to use the credits, I don't think there's a way to turn them back.)

Any idea how long the coin will be in maintenance mode on CoinExchange?

Yes having that focus is great and will of real benefit to the coin.  Unfortunately over time things drifted away from that purpose but you seem to be getting it firmly back on track now and things are looking very good for the future of GP.  Having it as actual in-game currency rather than just a supported currency would bring a new dimension to this crypto.

StakeHYPER.com Launched!

Hey guys I've setup a new staking pool/faucet for HYPER  Smiley. I hope you find it useful! I for one will be staking some coins there once I get some buy orders filled on the CoinExchange.io BTC/HYPER market  Wink

URL >> StakeHYPER.com

There are several more advancements being developed for the Staking Pool/Faucet, including a daily lottery we all can participate in for a little bit of fun each day!

Good stuff!  I can confirm that I have been using the GP version and all seems to be working fine, looking forward to checking out the HYPER staking pool too.

Ah rats I think I've done something stupid.  I bought some 1337 today, created an address to send them to and withdraw from the exchange.  It was only after this that I realised I was on 1.8 not 1.9.  I have since updated the wallet but although I'm now fully synched up, the address I made is appearing in the wallet and the exchange seems to have sent the funds, the value is not showing in my wallet.  Do you think I've lost it forever?

You ll be fine.

At what point should I be getting concerned?  I'm still not seeing it in my wallet, I'm on block 1067934.

Its possible that the exchange you sent the coins from was not updated. Give it some time.

Glad to say that you were quite right - although it's taken a few days the coins purchased have finally arrived safely in my wallet.

Yeah I agree with you that Planets should play a bigger role, but I think CryptoDatabase may well have some plans up his sleeve there...??

It may be a bit late for me really since someone stole eight billion credits from my ports (not naming names but he's lupine and he's dark!  Tongue) - but I'd like have a way to protect ports.  Perhaps a cloaking device that you have to buy with Credits (a million?) and then it will only be active as long as you have enough Energy.  Your Battle  Cruiser donates enough energy to run it (ten thousand per hour?) and it switches off if you ever run out of energy.

Being cloaked would allow your port(s) to be invisible - so not showing up on the Nearby Ports list and not showing up to be attacked if you're at the location, but the player themselves would of course be able to see them and from the Your Ports list.
Well, I guess you are Thaine?
You're the only one with 8KKK on my list.

would make Ports a safe investment. Don't add it!

Nah I'm Waldo, I didn't mean 8Bn in one go!

Hmm... the person stealing countless billions from ports doesn't want the ability to make them safe...  Grin

I gave this some thought btw, it's not merely a reaction to being raided myself.  I would only be for it if the price was quite high.  It's a tricky balancing act but with no fleet size bonus added to Port drones and *cough* some people's fleets being so huge that there is no feasible way to actually defend, which makes ports pretty pointless from the point of view of interest.

An alternative idea is to incorporate something like DKV had - being able to buy safety deposit for your ports, 1% at a time, so that you could be attacked without losing absolutely everything.  Since Port defences are so under-powered compared to player fleets (and I have benefited from this disparity myself on occasion) I think each player should be limited to one attack per port per 24 hours.

Anyway I'm just knocking the ideas around.  As it is I think it's pretty overwhelmingly lop-sided in favour of the raiding party.  Now I don't think raiding should be discouraged as it's an important part of the game, but I do feel it should be a little more balanced than it is currently.

Hey guys I recently spoke with Psybits about HYPER and how GP and HYPER were a very close knit community. I think that's great! That if my community members are also invested in HYPER I have nothing but love for HYPER. I'm willing to launch HYPER faucets as well, since already have the software created to do so. If everyone on board with this? I'm 100% GP bit i'm starting to see that many GP holders have a love of HYPER as well, and I just want to do whatever I can do help both communities thrive. So I will be using our already created software and setting up a faucet for them as well, and we can easily support HYP in our exchange once it launches, providing a GP/HYPER market to trade on.

Hope everyone's having a great day!

If you do a faucet for HYPER will there also be a staking pool?

Yeah that's the plan! I love the idea of helping HYPER as their community helped GP when I was having a hard time and wasn't able to be as committed and active as I am now. Smiley

In that case yes, I for one would definitely be interested.

Regarding the recent "huge drop" in earnings, I don't see it in the network-wide stats. Perhaps it was a temporary fluctuation. Please let me know your ad unit ids if the problem persists.

Seems to be okay now - it was definitely down drastically for a few days (for me anyway), but the last couple of days look back to around normal / good levels for me.

Hi guys

A bit more news - I've paid for a Rich List to be added to the Block Explorer.  It's going to take a little time to go live and I'll let you know as soon as it does.

Nice.

I think with the planned services and low inflation, a market cap of a million dollars by the end of 2018 should be a reasonable goal.

But anyway let's not get ahead of ourselves, just nice that things are going in a very position direction atm.

Is anyone else having long delays withdrawing 1337 from CoinExchange?

CoinExchange is still not ready with the update. Give it some time. Already contacted them.

Ah okay, thanks.
