41  Other / Meta / Re: @Best_Change spams in the Press section on: December 04, 2020, 04:05:25 PM
I tried my best in the past as a simple user to keep this section as clean as possible. There is less content and maybe less moderation but my reports used to be checked in few hours. Without strict measures you feel like your efforts are useless. I do not support removing this section nor any other one in our forums. There is rules that should be followed otherwise the topic gets removed and you risk getting a sanction.
42  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-11-18] Cryptocurrency: Bitcoin hits three-year high as investors jump in on: November 25, 2020, 02:13:39 PM
A week after, bitcoin is almost touching the ATH and will pass it most likely in few hours or days.
43  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-11-06] US authorities seize $1 billion in bitcoins on: November 10, 2020, 02:02:49 AM
Entire story sounds fishy to me. First of all, I don't think that Ross Ulbricht was the sole administrator of Silk Road. In all probability, more people were involved. I would assume that the other administrators have traded their Bitcoins for freedom. I am sure that there is no hacker named Individual X, and this identity was created by the FBI agents.
NSA joined the chat.
I agree, individual X is probably linked in a way or another to one of these agencies. The only thing that i am worried of is when dumping all that money  Undecided
44  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-10-21] Paypal to allow Bitcoin buying and selling on: November 10, 2020, 01:56:50 AM
First impression: whoah that's cool, the biggest wallet in the world will allow me buying and selling bitcoin.
After thinking a liiiiittle bit: wait a minute!
PayPal is locking accounts for the silliest imaginable reasons, it is like an employee there having a bad dream so he decided to randomly lock a bunch of accounts and ask their owners to prove from where they got "their" money and to post their photo with a lion. Yea I am exaggerating but we all know PaymeyourmoneyPal.
45  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC - What next? on: October 13, 2020, 01:11:51 PM
It seems to me that the second wave of COVID will not affect the economy as it was the first time, because then no one was waiting for it, and now everyone knows about it! So I wouldn't expect a strong price decline...
The economy is already suffering and its agony will continue with the current health crisis. Bitcoin will be affected by the less number of new users buying it maybe but this is mainly in countries with good economy since others with collapsed fiat would rather divert it in gold or cryptocurrencies.
46  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Trump Paid Just $750 taxes in 2016 and 2017 ! on: September 28, 2020, 02:36:42 PM
Jeffrey like this!
It is just another easy thing Mr 0range, aka I can do anything, used to do to make America GREAT again. It requires tremendous efforts, genuineness and a smart guy to accomplish it better than everyone else. Can't you see that? He is awesome, he will save us from ByeDon...
Crappy crap, brainless dudes will vote for him even if he was nominated as a king.
Worst scenario is Pince pardoning him for all his thousands "mistakes" when he step down after his shameful defeat.
47  Economy / Speculation / Re: Predict the bitcoin price range as we enter the New Year on: September 28, 2020, 02:04:41 PM
Personally, I’m thinking option 4 ($12,001 - $14,000).

Same pick. The price of bitcoin generally surge at the end of the year and since it is stable for a long time around $10.5k then definitely +$12k is very possible in December-January.
48  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-09-12]Researcher kept a Bitcoin bug secret for 2 years to prevent attacks on: September 14, 2020, 10:00:52 PM
In any case, over time, hackers would have found this vulnerability, I'm sure of it.
Fixing the bug quickly will prevents any harm for users keeping their software up to date. Using an old version is not recommended and always risky  Undecided
49  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fun Facts about Bitcoins on: September 14, 2020, 09:55:20 PM
Nice facts indeed, I was aware of some of it while the others are good to learn, thanks Smiley
Those are some great facts, i enjoy the reading... I didn't know the first faucets were up to 5 btc, that's crazy, with the current price that would be like $50k, epic right?
I heard there was some faucet in the past giving few BTC per claim but at that time 5 BTC were like few cents so it wasn't a big deal but now it hurts!
50  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is now the 6th largest world currency on: September 07, 2020, 07:29:03 PM
It is unfortunate to see the original topic in the press section, posted 1 day before this, didn't get the appropriate attention... https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5273439.0
Recycle, Repost.
51  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin reached 10k USD, where Ethereum come at 352 USD on: September 07, 2020, 07:24:07 PM
That's because of the DeFi hype. Since most of these applications are built on Ethereum, so this somehow gives a boost to ETH in the crypto market.
Under $200 price doesn't seem close to be happening today. Nobody knows, but since DeFi was having an ICO-like hype then everything seems fine with ETH.
Even Ethereum 2 has an impact on the ETH price in my opinion. A race to collect more than 32 ETH.
52  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-08-23]"Not your keys; not your coins".....? on: August 24, 2020, 03:45:54 PM
There's a discussion here already: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5270890.msg55053071#msg55053071

Haven't reported because I don't know if duplicate threads in press are left alone.

I don't report it either unless the topic already exists in the press section or it breaches the form that should be followed here, or it is an old news that was already discussed somewhere else.
+ Coinbase sucks, don't keep your money there ever.
53  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin can fall up to $9k or rise up to $17k - which one will happen. on: August 24, 2020, 03:39:36 PM
That is also a reason why I don't give more time to hearing the news but rather to watch the market changes. It is enough to know where we go (probably).
Even watching market changes doesn't help a lot. Sometimes the news don't have any influence with the bitcoin price, other times its effect isn't that big.
54  Other / Meta / Re: TOR + New accounts = Impossible (for free). on: August 24, 2020, 03:35:39 PM
The idea is that the forum is advising that if people are concern for their privacy they have to use TOR but as I said you have to pay for this, so it can be added that additional fees may apply during registration.

Imagine you register an account trough TOR with all that captcha solving for 5-10 min and then suddenly you have to pay. If you don't have/own bitcoin and you don't know how to pay then you probably be disappointed and will never come back.
That's true, I will be disappointed too if this happens to me in another forum.
I recommend adding 2 side notes, one for the possibility of evil fees and its definition, the second of the possibility to count this fee when buying copper membership. I am not sure about this point but I believe I saw it somewhere in the past.
55  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Donald Trump signs executive orders banning TikTok and WeChat on: August 10, 2020, 11:40:46 PM
Lately we have some topics about this one and seems the community is divided. And it seems that Trump really take this "serious" threat from China. Let's see how Microsoft will react, they supposedly shows intention on buying TikTok.

Do not forget twitter, it joined the race too.
This guy doesn't care about Russia interfering with election since it is endorsing his re election, he doesn't care about the other US based companies and social media spying on everyone and the risk of being leaked to China.
In the other hand banning stupid things is always welcome.
56  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will touch the high price in 2020? on: August 10, 2020, 11:35:12 PM
I give it little chance for Bitcoin to reach $25 in 2020. There will be huge resistance at $20k. We have 4 months left of this year.  I would not be surprised if we dont even touch $20k.

It seems it will hard to touch $20k this year, and maybe in the next year because bitcoin price is not moving fast. But if in 4 months, bitcoin price can increase every week, it will not be impossible if we will see $20k or even more this year. But I think if the price can touch $15k in these 4 months, that will be good for us because we can profit at that price.

It is hard to predict the bitcoin price next year. This year I think it is possible to reach $20k but it will require a lot of pump which isn't obvious until now. The resistance is quite solid around $12k!
57  Economy / Speculation / Re: What's happening with Bitcoin & altcoins? on: July 29, 2020, 12:56:26 PM
There are 2 scenarios that I'm seeing with the recent pump of the market.

1. Just a normal pump and dump scenario that has been happening for a long time already.
2. This is what the holders are waiting for. An upward movement and a possible wave 5 scenario Cheesy.

Either way, I'm just happy that the movement of the market after weeks of being sideways is on the upside but still I remain vigilant and waiting for a dump to happen.
With a final dump result for sure. The question is how far this bubble will attend
58  Other / Meta / Re: Huge donations to bitcointalk on: July 29, 2020, 12:40:34 PM
Forum software?? Mods?? Why should both get paid? Isn't smf free? I haven't heard any other mod to get paid.

We have to pay for the psychiatrist's sessions if we want to keep doing the job Smiley.
Grin

That new forum is a fortune and I believe there is only one developer?
59  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: India may again ban cryptocurrency on: July 21, 2020, 02:12:42 PM
For having recent attacks and other things involvement with bitcoins it will be a basis for the government to ban it again, but if the citizens will step up and raised their words about it then banning bitcoins will not gonna happen also maybe they will take a consideration for now since the pandemic still occurs and somehow provably when bitcoins is accepted on their nation they see some good things brought on it so let's see if they continue this plan.
Recent attacks related to bitcoin? Can you give examples? Crime related activities to bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general are way lower than FIAT or even gold and precious metals.
It is related to Indian gov trying to control everything.
60  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-07-16] Major US Twitter accounts hacked in Bitcoin scam on: July 21, 2020, 01:41:38 PM
Same content is already been discussed in another topic in this sub as mentioned by OP.
Used to report those kinds of infringement but since it contains additional informations i will not do it this time. I will just ask to lock this topic.
