41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ANN CryptoFunds - New BTC/LTC/Altcoin Exchange LIVE! on: March 26, 2014, 07:31:35 PM
Security? We have team of experts monitoring server all the time, firewalls, ddos protection and more magical things goign i nthe background making sure everything is secure.

How did it ever enter your head that the above is sufficient? Or that it actually means anything? See here, and move this post to Service Announcements (or better yet, delete the thing and come back if you eventually figure out what these concepts you're throwing around actually involve) --it doesn't belong in general discussion.
42  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANNOUNCEMENT] Bitcoin Exchange Service S-BTC.COM on: March 26, 2014, 07:20:30 PM
P.S. I'll definitely create a WOT account, since you're claiming it's so important for people in order to trust a company with their funds. Honestly, never heard of that one before.
One question though: did MtGox have a WOT account?

The world is replete with things you've never heard of, you know. Discovering them is a good thing.

Anyway, the discussion of how the WoT is to be used is here. Merely having an account, or even having a quantity of ratings, isn't what matters. It's more than that, which is another thing most people have "never heard of", but now'd be a good time to rectify if for yourself.

Cheers.
43  Economy / Securities / Re: btc-arbs: High-Performance, Pooled Arbitrage Fund... Or... ? on: March 26, 2014, 07:13:58 PM
Wow, can you distill that down to a sentence or two? I'm too busy making money...

If you prefer scammy bullshit to reading and thinking, bitcoin isn't for you. Fuck off.
44  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: BitBet Stole ~$7,000 from me (10 BTC) on: March 26, 2014, 01:58:34 PM
Well, it would involve a little investment in development but simply, customers have a wallet address with you, much like any exchange, local bitcoins etc. You accept bets from the wallet address they have with you, if the wallet doesn't have enough confirmed funds to place the bet they can't.

This is how hundreds of bitcoin services work, from bitbargain to bitstamp.

I have a reasonable idea of what your answer will be already.

Your brain does not work. Shut up and read more.

Do you not know how to return bitcoins? You surely know how the bitcoin protocol works and how to steal them.

Not allow != Undo, fuckwit. Shut up and go away, reading isn't your thing. Whatever you think you're making "professionally" posting here is less than you'd make if you just flipped burgers, courtesy of Obama's minimum wage bullshit. Go take advantage of it, that's what it's for, that's what you're for.
45  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why MP is your God. on: March 26, 2014, 01:55:43 PM
I don't know who MP is yet but I will be sure to find out.  I just don't get why people feel the need to put others down for there lack of knowledge.  Maybe it's just me but we should try and show others the way without belittling them.  Just my 2 cents carry on.

Probably something along these lines.
46  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why MP is your God. on: March 26, 2014, 02:20:44 AM
Oh look who's mad.

Virtual Commodity, can you spell that?

What is this, the Our Colonies Inventing Word Combinations Festival?

Are we going to do Virtual Government, Pointless Bureaucracy etc next?
47  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Interacting with fiat institutions [such as the SEC], a guide on: March 26, 2014, 02:19:23 AM
Of course the SEC claims to have, and has the means to enforce in the U.S. and some other jurisdictions, authority over bitcoin securities. That's not the issue. For the record, I'm glad they actually opened a case on Trendon Shavers, a U.S. citizen residing and doing business in the U.S. I'm glad he didn't just get away with it, regardless of who nabbed him. As I mentioned earlier in this thread, I would be remiss not to acknowledge the rare good works done by the SEC, but unfortunately, their record seems to demonstrate that they are better at protecting criminals than stopping them.

I don't think anyone's disputing that in any sense.

The only regret, for us, and the major failure, for the SEC, is the plain observation that had they followed MP's instructions prior to April 2012 instead of failing to follow them in March 2014, things such as the Pirate wouldn't have had to be prosecuted as "massive fraud involving 100s of thousands of Bitcoin, valued at half a billion".

This won't go away: the SEC cost the general public hundreds of millions of dollars through its irresponsible, reckless, and ultimately clueless and uninformed behavior in the Bitcoin market for the entire interval. And it doesn't stop there: many more scams could have stopped if instead of empty posturing and bureaucratic impotence they had in a timely manner adopted a pragmatic approach. It's not yet too late even now. It's late, sure, but not too late.
48  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: BitBet Stole ~$7,000 from me (10 BTC) on: March 26, 2014, 02:04:45 AM
The legit thing to do would be to not allow people to place bets with unconfirmed transactions. Not hard.

How exactly?
49  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Interacting with fiat institutions [such as the SEC], a guide on: March 26, 2014, 12:49:13 AM
And MP if you think you are the most significant innovator in this space, get prepared to unexpectedly kneel.

It's about time we stop pretending that using funny money makes us immune to all existing laws as the people making those laws seem to think they still apply.

Are you trying to argue that Bitcoin is just monopoly money(I'm sure everyone here will takes issues with that )

The IRS got in line today, following MP's judgment on the matter in 2012. Had you simply parroted him instead of pretending like you can think for yourselves, you could still be pretending like you know what you're talking about, instead of squirming like bugs squished under a lulzmine cave-in.
50  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why MP is your God. on: March 26, 2014, 12:27:57 AM
You got this one backwards, they say it's virtual currency, that's taxed like property.
In other words it's a hippo that's taxed like an elephant, go figure.

It is however undecided whether the hippo is stronger than the elephant or if it's the other way around.
I'd personnally bet on the hippo.

If a lion hunter goes through the savannah and says "I am now fishing" and shoots his rifle, I will not say that he caught a trout.

I will say he's a hypocritical bastard, which is hardly news, and that he's shot a lion, which is unsurprising.
51  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why MP is your God. on: March 26, 2014, 12:05:38 AM
MP told you BTC is not a currency in 2012. You idiots spent all of 2013 imagining you know better, and imagining the neckbeard circlejerks you pompously call "conferences" bear any relevancy to either btc or the real world.

Today the IRS joins the ranks of the other US agencies which obey MP's orders and recognize his supremacy over the field: BTC is indeed no currency.

53  Economy / Securities / Re: btc-arbs: High-Performance, Pooled Arbitrage Fund... Or... ? on: March 25, 2014, 11:42:42 PM
Again, I realize this could be a total scam and my money could disappear tomorrow, but the majority of my BTC is locked away in cold storage, and with a small amount of appetite for something higher-risk, I've placed a little bit of BTC here. If its a scam, its a pretty elaborate one, so I figure the guy has at least earned a little bit of my money if he disappears with it. Anyway, I'm openly posting this as a referral link, because if you had not heard of this website and would like to play around with it, I'd appreciate the referral. But if you'd prefer to trim off the 'referral/nightengale', you won't hurt my feelings.

This isn't a good approach to things. People who give money to scammers enable scamming; you're doing more than accepting high risk on your own dime. Have a read.
54  Economy / Securities / Re: Running Poker Site Looking for Investors on: March 25, 2014, 11:36:59 PM
Hello MOPE

Thankyou for your reply and opinion about my capabilities. I am actually not offended but more surprised at everyones ignorance. The reason why i did not present any data is due to the same reason why people dont like to hang their laundry in the balcony. Its something personal and if you or anyone is interested all i would need is a small hint and would gladly open up the books for you.
I dont want to present a running business expansion plan on a forum with over thousands of memebers and many people in the same line of work prowling the internet for their next big idea.
Still thank you for your concern and if you want to know anything email us at smackthatace@gmail.com and i will be glad to answer your queries.
Make sure you do send me a proof of funds before you intend to waste both our time.
Good luck !!!

Your capabilities? How about you start with demonstrating that you're capable of reading. So far, it's not working out for you.
55  Economy / Securities / Re: [b]Looking for one or two investors for Start-Up Investment Company[/b] on: March 25, 2014, 11:29:54 PM
I have been involved in funding start-up companies since 1999.

Why make unverifiable claims when there's a nice tidy standard for making sure you don't end up in a position where you'd like to use your experience and reputation but can't?

A percentage of a casino...executive producer credits on the big screen...walking down the red carpet with Hollywood stars and a lifetime of returns is all possible to a select few individuals with the foresight into real investments with Bitcoins.

Get in the WoT, see here, and stop imagining that appealing to people's vanity with unsubstantiated bullshit has anything to do with bitcoin, business, or investing.
56  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [BTC] Offline/Online Wallet on: March 25, 2014, 02:51:37 PM
Who are you, and why are you spamming this subforum with announcements?
57  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANNOUNCEMENT] Bitcoin Exchange Service S-BTC.COM on: March 25, 2014, 02:46:44 PM

58  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is the bitcoin foundation legit? on: March 24, 2014, 02:50:35 PM
There's this group of guys who whant to make some money, so they set up a club where you have to pay for membership, voting, and you get this member banner and a pat on the back. Some other folks want to feel elite, so they pay and walk around, waving their banners, put it in their forum profiles and on their blogs. Why even bother to talk about it, let them play in their sandbox.

Well the part where they go "here, invest in this scam, it's legit, we know" is where fraud starts.

And the part where they go "we're taking donations but not publishing any reports" is where the fraud ripens.
59  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Interacting with fiat institutions [such as the SEC], a guide on: March 24, 2014, 02:49:26 PM
MP is masturbating because Bitcoin doesn't have anonymity. Yet I repeat myself from upthread.

And MP if you think you are the most significant innovator in this space, get prepared to unexpectedly kneel.

You will soon be reminded that this space is fundamentally driven by technologists/technology, not Romanian Wallstreet wannabees.

Derp. Get a number, get in line son.
60  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is the bitcoin foundation legit? on: March 24, 2014, 09:43:55 AM
As of now it is not legit 78.8%

Listen, polls don't render something "legit" or not. You're not bereft of facts; the facts have been amply provided.

Gather opinions and solicit comments all you like, but misrepresenting poll votes as indications of proof doesn't do much.
