In which period, you people, believe that the eos price gonna grow semnificative?
it's obvious that the price start to rise these days, and i think it will grow much faster as time went through, BM really have the ability to make it great to compete with Eth

No, there is another 6 months of ICO and more than 552 million coins to be bought. The price will come down again and likely below 10K sat. Just wait to buy in.

incorrect. 100 million aren't going into circulation (those being held by block.one for vesting over 10 years) so it's now right about halfway (450m)

whats happend with EOS price? Why it went up? any news not currently visible.. Not sure if it is smart to hold or wait lower prices..
I don't want make speculation about why the EOS price is up but i have got new updating from Daniel larimer about EOS.IO Developer Update - Support for Apple's secure enclave and similar technologies you can check out this https://steemit.com/eos/@dan/eos-io-developer-update-support-for-apple-s-secure-enclave-and-similar-technologies if you want make investment into EOS for long term will be more good to hold it but if you just invested into the EOS for short term today is good time for taking profit due to the price is up, so final desicions depending on you.
the price pump little compare with the highest price months ago, i think many people are locked to this coin, especially when they use eos to get into ico on ico.ifo whcih finally get refund
The posibility of your analysis maybe it is true, the causes of EOS price went up and i think many people who invested in EOS token for long term investment and many updating about the projects will be built on EOS platform in the future, include many good news about EOS platform, it is just my analysis fundamental of EOS based on the new information, updating of EOS Dev team https://steemit.com/eosdev/@dan/eos-development-sneak-peek-for-very-early-developers . The other posibility why EOS price went up was just speculation of the traders and investors.
agree, i think its probably due to the big.one online today, and EOS is one of the first five coins listed, this exchange seems to be controlled by Li Xiaolai who is famous in China, and he is a strong supporter to EOS
If we want to know about the EOS price i have found good source of information related with EOS price on telegram
Group for EOS investors and crypto enthusiasts for discussing the latest price speculations and future exchange movements.
We can joint on there https://t.me/EOStraders maybe there are something usefull for making prediction of the price,
so we don't just making speculation about EOS price only.

the analysis in that thread (along with everywhere else, tbh) is suspect  Roll Eyes

If I buy EOS off an exchange, anyway I can transfer it to my Ledger Nano S??

Yes, absolutely. EOS is an ERC-20 token and can be held by any ETH address.

Transfer from exchange to your ETH address on your Ledger Nano S. You can then use something like Myetherwallet (MEW) to view/utilize the EOS tokens on the Ledger. Note that you need to hold a small bit of ethereum in the same address so that you can pay gas fee for any subsequent transactions you conduct (sending EOS elsewhere, let's say).

Lastly, be sure to register your ethereum address (that holds the EOS ERC-20 tokens) to a public EOS key that you generate. This is required to access your native EOS tokens once the blockchain is launched next summer.
Resource to help you with that process can be found through this Steemit post.

Cheers

If i already mapped eos public key with myetherwallet, but i still have some eos left in exchange. Do i need to map or do anything again if i want to transfer the rest eos to my ether wallet?

no. once an ethereum address is mapped to an eos public key, all you have to do is make sure your erc-20 tokens are in said ethereum address prior to the snapshot.
46  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: EOS - Asynchronous Smart Contract Platform - (Dan Larimer of Bitshares/Steem) on: October 26, 2017, 02:49:11 PM
Exactly, this is why I start to be not so much supporter, the info for the project are very few..

You must not be looking very hard - there's a ton of information. What kind of information are you seeking about the project? I'd be happy to point you in the right direction or provide some links.

and they raised tons of money.. Do not like this

Something you should like: the money raised is purportedly slated for reinvestment into the EOS ecosystem
47  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: EOS - Asynchronous Smart Contract Platform - (Dan Larimer of Bitshares/Steem) on: October 26, 2017, 02:42:38 PM
Will EOS have a feature of ERC20 token found in Ethereum? I mean will it allow to create a custom token ?

There will be the ability for a d'app or project to create a custom token.

I think it is too far to talk about that since the eos does not finish the ICO yet. The dev team seems not so active

Dev team is active... on what information are you basing this assertion?

and the market performance is also not so good.

This is by design and has nothing with the progress/viability of the project.  Roll Eyes

Is cheaper to buy EOS from Exchanges now, right? Do I lost any benefit doing so?

you don't lose any benefit. tokens acquired through official distribution vs. exchange are the same.

regardless of where you get them, be sure to register your ethereum address with an eos address so you can claim/take control of native eos tokens when the blockchain is launched.

A helpful resource

I love the EOS woodwork, but the price is less stellar  Grin At least the project generates a lot of debate. That means it is very much alive in the minds of the public.

IMO, the price is great and only getting better...  Grin

Hi Hyperme.sh. Having nothing to do with any of the conversation you've participated in within this thread, I'm curious whether you've read this 2015 thought-piece put forth by the Urbit team with regards to digital republics. Given that you seem to possess analytical prowess and put forth staunch assertions, I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on this subject...

a sophisticated scammer like Dan

I didn't know that you would go this far, sladering your superior doesn't earn you any credibility points. It's nice to know though that a combination of jealously and ego motivates your FUD/nonsense campaing.

Now that you told me your opinion about Dan and we are in the name calling process, let me tell you mine about you, an intelligent fool you are, nothing more.

chryspano, if you would like to have video or Slack debate about DPoS, let’s do it! Stop hiding behind personal attacks please.

Cut the crap and go find Dan at the eos telegram, he is often there answering questions.

Please don't.  Grin

EOS is an unregistered security that was sold to some USA and EU investors illegally and it will eventually be delisted like all the other ICOs including Ethereum.

Investors are risking legal and criminal culpability for illegal selling on unregistered exchanges.

why eos is a security?

This sounds like little more than FUD. ICO coins might be securities, but they were issued before the the ruling. China delisted their cryptos, but they are not legaly prosecuting anyone for selling them legitimately. The US can't stop people from having ICOs in other countries and they can't shutdown the internet to stop anyone from selling them to whoever wants them.

Expecting the SEC to remove ETH? Sounds like the people who told me the 'Deep State' would ban BTC. More and more exchanges are going to go decentralized if anything.

FWIW, this Epicenter podcast episode contains fairly good perspective from an attorney with some knowledge on the SEC & how they think about things like ICOs in the context of the question: "can project ____ be considered a security?"

Epicenter #198: Nick Morgan: The DAO, the SEC and the ICO Boom

Note: this only addresses the perspective from within the United States. With regards to Chromatic's point about ICOs worldwide, I tend to agree.

How does dpos protect against the Pareto principle? Won't the large majority of eos eventually be concentrated into a few hands? The only way I can think of is that large stakeholders wouldn’t vote in someone that would hurt their investment.

I saw someone (you?) ask this same question in the Telegram channel. Coincidentally, no answer there either.

I think it's a consideration that merits discussion because there's the potential for concentration of tokens to result in exception influence in the hands of certain parties. In part because as a block producers tenure lengthens, their stake (and therefore voting power) increases through block rewards.

My initial reaction was to reason past it in the same manner you suggested: it's not in the interest of a party with a concentrated stake to harm the ecosystem through which their stake derives value. That said, I'd like to see the conversation along these lines continue because I think there's more to it than the basic conclusion we've both come to.

Overall, I think Dan's position might be to allow it to work itself out based on an assertion along the lines of: "well it's better than anything else out there right now."

Hey guys,

I don't get what's holding us back. Every time I talk about crypto with a family member or someone at work their eyes glaze over.

I feel like I'm the weirdo talking about klingon mating rituals!

Which makes me wonder - why are we still on the fringe? What could we do to take blockchain technology and make it accessible for everyone?

Anyway, that's my rant for today...

What do you think?

IMO it is going mainstream - this is just what that process looks/feels like.
56  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: EOS - Asynchronous Smart Contract Platform - (Dan Larimer of Bitshares/Steem) on: September 20, 2017, 11:21:22 PM
All of the Dan Larimer projects are biting the dust. They are in a downwward spiral and appear to be somewhat abandoned. Maybe it is also the recent decline in hype after those projects were severely overpumped anyway.

Are the projects biting the dust from a use perspective or a speculative investment perspective? Because AFAICT, both Steem & Bitshares have more user volume than either Bitcoin or Ethereum. Now, if you're making the assertion from an investment perspective, sure.

This project should have started with 5mio marketcap to better reflect its development state.

Given that the EOS project is predicated on Steem / Graphene, technologies that have been developed and work, it would seem that the development state is far further along than the 5m market cap you suggest. However, I'm not suggesting it should have a $1.5b (implied) market cap.

Does anyone know how the capacity increase is decided in eos? Is it voted or is it up to the block producers?

Per the white paper:

"A blockchain that adopts the EOS.IO software will award new tokens to a block producer every time a block is produced. In these circumstances, the number of tokens created is determined by the median of the desired pay published by all block producers. The EOS.IO software may be configured to enforce a cap on producer awards such that the total annual increase in token supply does not exceed 5%."

Additionally the white paper speaks to governance and in doing so asserts that:
"A blockchain based on the EOS.IO software recognizes that power originates with the token holders who delegate that power to the block producers."

And as a result, if the median desired pay published by block producers for the block reward is too high in the eyes of the token holders, they are empowered to vote a block producer out for a new block producer.
58  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: EOS - Asynchronous Smart Contract Platform - (Dan Larimer of Bitshares/Steem) on: September 12, 2017, 11:41:12 PM
This may be stupid question. If current ICO price is listed at $0.2615 and there is EOS selling on bitfinex for 0.7-0.8 usd, why can't I just buy at the ICO price and sell 0.6 higher on bfx? What am I missing here?

A significant portion of the funding for each ICO funding period typically occurs in the last 5-30 minutes of the period. So what you see now (~$.026ish) isn't a terrific representation of what it'll price out to at the end. Look at the previous handful of funding periods to get an idea where it's clocking in (generally).
