41  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: This psychology hack helped me become a profitable trader on: June 28, 2024, 11:49:03 PM
If trading gives you the maximum amount of profits, then why won’t stick to it? I believe it’s a case to case basis as well. However, make use of trading profits to acquire other assets or properties as well. When you achieve that, there will be more sense of financial security for you. Keep on trading, but never stop there, utilize it for another great advantage, that is increasing your wealth by increasing your investments as well.
42  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you also panic when bitcoin price falls more than 10-20% in a day ? on: June 28, 2024, 09:38:31 PM
In a day? it's really rare to happen Bitcoin price falls 10%-20% in a day, I would panic, but I wouldn't sell my coins.

But, I've thinking to sell my coins during bull run, so I will hold stable coin and then buy Bitcoin at the bottom, so when Bitcoin price falls more than 10%-20%, I wouldn't panic as I didn't hold Bitcoin at that time.

In order to control the feeling, make sure you only invest what you can afford to lose and you know the reason behind why you hold Bitcoin.
Exactly. It’s rare to see bitcoin dropping that much daily but if ever it happens, I guess I wouldn’t be panicking for that. I invested in bitcoin something that I am comfortable of losing so that will never scare me at all. But if I’m investing all in, probably I would get scared to death and would be highly panicking, good thing I wasn’t like that.

The only way to control your emotions is never expect too much in bitcoin. Know its volatility nature, today you might be in huge profits, but after tomorrow, you might fall for massive losses if you sell lower than the price you buy your coins.
43  Other / Meta / Re: Advantages of Bitcointalk over social media on: June 28, 2024, 03:36:45 PM
I don’t use any social media at all. People say this forum is a spamfest but they probably haven’t seen twitter. Twitter is almost 90% bot fest. I read posts in twitter because people share twitter links a lot. I don’t post anything on twitter and I don’t read anything there in my free time. I deleted my facebook long time ago and never used Instagram. The forum used to be a better place of course but it is still far better than any social media crap out there.
I think it’s okay to use social media provided that you also have your own limitations set on it. For me, I’ve seen it more as a source of entertainment but never for educational purposes as I know majority of these being shared do not have reliable sources at all. And if ever there are, there’s only rare of them.

Unlike bitcointalk, everything comes from its original author itself except for those who are fond of plagiarism. And what’s good thing also is that bitcointalk shares real life true stories and experiences, that would bring lessons for other members, compared to social media where everything is made to become hyped so that views and subscriptions will be maximize.
44  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Your most important crypto advice? on: June 27, 2024, 11:57:25 PM
Don't believe in lies and false accusations but always do your own research. That's the most reliable advice I can give for someone new in this kind of industry. And never go for shortcuts towards crypto trading or investment success, everything comes from hardwork and full focus and attention on your crypto goal.
45  Economy / Economics / Re: Money doesn't guarantee happiness. on: June 27, 2024, 10:57:15 PM
@OP money can provide the person with his needs and can buy temporary happiness but beyond that human happiness does not rely solely on material things. There are people who has not enough food on their table but can still put a smile on their faces and continue to strive to live.  I believe the person spiritual and/or mental health is suffering.  No one in their right mind would take his own life despite of the problems they are suffering.

It is possible that the person stated by @OP that committed suicide has been experiencing stress and or despair.  There are a possibility of a hidden transactions that endangered him and his family's safety thus choosing to end his life to save his kin.  We have this kind of situation where a high ranking official committed a suicide one he and his group were exposed of a scandal that can endanger his family if investigated deeply.
Those are actually happening in real life. In order to save the family's reputation, one might decide to put an end to his life believing that it could be the best solution to his problem. Or just like the case of a celebrity here in our country who committed suicide, the pointed reason are anxiety and depression and without no one at home to comfort him, he just chose to put an end to his life to end all his sufferings. Still, this could be a valid reason though since anxiety and depression are serious mental and emotional health disorders.

Converge FiberXers eyeing to tap former NBA Player Montrezl Harrell this coming Governors Cup conference as reinforcement.

What do you think about this rumor? I think it will be so entertaining to watch with the monster Harrell be playing in the PBA this coming governors cup. I wonder how JMF would be able to stop him. Getting NBA players might help the league to gain interest from the viewers, so they should get some ex NBA players even if it's a bit costly.
47  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why do traders lose money in trading? on: June 27, 2024, 08:38:25 AM
I guess for me, the very basic reason why a lot of traders lose money in trading simply because they fail to execute the most basic trading strategy, sell at a price higher than the buying price. Probably because not all traders are real traders in the market, some are just self-acclaimed and just own the title without having proofs. This boils down to the realization that some traders are not well educated and not well aware how trading works. But mostly, only greed and fear matter to them.
48  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What you need to do if you want to suceed in bitcointalk. on: June 25, 2024, 11:34:08 PM
To transpose a famous quote from Thomas Edison: success is very little percentage of luck and the remainder is sweat, sweat and persistance (you can add a few other bits, too).

It's not going to be "get rich quick without doing much for it", no! You don't rank up quick for nothing, forget it. It's gonna be quite some work, unless you have a lot of valuable knowledge and a lot to offer for many readers which they may deem worth merits. Be sure, this doesn't come for free, either.

Don't open a thread asking what you have to do, that's what you have to do.
This is sharp to the point, thanks for that!
To be honest, you don't need to be obsessed on getting successful here in the forum. It will eventually come in the long run. Yes, it takes time so one should never rush to it. Just enjoy and be productive in the forum, in the sense that you don't get pressured with learning and earning so fast, otherwise you are looking for a shortcut towards success. Be genuine to yourself and to others, and just give your best answers to the questions, something that will be of high relevance. I believe in the long run, success will come to you when you don't put high hopes in it.
49  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: June 24, 2024, 03:07:23 PM
A lot of things could be changing in the Warriors perhaps next season, and their dynasty might have come to an end. Klay is never the same again, on/off performance, Draymond is a head ache, Wiggins also inconsistent. The only players that is untouchable is Steph Curry. The others could let go and be traded and we might see a new and fresh Warriors.
I'm hoping that the changes will be positive. With their experience last season where they didn't qualify in the playoffs, I'm sure they will not keep the same roster on the next season. One player that will likely part ways with the team is Klay Thompson because he might not feel the importance in the team anymore as we have seen him being bence on some of the games last season, so I guess he needs a fresh start, a team that needs his service but most likely his value will drop.

And it's really the age that caught up with them, above 30+ players and in the league there are so much youth and athleticism like ANT in their conference. So they will have to adjust as their formula for success is no longer working.

That's a big factor too, I think even Lebron who are still playing with great numbers now have decline because he is aging, so the same goes with other players although they are younger than Lebron but at 30+, you can't expect a player to be the same, even Curry IMO is not the same anymore.
50  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: June 24, 2024, 02:03:06 PM
Both teams are different as Coach Chot is full of criticism while Coach Tim Coach enjoys the opposite.
Imagine the kind of success he brought to the Philippines, when he assumed as the head coach, he was able to give the Philippines a championship in the Asian Games. it's still fresh in my mind and I'm very proud watching them that time.

Heres's the highlights so we can see it again Philippines vs. Jordan gold medal game highlights | 19th Asian Games

Chot is a good coach before but the problem is he didn't improve his style and adopt the changes of basketball thru the years. He keeps using his methods which is not working now on international scene. He's movement is predictable that's why he lost a lot and that has been taken advantage by their opponent. While Coach Tim enjoys a lot of success since he's plays and rotation is really working which bring them positive result and approach to Filipino basketball fans.

But we can't deny that before Chot Reyes bring an honor for Philippines basketball team so I guess fans should not remember that. Instead criticizing him maybe people still need to applause on past achievement he gets. I understand the frustration of people about his Gilas stints since there's really need a replacement since Gilas performance is declining  and its good that there are changes happen since we see that Gilas became so good at current coaching staff handling them.

He looked bad because after he stepped down, Coach Tim Cone brought a championship to the Philippine team. We will never forget what he did in the past because he was able to bring a championship as well when Gilas defeated China in the FIBA Asia IIRC, but fans wants some consistency, and it's business so I guess it's just right that he leave because the current Gilas team are a much improved team.

Have you noticed, no more Ravena brothers to the team anymore? There two were also criticized, I don't know the reasons but it seems like the fans doesn't like them.

I just finished watching the highlights of the Gilas vs Taiwan in a friendly match.

Here's the link for those who haven't watch the game. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bf5zbUcXNao

JB is back, and he is a very good facilitator with 14 assists in the game but also scored double digit at the same time.
once again, the ball movement is very impressive for the team, they don't force shots, they look for an open man, as a result their effort paid off.

It's a win 74-64.

That's a good tune up team, Taiwan is where Cabagnot is playing currently, they are a strong team as well as Gilas were not able to dominate them although they won by a double digit. I like the current line up, no selfish plays and ISO, they just move the ball more with less dribble.
51  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Recording gambling activities on: June 24, 2024, 01:07:08 PM
In terms of business, a yearly profit or loss is calculated by calculating how much I sold, how much I bought, how much product is left, and I think it should be calculated in the same way in gambling. Like how many gambles I played in a month, how many results went in my favor, how many went against me, how many matches I won, how much profit, how many losses, how much loss. If we can calculate in this way then at the end of every month we will have a clear idea whether we are moving in the right direction or in the wrong direction in gambling. I think most gamblers do not calculate this but it is very important for every gambler.
So are you indirectly saying we should treat gambling the same way we treat our other businesses? The same method we use to know if the business is making profit or not, and if yes, how about if the one is not making any good profit from gambling based on the records he has gathered over the month?
You can choose on how you treat gambling. Because if you are not profitable on it, then obviously you have not future when you are treating it like a business as you are just fighting a losing battle. However, if you have the skills and you have proven you can use it in gambling to be profitable, then that's the time to consider being serious in gambling and try to make a living on it.

Though in reality, gamblers losses in the long run, at least the majority as it didn't say all. still it depends on the game it self, for example, poker, you can gamble with this game, right? And do you believe that there are successful gamblers in poker?

You can see this list with The Most Successful Gamblers Ever
52  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Chased loss, got it back and lost everything. on: June 24, 2024, 10:08:10 AM
The story of winning back losses is an eternal story, I see it quite often, because everyone thinks that they are smarter and more cunning than the gambling system and are able to beat it. Such players have thoughts that he will quickly win back his losses and leave, but in reality this almost never happens, because 2 scenarios occur: 1) the player loses everything, never reaching his wager. 2) The player wins back the amount he wanted, but does not stop there and continues to play. I think that such stories will exist as long as gambling exists, this is an inextricable connection.
That's within us, it's the greediness and lack of discipline with our betting. Well, I have experienced that myself. Sometimes we incur losses and are no longer realistic, failing to understand that the system doesn't favor us. You know the famous house edge that will beat us in the long run. So even if we chase our losses, it wouldn't work because casinos are smarter than us. They will never allow us to gain an edge. They will impose limits, and if we have a big bankroll, it will not be effective due to the limitations on the amount we can bet. What could potentially happen is that we get upset and no longer follow the strategy we created.

That was a long time ago, it's almost 10 years and now we are knocking on that door to be able to enter. I agree with what the above poster have mentioned, our chance in the qualifier is very slim because of the bracket that we are in, even against Georgia, we might struggle, but since Justin Brownlee is still our naturalize player, we just need to move the ball well and have to be consistent with our 3 point shooting.

Looking at the roster's match up, we would have a problem due to size difference, but you know, we Filipinos have this "PUSO" which will lead us to  a possible victory in the game.

If we look at the last 5 games of Georgia, they only won 1 out of 5, while the Philipines have won 4 of 5.
https://www.365scores.com/en-us/basketball/match/olympics-basketball---men-6394/georgia-philippines-1573-20837-6394

So I'm giving it to you to analyze if we do really have a good chance.

I'm pretty sure that "PUSO" is not only the surviving factor here but the executions of plays coming from coach Tim not to drag coach Puso Reyes here but the two got their differences,
Both teams are different as Coach Chot is full of criticism while Coach Tim Coach enjoys the opposite.

though same with you, the size  is by far but the talents for my own opinion Team PH already have the best squad our team can produce, and with JBL they are in the good hand a kind of an all around player who can boost the confidence of the whole team.

We might see our flag campaining for the olympics which all of us for sure will wanted to see, one step as a time just play as one..

Their opposing teams already know how to beat the Philippines, they will probably focus more on defending JB to limit him, if they'll succeed on that, then we have no chance of winning. I hope they have already anticipated that and we will still see their good ball movement.
54  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Recording gambling activities on: June 23, 2024, 01:18:59 PM
I this is only applicable for those huge capital gamblers in order to monitor their progress, keeping a record is safe and secure as well as the visibility will be more clear if a gambler got massive wins or loss.
Not necessarily. You can still track your gambling activities even without starting with a small amount. It’s up to you. As a gambler, sometimes we ambitiously think we can turn gambling into a sustainable activity, like making a living from it. If that is the goal, you cannot just start with a large amount of money without ensuring you can already do it. You need to be consistent to be profitable, so you need to experiment first by starting with a small amount and then gradually increasing when you feel confident that you are making money.

What's important is that you don't let your emotions affect your game plan. You need to be smart and follow your strategy with discipline, so you won't panic when you experience a losing streak.
55  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Nigerian Government plans to begin taxing gambling. on: June 23, 2024, 12:50:16 PM

Corruption is normal in government that's why tons of teams would like to run with the politics and we know how it has a dark secret, sometimes people doesn't have an option still to vote. In my country they can easily deceived with the false promises of the politicians and now after few years they will now suffer with their decisions.

In my country, we are not deceived by sweet promises; instead, the politician with the biggest budget for vote-buying usually wins. I also agree that corruption is everywhere. Once you sell your vote, you have no right to complain about the government. You can't expect politicians to give money for votes and still serve and protect the interests of the people. Of course, they will steal to get their return on investment.

Nowadays, politics has become a business. Sadly, that's the reality, at least in some countries, especially those that are struggling or the most corrupt.
And the main reason why a country gets poor is "corruption".

There is always that condition on the contract that they can kick you out anytime they wish or revoke the contract but they have to pay you the entire agreed amount.

I don't think it work that way, you mean the whole amount of the 4 years contract? That seems a lot of money to waste in case a coach will be fired during his first year.

Your statement maybe right, I won't anymore edit my first statement as I said that before this research made. So according to this reddit post, when a coach gets fired, he will be paid for the rest of his contract but once he is hired by a new team, the previous team will be relieve from their responsibility of paying the coach.

This is the source of information.

no Suns were relieved of paying the remainder of his deal, once the coach got hired as a head coach by another team

its why Monty got such a high salary from the Pistons. he was still getting paid out $8m or something from the Suns for sitting.

in a way firing Monty also saved Ishbia money bc Vogel likely didnt sign for as high a contract figure.

you can double dip in salary as long as you dont sign as a head coach though— ie Mike Brown was still getting paid out by the Cavs when he was an assistant coach w the Warriors

*Is it possible that good contents can be dubbed from this forum, that is, is it a place where good contents can be coined out from by other creators, without any references to this forum?

There are so many things here to be used as good content if someone wants to create content with the informations that has been well detailed by the members of this great from but if the informations are to be used outside this forum to other places like social media, I think without dropping the link to show where there information originally came from the name of the owner of the information should be stated there it doesn't stop your followers from giving you the credit for sharing such information with them.

On a second thought, social media is full of lies a lot of people have left the original purpose of creating content which is to spread good information and to educate people on the right things to do and have turned the social media space to a place for chasing clout and jokes, if you want to create content with bitcoin related information a lot of people who are not bitcoin lovers will either turn the information upside down to misinform people or they make mockery of the person who's taking out time to share the information due to their hate for the growth of bitcoin.

Well, that's one thing I hate about those people who are not open-minded about bitcoin because instead of taking the time to understand about bitcoin, they immediately criticize it and end up with a wrong conclusion, the reason why only few of the content creators focus on bitcoin. But nevertheless, bitcoin creates an informative and educational content for those who are very much open about bitcoin, these are probably those who are not narrow minded.

You’re right, don’t feel too regretting because everyone has certainly pass that stage, doubting the potentials of bitcoin since all we heard about it is telling everyone that bitcoin is a Ponzi scheme, and that it’s design to become a tool to all scammers and hackers, and encourage money laundering in the process. Good thing there’s bitcointalk forum that clears up everything. I know a lot have gone this kind of experience but the important thing is we end up never believing, and now we are already earning well and making significant profits out from bitcoin that we used to doubt before.
60  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Devin Haney - Sandor Martin Ordered By WBC For The Light Welterweight Title on: June 22, 2024, 12:52:26 PM
Look at it here: Haney is unsatisfied with Ryan's one-year suspension and regaining his undefeated record. He wants Ryan to pay more because his value as a boxer was greatly diminished because of his loss to Ryan. His next title defense can only get him $1.4 million.
Whatever Haney does, people's impression of him will never change; millions have watched how Ryan exposed him, he will never get more than $20, and there will never be a Haney-era unless he knocks out Tank or Garcia. Still, I doubt if he can do that.

Unsatisfied by NYSAC’s Ban, Devin Haney Vows to Sue Ryan Garcia Further for Damages

Damn, he is pushing it too far; it seems like he still hasn't gotten justice for that fight. Well, maybe his value diminished because people now think he is no longer unbeatable. So, I guess that's what he really cares about: what people say. Haney is not even a PPV attraction, so this is too much. I mean, he is supposed to act like a warrior, not a warrior in a legal battle.

In terms of money, he already has a lot of it. And of course, for Ryan, even if he loses that case again, he can surely pay that amount. But like you said, people will never forget how Ryan beat him.
