The money in mintchip has a centralized distribution architecture, even if it can be used in a decentralized way. It does not require hashing power to be secure, it requires whatever signature algorithm the chips use to remain secure from people trying to hack the chip.

Of course the banks won't want anything they can't centralize to succeed, but what they are forgetting is the sheer security needed to have money in a digital format, BTC has taken 4 years to get just over 11,000,000 extremely secure digital mintage, what are these Banks gonna use in 4 seconds/minutes/weeks/months even years with next to no hashing power?? - MD5 LOL?

soon it will be a lot less profitable mining FTC as everyone jumps into this band wagon, which will only make it worse and maybe quietly kill the coin. Too fast a growth rate like this (from 27 this morning to 40 now a few hours ago) doesn't look good.
It's less than double, it's not too big of a deal. We had jumps that were 2x and even 4x back when it first started. It'll survive a small jump from 27 to 40. Litecoin had gone through a bigger jump at higher difficulty and it's alive. Or take a look at TRC and it's crazy life, yet it's still here. Of course BTC was always profitable from day one wasn't it?  I'll continue to mine regardless of profit and as for profit I have never even taken any in 5 months @ circa £70 a month in electric while mining BTC + LTC, I'm sure I don't mind doing it with FTC either....Yes I have traded LTC for BTC & BTC for more BTC or LTC or FTC etc, etc, etc ....But not once have I took $ or £ in return....Why TF would I do that? I believe in crypto FTW whether BTC, LTC or FTC. |

Agreed I have just read most of the comments also, its very good! Is there anything that Bitcoin can do to force the Banks to change their mind though? Or will this just be a closed shop with regards to Canada? TBH I reckon it would/will just go to OTC dealers if the Banks are not interested in supporting it. IE: Make something illegal and you automatically create another market. |

haha nobody will buy ur shitty altcoin for ltc worth 1000 bucks. Apparently you don't know the market very well then. I've sold multiple sets for 45 ltc per thousand. nice deal for you, sad deal for your trading-parter. dont know why the hell someone valued this new altcoins this high. in my opinion all these btc/ltc copies will disappear as fast as they appeared and many noobs loose a bunch of real valued coins, and some altcoinfounder made good money.... Some ONE didn't value them this high, the WHOLE of the Free Market did, when will people grasp the concept of Decentralisation & Free Markets? It's not just one, it's a lot of ones, from all over the world. |

I'd feel happy, not too sure about the none Geeks amongst us though, having to deal with major decimalisation I know people still moan about 1971 onwards here in the UK (let's hope Granny gets all 8 of the points this time ), especially for everyday item purchases and bargain hunting, but I suppose they will just have to adopt and then adapt.  |

Had a successful trade with Majormax. now: 2.5kFC are left to sold for 34 LTC @ 1 kFC ... prices are rising Come on man you're making me nervous. I sent you the coins an hour ago and no response... I sent him coins 15 minutes ago. Haven't heard back from him since then  I'm pretty much ready to drop the S-bomb at this point. What do you think? ouch ...i havent got a reply from him.... are my precious ltc gone?  I hate hearing shite like this Why do people have to scam? It's just plain wrong, if this is an insight into the new era of digital currency then we are gonna need lots of crypto punishment hashing too! OK: ISO-4217 states that the first two letters should be country code  Perhaps one day an ISO for crypto currency will come out and I bet that will have three letters too. I will update the clients to use FTC and publish in the week. No need to update but I will post back here when the change has been made. So we are officially changing from FC to FTC? I want to make sure I promote the correct abbreviation. It is official. We are changing to FTC taking on the family name from BTC and LTC. It seems right. Will that do? Now you STFU |

If you like FTC so much, why do you disrespect them by having "FC" in your sig? Because that's actually their ticker symbol. "FRC" is Freicoin. But you haven't heard of Freicoin, have you? Actually, I hate to say this, but FTC is now the official abbreviation, it will be updated in the Client over the next week or so! Either way Feathercoin is remarkable progress! Huh. Well, I guess that says something if Feathercoin can just steal the ticker symbol out from an older coin. Huh? F RC = Freicoin & F TC = Feathercoin Or have I you missed something? |
