Just jumped in for 4 shares. If I get more money together and did a seperate transaction is they any way to combine them?

Order #360 paid for, transaction ID: 870ea4a56569eb0e7d59bdb991a6d492080bf9c8504f69793922869e996478cc

In the spreadsheet for ease of tracking each order is done separate, before payouts for ease of sending payouts I'll more than likely combine shares that payouts are issued to the same address.

So if you get more funds just place another order, the payment address will  be different and the site will only say you purchased the 4 shares for the tone order.

That works for me. Thanks.

Has anyone seen this article claiming specs for Avalon Gen2?
http://thegenesisblock.com/avalon-announces-gen2-specs-7-5-ths-prize-open-source-board-design/

The claim the chips will be 1-1.5 GH/s

I'll be damned if SB uses my assembly parts to build ANYTHING from Avalon without refunding me the full cost first.

Possibly the worst part of this entire thing is that SB has lost ALL credibility with me. That unfortunate fact makes the idea of buying Avalon Gen 2 chips for him to assemble intolerable to me. I'd rather lose my entire assembly costs than give Avalon OR SB another penny.

It's really too bad. I thought Steamboat was offering hands down the best group buy and assembly option. I still can't believe Steamboat frittered away our trust by continually making the SAME mistake others have made. He even recognized the communication problem, but didn't fix it. Doh!

Communication really is key. Poor communication loses customers. Period.

Unfortunately I have come to accept that a full assembly refund is not an option. I don't think that Steamboat is legally obligated to anything although many people on these forums will claim otherwise. I too am very frustrated with the lack of communication, but to me it comes down to make an financial decision as to whether the 25% assembly refund that has been thrown around or going with Gen2 will result the most money. If I were to purse the Gen2 option it would be Avalon that I would be more weary of.

You needing to reading again.  They still be waiting on Avalon batch.

Those chips had to come from somewhere. Also http://thegenesisblock.com/bitmine-ch-receives-first-avalon-asic-chips-in-august/

There seems to be some more proof of another shipment today here: https://bitmine.ch/?p=819

Does anyone know when this group made their chip order? I could not seem to find it on their site, and it was not in the tracker: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AiLYkKIHJaIsdHpIaGdUOWRYVUdncTNpNlVKbVhCbEE#gid=0

50  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Klondike - 16 chip ASIC Open Source Board - Preliminary on: July 19, 2013, 03:56:45 AM
Thanks for setting this up. Is there any chance you could put together an option for a K1 or K16 board with parts. I am guessing that there will be a lot of people interested in something like that as it would bring down the total cost.
51  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Board/Chips in stock ready to sell? on: July 18, 2013, 10:46:02 PM
Honestly you are really late to the party. Most people ordered Avalon chips in late April to early May. There are rumors of chips starting to ship for those first orders. You can be a part of Steamboat's batch 7 on the Liquid Synergy Designs forum (I saw you posted there to). There would be at least a 10 week lead time once batch 7 is ordered. Once you have chips ordered then you can setup assembly of the chips on board. That is what Steamboat's site is for.

I am currently working on a solution to this issue, though my board will require a Raspberry Pi to get the full functionality from it. PM me for details, I am currently waiting on the first batch of boards to finish testing before I post board files/code in this thread and elsewhere on the forum. I am considering selling kits on Tindie but want to gauge interest before I announce anything. Regardless of whether I do kit sales or not the required files for having your own copies produced will be posted, along with the full BOM and arduino code.
I am interested. PM Sent.
I plan on using these: http://www.karlssonrobotics.com/cart/atx-connector-breakout-board/?gclid=CKqhvv_Y7bcCFWrl7AodP00AHg
It's simple enough and gives you a way to mount it somewhere. You just need to put pins in two of the holes on it and you can probably find a nice switch/button that you can use to turn it on/off. You can find more complete versions of it with the power button on it already for a few bucks more. Just google "ATX Connector Breakout Board" and you will come up with a bunch of options.
I have read some of the comments on the sparkfun page for that item and it seems the circuit traces running from the ATX connector are not very wide. I would advise against trying to power the miners off this connection. Besides, according to the Klondike design you will power the miners from a standard 12V ATX connection, not the chunky 24 pin mobo connection. My solution introduces ACPI-shutdown like features to the RPi, delivering power and a way to gracefully shut off the RPi for maintenance, etc.
Steamboat. Will there be some type of control board for a psu to attach to and distribute power or would we have to short the psu to run it manually?

Depending on what your solution can do I was just going to use this to turn off/on the ATX power supply. I am running the Avalon Chips off of PCI P6 and adapter to P6.

Would you be willing or able to do assembly for a K1 Nano USB miner for everything BUT the ASIC? Would that be any cheaper than the 0.1 BTC listed?
54  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: May 09, 2013, 02:41:02 AM
One option that I wish that was available was to have either the 16 or 64 board to order without Avalon chips being installed. Hopefully this would be cheaper and allow me to get a system up faster as I don't have to deal with the wasted time of shipping chips back and forth.

So, you have access to a reflow oven?

Just curious.

Tricky warranty questions may arise if one of the reflow ovens (TerraHash's or yours) winds up not being calibrated properly and, as a consequence, damages/destroys one or more of the electronic components.

Yeah I work for an electronics company that has a reflow oven I can use after hours. For me I am most concerned about the turn around time. If I can get a board from terrahash or directly from BBK that should help me to get mining with the chips faster.
55  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Ann]Purchase ASIC chips now: 1278 available on: May 08, 2013, 07:46:48 PM
26 minutes left to order. Any orders placed after 12pm UTC will use the modified rate.

Processing orders now, will update with total remaining.

The original post says until 12:00 PM UTC on Thursday May 9th. Where did the 26 minutes come from?

57  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Verification failed, check hardware with every miner EXCEPT Phoenix on: May 07, 2013, 01:50:49 PM
I've been mining for a few days now and when I first started out, I couldn't submit any shares because it always returns a "Verification failed, check hardware!" warning.

I did some googling and it seems to be a common problem. I tried everything to no avail until I tried mining with Phoenix 1.7.5. Smooth as silk.

I'm not sure what's the difference between Phoenix and the other miners. Some enlightenment, anyone?

Phoenix is a good miner.  Do you need a different one?

CGMiner's FAQ has driver and SDK suggestions.  It is very difficult to back level the SDK if you installed 2.6 or later.  So if you don't need SDK 2.6 for the 7xxx series cards be careful to never install it.
Sam

Phoenix is okay, but I was seeing much better numbers with cgminer (1800 MHash versus 2100 MHash). I did install SDK 2.8. I guess it might just be best to try and reinstall my system again.
58  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Verification failed, check hardware with every miner EXCEPT Phoenix on: May 07, 2013, 01:36:19 PM
Same here.  I can mine LTC OK using Reaper, but BTC and LTC with cgminer is stuffed.  13.4 drivers on a fresh install of Windows 7. Sad

I am assuming that you are using 64 bit windows 7? I have had the same issue with both 13.1 and 13.4. From what I have read it is really the AMD APP SDK version that matters not the driver, but I have not been able to get a working version back up. Before I reinstalled my OS I had a working setup with 13.1 drivers.
59  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Verification failed, check hardware with every miner EXCEPT Phoenix on: May 07, 2013, 01:28:27 AM
I am seeing the exact issue. Unfortunately, I do not have a solution for you. My setup is (3) 5970s with windows 8 Professions 64 bit. I can tell you that I had a working system before steam updated my ATI driver to 13.4. Since then I have not been able to get back to a good working state. I even reinstalled my entire OS.

Now that you are hoping for a few different boards, can you give so updates for cost with and without parts? I am strongly considering going in on the funded ASIC group buy, and I am just trying to figure out how many I can afford. I am not looking you to lock into a price, maybe just a ballpark. Especially for the 64 chip board you mentioned.
