As for what to do with them, purchasing a game bundle might be worthwhile since you'll at least get some hours of enjoyment from them. You could always go the gambling route, too. Be aware, though, that you spent months trying to accumulate that coin. Hopefully you can get some months of enjoyment back Smiley
Yeah, I purchased Mini Ninjas, along with other 3 games that may be good on the bundle, and it's awesome I will enjoy it. So the best option is to HODL them until another good Humble Bundle shows up XD. It will be worth, at least for me Smiley

Hey, I discovered KHs Cloud Mining. What do you think, it will be profitable? I think that at least it's a better option than loosing them all at gambling.

Ok I think I get it, HODL stands for HOLD and is intentionally miss-spelled for some reason... Well, I made my first purchase with BTC, the Humble Bundle of this week. The transaction was done through CoinBase so it was validated automatically and everything were fine.

But by the end of this week I will have again $4 (I was so near the $5, and the Humble purchase was just $1), so maybe I HOLD them and wait for the next good bundle

Good work on accumulating even a bit of Bitcoin. I suggest doing research around here, and following some crypto twitter feeds. If you're looking to make more, trading altcoins is very profitable, but also risky. Trading btc will not net you as large profits with your amount, but it is relatively stable, and should help you learn trading. Best of luck!
Yeah, I also though about trading, in fact there is an interesting anecdote that happened to me. Coin-Swap had some problems with the withdrawals 2 weeks ago, after they solved it, my withdrawals still didn't work, didn't even appear on the history, probably because the withdrawal was in some kind of Limbo xD. So I purchased a few DOGEs and succesfully withdrawn them, after that all the withdrawals are working fine. Later on I sold those DOGEs and even get some profit, something around 50 satoshis, but well... And this don't ends here, I tried to do that also on Latium and I get profit once more... 2/2 Profitable trades and were my first ones, I think I have some potential as trader HAHA, or maybe was just good luck, that's the most probable option though.

Interesting suggestions, but what means HODL?
47 Other / Beginners & Help / What should I do with over $4-5 worth in BTC? on: July 20, 2014, 05:18:04 PM
Hello everyone, since a few months ago I started gathering BTC from faucets and PTC's based on BTC, and recently I also sold some Latium and Doges(which I got from Freedoge.co.in) at Coin-Swap, and after all that time I have know at the time of writing this $4.60 and I'm waiting for the next Doge payout. I started gathering BTC because I wanted to make my free time more profitable, and also with the idea of purchase a Humble Bundle with BTC. For those who didn't know about it, Humble Bundle is a site where you can get some good games for just $1, but probably what you didn't know is that you can purchase it with BTC, there is a tiny link titled "or buy with Bitcoin!" below the Google Wallet payment button.

But the point is that I'm waiting for a Great Good Offer, or some offer with a game that I like, also there is another great place to buy games at good price: The Steam Store, sadly this one don't accept Bitcoin, yet...

So I'm wondering if I should try to sell the Bitcoins for dollars, that's why I opened this post.

I took a look at BTC-E, however it seems that is not possible to sell such small amount, or very difficult at least... I don't know exactly how works the order system there. At Coin-Swap there is a feature called Auto-Buy/Sell orders, these are orders that have their own balance, so for example if someone is asking for 100 LAT and you sell 5 LAT to him (by placing a sell order at the same price per LAT) the 5 Latium will be deducted from your account and the buy order, and you will receive the correspondent BTC. So the order will be asking now 95LAT. Is that feature available on BTC-E?

If that's the case I can try some workaround to get my money on PayPal, by withdrawing the dollars to OKPay first (the minimum withdrawal is just $1) and then going to Magnetic-Exchange which seems legit and exchange it for PayPal.

Another option is to sell them directly here to someone trustful.

Alternatively I can just wait for that Great Offer a little more, also the CEO of BitStamp in some kind of Bitcoin conference he said on an interview that Bitcoin value will rise up to $2,000, so maybe it's worth to wait for it.

What do you recommend me? Wait some more time, sell them through BTC-E (if possible) sell or them here.
48 Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Make up to 63,000 satoshi with Latium on: July 12, 2014, 08:51:49 AM
Yeah, the offer is still available, specially now that the price has risen so much xD. I assume that your are the same that sent to me an e-mail saying that you have problems synchronizing the wallet, in any case I will say it for anyone that's having problems synchronizing the wallet.

The first option is to restart the wallet when you notice that the block remaining counter seems frozen, the counter is on the bottom-left corner of the window:

I had to re-start it a few times until I get it synced.

If restarting doesn't works check the network options. From the menu choose Settings>Options... >Network Tab. Be sure that UPnP is checked, that option will allow the wallet to dynamically open the ports for the connections.

However there still might be some firewall blocking the connection, if that's the case try to open the port 12688, I think that's the port that is using, just for be sure you can check it in Help>Debug Window>Open Debug Log File, It may take some time to notepad to load the file, once loaded on the notepad use Edit>Search... (or the correspondent Hotkey, this locale-specific so I can't tell what it is, maybe Ctrl+S) and search for trying connection you will see an IP address like 10.20.30.40 followed by :<Port Number> that port is the one that you should check that it's not locked by any firewall.

If nothing of the above works, I can give you some Help Desk via some Remote Desktop software.

49 Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Make up to 63,000 satoshi with Latium on: July 04, 2014, 06:45:01 PM
I am offering a RefBack of 2 Latium for joining as my referral, this means that I will pay you a part of the benefit that you generate by joining as my referral, in this case 2 LAT of the 5 that you generate, there is no catch.

But first of all some considerations about Latium:

It's a pyramidal cryptocurrency, so the ones who join earlier will make more profit, while the last ones will make less, or even zero. Be Quick!

You can trade them at www.coin-swap.net, the price is very volatile like any cryptocurrency, but if you are lucky enough you can make up to 9,000 satoshis per Latium, you can see the market history here: https://coin-swap.net/market/LAT/BTC

I don't know why some people are paying such amount per Latium, having in mind how much easy is to get, maybe they are some visionaries, or just idiots.

Either if you are a visionary interested in getting Latium or a trader/seller I think this opportunity I'm giving to you is very good. You will start up with 7 LAT (5 per joining + 2 per refback) instead of just 5.

If you are interested in joining this opportunity, follow these steps:

1- Register at Latium using my affiliate URL http://www.latium.cc?a_aid=53b16826ebe6e&a_bid=135c5829

2- Download a wallet client from its official site. For security reasons I recommend you to use either Linux or Mac, also I have experimented some trouble synchronizing the wallet the first time with the Windows client, I had to restart it a few times.

3- Click on receive coins and send me an e-mail with the address shown there (you can right-click>copy address) from the same e-mail you used to join latium. I will use it to verify you really joined as my referral and to contact you if something goes wrong.

Send it to this e-mal: lordscales91@hotmail.com. The subject must be exactly: "Latium Refback Request" (without quotes, I will ignore any message without this subject) the body of the e-mail must contain your Latium address DOUBLE CHECK that it's correct, it may contain also some comments/grateful words, they will be appreciated.

4- After I receive the commissions on my wallet I will send your 2 LAT to yours, and then. Profit!

You are totally right, today the mining is handled only by a few mining networks, that should not suppose a problem as long those networks are not able to falsify BTC (at least I think so, but... Is it possible for a mining pool to validate fake transactions?). On the other hand there is another problem related with that: The Rogue pools.

Pools that only think in money, what will happen in 2050 by the time when the maximum BTC will be reached? If there is no profit for validating a transaction. Why would a miner spend his computing power (with all its related costs) for nothing?
51 Economy / Service Announcements / Re: bitcoin.com.es - new exchange for users in Spain / compraventa de BTC en España on: April 24, 2014, 01:52:09 PM

52 Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can someone explain this charts? on: April 23, 2014, 12:45:38 PM
There are more things that you can buy with $7 in PayPal than with the same amount in BTC. For example you can purchase some good game at Steam, purchase some special goods on almost any MMORPG... I might write some topic about that to talk in detail about what you can buy for small amounts of money. With BTC you can purchase games at Humble Bundle, and of course there are several merchants that accept Bitcoin, but I haven't spotted any of them with INTERESTING/USEFUL low-cost products.

So that's why I plan to exchange the BTCs for any other currency (once I get a big enough amount or the BTC price grow up, like I said before). But I don't want to involve banks in the process, that's why I want to exchange it through PayPal, but most of the Brokers don't accept it.

VirWox say their fees are the lowest, but don't specify too much.
53 Economy / Trading Discussion / Can someone explain this charts? on: April 23, 2014, 07:20:17 AM
I'm starting to gather my first Bitcoins from faucet and well, I want to exchange them for Paypal USD once I get a big enough amount like $5-7 in BTC. However I'm aware of that risk thanks to this post https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=14632.0 So, my idea is to use VirWox to buy SLL with BTC, and then immediately re-sell those SLL to Paypal, it seems a safest way to do that. However I don't understand this charts:

https://www.virwox.com/market_depth.php?instr=11

I'm also confused with those charts

http://bitcoincharts.com/markets/currency/USD.html

Can someone please explain me how this work?

Can I exchange those small amounts of BTC or they need to be larger?

Fraud is easy? Really? Why?

due to paypal payment can be canceled.

try specoin.com

but you should first find some good reference before buying anything.
I have no experience with them,

Is it so easy to cancel a Payment with PayPal? I didn't know about that, so you can easily cancel an already made payment just by clicking an option? That's not a good behaviour for a Payment Processor.

I took a look at some traders like BitStamp, but they require you to deal with bank accounts, the first time I read about the Bitcoin I was told that one of the advantages that it has over fiat currencies is that you don't need to deal with banks... So that statement isn't totally true due to the fact that if you want to purchase or sell bitcoins, you need to use a bank account, unless there is some LEGIT trader accepting Paypal.

Also I would like to the deal with the lower amount as possible, at least 1$.
57 Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Some questions about the bitcoin system on: March 06, 2013, 05:15:10 PM
Ok, one more question (or maybe two), the last one before starting to test it myself. I'm a little lost with the BTC addresses and their respective private keys. How this work, one is for receiving and the other for sending? So may I securely generate a wallet and then just use it for receiving (from free faucets, donations, etc...) until I have a good amount to spend it in something?
58 Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Some questions about the bitcoin system on: March 06, 2013, 02:38:10 PM
Thanks to all of you for your answers, now I understand a lot better how the system works, special thanks to DataPlumber for his post that I (almost) understood perfectly because I am an IT Tech so I'm familiar with mostly all the things that you mentioned there.

I thought that once the 21 million BTC are generated the mining will stop, because there will not be a compensation to the miner, but that was because I didn't know about the transaction fees. So once the 21 million are generated that will mean just that a transaction fee will be mandatory and more expensive.

He is welcome to believe it is a scam if he likes, it doesn't affect me at all.

Yes, but it does to me, because I want to know if is really a scam or not, I want something to start trusting in bitcoins

Thank you for the answers. Now I have a new question, I found a blog entry tagging the bitcoin system as SCAM http://www.good.is/posts/why-bitcoin-is-a-scam/

How will you defend the system from Tim Fernholz's arguments?
