41  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Blockchain wallet "estimated confirmation time unknown" on: May 15, 2013, 09:42:04 PM
Please guys, is it possible that the transaction simply hasn't been included in a block yet since blockchain.info didn't ask for a fee?
42  Economy / Service Discussion / Blockchain wallet "estimated confirmation time unknown" on: May 15, 2013, 08:49:44 PM
Hi everybody,

A payment was sent to me at 1:30 EST today from a blockchain.info wallet. Blockchain.info confirms that the transaction was sent: https://blockchain.info/tx/25de6b65f77fcd27668c80e4e3ad20c97ed0c0adbea2b22d6d5f3b2122ed7e58

But it says the estimated confirmation time is unknown. Further, the address I received it with is a bitcoin-qt wallet; it hasn't even showed up on my client.

What could be the issue here?

Still offering this service to people who need it. I can find a way to shave price down a bit more with rebates and games.

Thanks!
58  Economy / Lending / Re: Looking for a 0.122 BTC loan. 50 % interest. 2 weeks. on: May 09, 2013, 05:40:59 AM
Haha I don't do much for loan's I did two small ones as I saw people needing a hand, one guy paid back 3 weeks early, this guy has told me he has other places to invest and isn't pay me back,

Apparently he is buying mining hardware, but can't afford a .122 loan lol

Sorry friend Sad
59  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Mine for Africa- Change the world now on: May 09, 2013, 05:06:17 AM
I guess the question really is- what are you trying to accomplish? A while back I was trying to get Bitcoin up and running on Sugar (didn't get it working, but I'm not very experienced anyway).

If the Somali Pirate thing was still going on that would have been a good way to inject bitcoin into a part of africa. Good being relative of course.

South AFrica for example has very high smartphone penetration as do many other african countries. Internet access in many countries is very cheap, as are the chinese smartphones that people access it on. Rather then approach it as an AID project, I think you would have much more success approaching it like any other country. Some of the largest and most expensive cities in the world are in Africa. I think your project would be more of a success if you avoided the 'poor african' idea entirely and treated it like an emerging market. Africa in many ways is the next Brazil. China is already incredibly heavily invested in Africa with many africans actually speaking Chinese in markets where the chinese are building heavy ties. If you look into Angola you could be forgiven for thinking that Africa might become a Chinese colony.

Thanks for your suggestions! I value them from you. I am working on FPGAs that can run on solar power, so they would be very affordable and portable and not very expensive to set up in a sunny country. This project can be different though, because it is not for my profit.

I think the idea should remain that 10,000 people running CPU miners at 2kh or so for a day could buy a few bottles of water for some Africans in need. Haven't you received a free "handout" before when you were out of money or sick? Believe me, if this project was creating a culture of dependency in an African country, we would be A) incredibly successful B) in need of augmenting our project ambitions.

This sounds like a really good idea, however may take a lot of work and a lot of dedicated members.
But, I think people are more than willing to help out, I like the look of this.
Keep us informed.

Thank you! Do you know how to implement a CPU browser miner? Do you know anyone who can? That is the current task.

Of course promotion, donation of time or pocket change, and front end dev are always welcome Smiley
60  Economy / Lending / Re: Looking for a 0.122 BTC loan. 50 % interest. 2 weeks. on: May 08, 2013, 08:09:46 PM
Upon contacting the borrower about tomorrow's repayment he has told me he is unable too..

Waiting to hear back on his plan's, but at today's value this is less than a $20 loan.

Odd situation you can not even pay that back, apparently borrower will be investing into some other project first.

bye bye money Smiley
Yeah..

it's .122 coins. not much for me to cry over, but a pretty sad amount for the borrower to flop on to have his name smeared.
At this point he can pay me back when ever he wishes at a penalty of 5% daily from today's date going forward.

The other micro loan I did was paid back! So some people are trust worthy Smiley

Good luck buddy, if you get it back I might take you up on a loan Cheesy
