42  Other / Meta / Re: Application for Merit Source - TheUltraElite on: June 14, 2024, 01:25:27 PM
I feel he will get it! Everyone on the local Indian board is waiting for a new merit source as there is no one active. It would have been great if @Theymos could look into his application as he has been very active and has been always helping members of our local board. I see a former or I can say self-declared retired merit source awarding merit to his application but he or she will never come on the board and support us.
Thank you for the support and from everyone else in the Indian section. I never thought the entire board would come in for so much support. Keeping patience for the time being as admin decides on further action.

For the time being, let us keep the board active and welcoming to any newbie Indian member or any older Indian member who wants to join in on the talk after being active only in the Global board for all this while - I know there are many such users out there. Wink
43  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What do you prefer between pure price action and indicators? on: June 14, 2024, 01:18:39 PM
Indicators are only a 50-50 prediction as to what side the market might move towards, they are seldom accurate and should be used cautiously.

To get a proper analysis you have to use your Fundamental along with Technical and past price charts with a tinge of luck.
Still then there is a small chance of wrong prediction because after all this is not an exact science.

However relying only of price will be difficult to manage. You have to see the trend and then decide.
44  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which casino would you trust more: one that requires KYC or one that doesn't? on: June 14, 2024, 01:13:46 PM
A casino changing its TOS eventually from non-KYC to KYC is nothing bad, they probably got hit by subpoena and are now being extra careful to keep the authorities away from their tails. Blame the a-holes who attempt to use tainted sources to the casino attempting to wipe out the trail putting the casino at risk.

It might be frustrating for the honest players but they have no choice here.
I would trust both the casinos provided there are no other genuine complaints regarding their services.

Additionally if your KYC cleared, you feel safe betting big amounts there.
45  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are cold wallets safer than online exchanges? on: June 13, 2024, 05:05:53 PM
If you had a large amount of cryptocurrency would you prefer to keep it on an offline cold wallet or an online cryptocurrency exchange?

Both have pros and cons.
There is no pro in storing coins in a online exchange, it is a blunder.

Aside from the coins that are on active orders, do not keep coins on exchanges because you do not hold their private keys and those coins can go into KYC-lockout/exchange hack and limbo and so on.

While coins on your own wallet are always ready to be accessed. Hence for storage, a wallet is always the best option.
46  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How were you able to handle a losing streak up to 5 times and above? on: June 13, 2024, 05:02:33 PM
OP had a bad run and this is not uncommon, the only thing is that the loss might be big enough not be able to recover it in the next few weeks.

That is the thing with sports betting, you can make a prediction based on past performances of teams but luck factor can ruin your entire betslip and this is a prime example of that. On the other hand I have seen parleys done with multiple wins and that total profit was way higher than the bet.

Hope the OP makes some of it back soon.
47  Economy / Gambling / Re: ✨ JacksClub.io ✨ Daily Contest with Amazing Prices | VIP Rewards | Free Faucet on: June 13, 2024, 04:55:47 PM
I won $45 in ROUND 26
Congratulations, its been a while again since I won one of the top three from their weekly prediction game. Already started to miss the prize LMAO. Indeed winning that and then attempting to double in on the yolo bets on dice or mines seems like a tempting offer indeed. Hope you win big from these yolo bets and cash out with big wins to treat yourself.

Will be joining in on the next round very soon. Good luck on that!
48  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Parents on childs savings bank accounts are waste of time if not saving on BTC on: June 12, 2024, 02:40:49 PM
Try asking this question to any parent who has has a child in the last five years, they will definitely say they want bank deposits before thinking or committing to bitcoin. This is expected because they are accustomed with banks for years now and bitcoin is indeed something new to them and something that has made the negative news in the mass media.

Only few of the forum users here might actually think about doing savings in bitcoin.

If you ask me, I would suggest both because you need fiat in the long run and bitcoin is a upcoming currency for the next generations.
49  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Trading or gambling? on: June 12, 2024, 02:35:21 PM
The way I think of it, is that trading can be divided into spot trading and non-spot trading, where the second one contains all the derivatives, options, leverage, margin and so on. The first group needs your skills, the second group is just gambling.

Gambling is EV+ and EV- and they follow what the spot and non-spot trading grossly are, respectively.

So sports betting can be compared to spot trading, but there are many differences and slot games which completely depend on your luck are similar to leverage and those.
50  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to resolve gambling related wallet issues on: June 12, 2024, 02:32:16 PM
If you are already blacklisted then there is nothing to do about it, appeal to the website and see if they consider, essentially at their mercy.

If you are only starting out, then I suggest using a personal wallet as an intermediate stop for your coins before depositing them on the exchange.
One can also try using different exchanges that have a laxity in the source of funds. If this is the only exchange that your local country people use then you are out of luck.

Address hopping like someone else mentioned, seems to be the best method as of now.
51  Economy / Marketplace / Re: AI related scams and their solutions on: June 12, 2024, 02:26:14 PM
Law makers should understand that this is serious case already so that they can create a law that can give proper online education to people and put some heavy penalty on criminals that will caught doing this illegal actions in their jurisdiction.
In my country they are not really punished because the system is underdeveloped and not robust enough to pin the crime on someone. They eventually get away with it. Hence this awareness needs to be happening in a global scale, or else you will see these scammers migrate from one less developed country to another which is now a safer haven than the previous one.

We can only make people aware but if caught at the wrong time in the wrong place, the victims may lose money like a father seeing his daughter's deepfake asking him for money because someone has caught her doing some bad things. This is what is happening today.
52  Local / India / Re: Election results and impact on crypto policies in India on: June 11, 2024, 02:16:19 PM
Lol, sad to see your excitement ruining. Even I thought there would be a change in ministers but it seems that Modi wants to stick to the existing ones.
Either is too lazy to make a change or may be he already has a plan in place for the upcoming few years.
I am telling you all, they have a plan in place to continue running things like they were and nothing much is going to change. I have to file my taxes now and the humungous amount of tax that I have accrued over the last one years makes me wonder what all I could have saved if I did not have to pay them.

On the contrary, local shops dont give our receipts and downplay their taxes and get full pardon from the government, a system I can never understand why the authorities dont want to change.

Also seeing @Bitcoin Smith with a new signature made my day. Put some centering and coloring codes on them. Dont walk around naked mate. Cheesy
53  Economy / Marketplace / Re: AI related scams and their solutions on: June 11, 2024, 02:10:52 PM
The section that will deal with this is essentially cyber crime and that is way underdeveloped in many countries out there and it is these countries which have become the host for such criminals.

Eventually lawmakers will understand the essence of such scams and put forward suggestions and eventually laws to control and punish such creators. For the time being, we just have to keep people up to date with the latest scams ongoing in the market and not rush to send money to someone who might appear to be someone they know. Cross-verify and contact nearby people first and so on.

There is really not much that we can do on our own at this stage.
54  Economy / Gambling / Re: Which Casino and Sportsbook have the best UI? Which others can improve? on: June 11, 2024, 02:07:34 PM
The more UI elements you bring in the more clunky it becomes and more CPU use on the client side. Thus the UI should be just enough to keep the gamblers addicted to the colours and sounds while also allowing ease of operation and play.

You build the site for the players to start playing quickly and lose their money so the colour of the deposit button is important while withdraw button is not Grin

But jokes aside, some of the sites have overdone the UI and have eventually shaved it down after complaints. Now most of them just look like copycats of one another. Roll Eyes
55  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Land Based Casinos in the Digital Age on: June 11, 2024, 02:04:29 PM
If traditional land based casinos don’t upgrade themselves, then the time will come when people will stop using them, and lots of people will divert to online casinos.
A hybrid mode of casino operation does sound tempting for the gamblers and is possibly the most future-proof method for any land based casino to continue their legacy in competing with the online casinos mushrooming everywhere on the internet.

Still land based casinos have their own elegance and indeed are tourist sites if visited. Again this touristy visits do not bring in good income for the casino itself and hence the regular users are the bread and butter.

To keep that group intact, a hybrid mode may be a step forward.
56  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have you successfully influenced someone to invest in bitcoin ? on: June 11, 2024, 02:00:38 PM
Actually I'm always scared of introducing my friends to this crypto investment reason is because most of them are not educated enough to read and understand how the market works, I'm always scared because they can go with it the wrong way and if anything should happen to their money I will be hold responsible. that is why I always avoid them, not everyone who can bare the risk mostly when it has to do with money they're always careful.
Most of us are scared when it comes to introducing others to bitcoin, you might get mocked by that group or they will be a A-hole and call you responsible when they lose money.

That is why I only tell others about crypto if they are interested to know about it with disclosure that it is a risky asset class to dive into. If the impulse for knowing about something comes from the opposite side, that is the best time to teach someone about that thing.

Still this problem will exist in future too because who wants to invest in something that cannot be felt or seen, they think its a scam in the first place, even though the price is high now.
57  Economy / Speculation / Re: The BTC stability on: June 10, 2024, 09:43:49 AM
People talk about whatever they feel like because free speech everywhere.

No it would be foolish to get money from or into your inheritance. Invest in Bitcoin this life and don't think about what you will keep for your next generation. Similarly inheriting it and it's legal implications we are not clear on this area, so better to avoid for now.

Although Bitcoin is a money for the future and we are hopeful and bullish about it, never go all in on one asset.
58  Economy / Economics / Re: Money addiction on: June 10, 2024, 09:40:18 AM
Matching the status to get cars, drink alcohol and rich food might be one reason why some are addicted to making money but you can leave out the first and still be frugal about spending.

The people who aim for a higher state of living should also be able to earn that big and not just dream otherwise they go for unfair means to make money which is bad

However savings and control over spending can save a good amount too. This is what most people find difficult to achieve.
59  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you lost the money that you where supposed to withdraw from online casino? on: June 10, 2024, 09:32:54 AM
The site did not make you lose the money, you did so by playing again which was preventable. There are often examples of such mistakes committed by the experiences of gamblers. If you are in a net win situation even after these losses then good for you.

If you are not, then consider controlling your urgent to gamble because it was this difficulty that you faced which you could not overcome and thus the loss.

Being able to control the urge is important here and if you are able to do that, you will find yourself being able to control the gambling habit better.
60  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What about low odds in sports betting? on: June 10, 2024, 09:29:22 AM
Your multiplier will be low in these cases. Like close to 1.1x and thus if you manage to get a big number of such wins you might be able to amass a good amount of money if and only if your capital is also big, like say 1btc on 10 such bets. You will end up with 11BTC or more In this example.

But this is risky because a single loss will reduce your capital by a significant amount.

Hence I will not agree that the method is 100% accurate, but risky indeed
