I had a graphic designer create this infographic for Gridocoin. You can use this freely and post it on reddit or other forums to showcase what Gridcoin is all about.
Hi traderman, Amazing stuff! Thanks a ton for doing this! Andrew.

There seems to be an imminent hard fork in the development of gridcoin the developers are talking about making cpu mining also calculate a cpu only algorithm diverting users processors away from boinc You might want to get your facts straight and read a little before you start criticising every step of the development process. Don't get me wrong a constructive critic is welcome, but that's not what you're doing most of the time, imho. Andrew.

...That's hardly fair to the lower power cpu miners.
So are you proposing a system where no matter how much power, time, money etc. a user puts down they will get a same reward? Hardly seems fair to me.

Great concept. You have my support; It give's me a real reason to start mining. The benefit I am providing to BOINC is a kick in the rear to start up right now!
Looking forward to seeing the progression of this coin in the long term.
Hi, welcome! There's a giveaway if you'd like to receive some free Gridcoins to get started. https://cryptocointalk.com/topic/7780-giveaway-20-gridcoins-per-person/Andrew.

GPU minable grc and CPU minable grc are completely seperate distribution methods, so the above suggestion would only affect the gpu miners - it's effectively just taxing the gpu miners more.
Even with scrypt sleep, the 1000boinc point average can be acquired almost instantly with gpu miners. The difficulty should be raised to reflect the work load that gpu farms can handle.
On another note - how does cpu mining work? Is it that there are 75,000grc/day being distributed and it's evenly distributed between hosts according to how much boinc points they submit, to a max of 150grc/day per host?
Also, there should be options to both send a cpu mining beacon and to verify cpu mining is operational, because at the moment you've gotta wait 3 days before you know whether or not you've configured gridcoin correctly.
Do you need to set poolmining up for cpumining, or just cpumining=true in gridcoin.conf file?
Hi, 1. The utilization is calculated 50% from what your current CPU utilization is and 50% from your RACs. 2. We basically don't need to modify the 1000 RACs average that you stated because scrypt-sleep takes care of that. If you have a 100% utilization and your scrypt sleep is 50% then your total reward goes down, because you only hash 50% of the time. However, if you do have ~100k RACs, your scrypt sleep is 100% and even though you have the same 100% utilization as the other user, your reward is going to be a lot more because you hash all the time. The more RACs people have, the more RACs will people need to increase their scrypt sleep so they can hash longer and earn more rewards. 3. CPU mining - 576 blocks a day * 150GRC per block = 86400. That is the CPU mining coin cap. One host can earn a maximum of 150GRC/day and users compete with their RACs for the max reward. The more RACs you have, the more GRC you will earn a day up to a maximum of 150GRC/day per host. 4. Once you setup CPU mining and start your wallet, it checks when and if your beacons were sent and if not it sends them. So if you've never mined you don't need to wait 3 days, it sends them ~immediately...and then again after 3 days. 5. Just cpumining=true poolmining is something different. Here's a CPU mining tutorial. https://cryptocointalk.com/topic/1922-cpu-mining-tutorialtopic/Andrew.

Dear Sir Halford, where will you take us to? First off, I am glad to sit in your boat. I love to participate in science while mining. Hence, I promote your project in many directions and at every occasion! The network has come quite a way since October. Yet, today I am confused - help me please. Yesterday you stated that your main job needs your focus. This was when you speculated on starting anew / creating one more project, for fun. Please say that I got you wrong on that. Be our leader, be Grid. New ideas might breed features, but don't fork your project and your community. Back in Winter, I had the chance to swap a few sentences with you. I asked for your project plans. You said, the chain was already safe for investment. So, I placed some money and followed along, waving your flag. Later, cpu rewards were introduced silently, no community decision, no transparent information politics. Evaluations started to tumble. Meanwhile, more than a million new GRC spill into the network each week. You could at least have halved the block reward since then, imho. Did you consider to discuss this openly? Don't get me wrong, I appreciate your eagerness. Thus, may I kindly ask you to elaborate on your plans for Gridcoin, to set some cornerstones fix and commit to them publicly? Could we place full trust in your endavour? I believe, trust is what an early community needs the most. Continue to be innovative as we have grown to love you, but dont let disruption spoil the show. Therefore, again, please don't take my words as an offense. But, give us a landmark, hand some vision to refer to, please. Let your ppl start to celebrate with you! Hi derm, I understand your point of view and your concerns. I remember that you've been one of the biggest buyers since the beginning. However I have do disagree that things were introduced silently etc. Rob has always been open regarding BOINC mining and explained and discussed everything here and on the other forum. Please read the last post by Rob here: https://cryptocointalk.com/topic/1331-new-coin-launch-announcement-grc-gridcoin/page-118 where he clearly states how much he has given up for Gridcoin and that he plans to do everything he can to see it succeed. Andrew.

...how they make a profit this way They don't make any profit. I think at this point somebody is simply panic selling or was heavily invested in Gridcoin and needs money..so selling at a big loss. This has nothing to do with the real value and amazing potential of Gridcoin. Look at it this way: 1. In recent days we have broken many records at BOINC including going over 100 million total credits. 2. Daily credit record is going to be broken again today. 3. Rob has released scrypt-sleep and after everyone upgraded it's working just perfect now. In the couple days since it's live we've broken the credit records..think of what will happen in a week or a month. 4. We're being added and considered by more and more exchanges and services. 5. There are plans discussed and considered for the future of Gridcoin that will ensure that Gridcoin will be more innovative, more easy to setup and will do a lot more work for BOINC which has always been very important. 6. Also both the 2 main exchanges where Gridcoin is traded have recently been hacked which also affected the price. Both exchanges resolved the issues and are up and running. I personally have a big investment in Gridcoin and think of it that way, I'm in for the long haul and I won't be selling until we hit atleast Top 10 on http://coinmarketcap.com/Am I happy that the price has gone down? Of course not! However I know that this is only a temporary situation and the future of Gridcoin is very bright. I actually started buying a little. Have a great day everyone, Andrew.

Hi guys, Just wanted to let you know. Yesterday I sent e-mails to most of the major exchanges to add us and I think I have some good news for you. Rob I hope you don't mind me taking this step, but I know you're super busy and wanted to help(also I included contact@gridcoin.us so they can contact you directly) Overall the feedback on Gridcoin is very positive and exchanges are starting to see the value it's bringing to cryptocurrencies. Swisscex really likes us and here's our new coin vote post, so please go there and support adding us. https://swisscex.freshdesk.com/support/discussions/topics/1000010995Also I have received reply from Cryptsy that they really like Gridcoin and have moved it for review of the development team. I started a new feature request for Gridcoin there too so please go there, vote and support. https://cryptsy.freshdesk.com/support/discussions/topics/4000003275edit: Also we are up for a voting at Nexxuscorphttps://features.nexxuscorp.com/coinsI'll let you know as soon as I have some more news. Go to the sites, vote, show the great support this coin has from its community and we'll go really big! Have a great day, Andrew.

I agree, I think Rob is a little overburdened right now with development of Gridcoin client, I can rearrange the first page of this thread with all the new relevant information very well, but I am not sure if it is possible unless it is done from Rob's account. I am not sure I can get admin privilege. Hey guys! All people are worried about mining, but as important as mining is to find market to this coin. In last days there has been a huge investment in the cryptocoin market and we need to join efforts for our coin to follow this tendency, since until now there was no valorization. There is some aspects that need a urgent change, a few examples: - Both the official sites and main pages of forum must be periodically updated. Some important information is missing: all sites where the coin is exchanged, the twitter and facebook pages, vote pages to add the coin to a new exchange. - The first and the second sites should be merged. Alternatively, It there should be a link from one to other. The first site should contain more information. - The Logo should be updated in coinmarketcap.com
Thanks for taking care of the twitter acc. +1 to help with the posts etc. I'll gladly help too. I don't have any programming skills(apart from Matlab which probably doesn't count here ) however I would probably be able to help with keeping website/facebook etc. content up to date. etc. Andrew.
