41  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win free Bitcoins every hour! on: November 20, 2017, 10:00:34 PM
Hey Thanks ! . Yeah I see that now .

"Exchange your Bitcoin Gold (BTG) @ 0.019 BTC/BTG by clicking the "EXCHANGE BITCOIN GOLD" link in the front page. BTG withdrawal option coming soon."

i don't see that option though, maybe those who had held BTC at the time of snapshot see it?
42  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win free Bitcoins every hour! on: November 20, 2017, 08:18:20 AM
Any one knows when freebitco.in is going to make the 1:1 Bitcoin Golds out of the fork available for withdrawal to their customers ??

According to their site -
"we shall support withdrawals of all hard fork coins as long as they are viable - ie. have wallet support, a working blockchain and straightforward redemption policies."

As of today ,  BTG has a wallet support and  their blockchains are running smooth. Not sure why the delay in making the equivalent BTG available - for those who has BTC in their accounts in freebitco.in
43  Local / India / Re: Bitcoin Gold Fork on: November 15, 2017, 08:40:36 AM
So the BTG gold mining ecosystem is up .
https://bitcoingold.org/mine-bitcoin-gold-pool/

Did some looking around and these are the sites/exchanges that support BTG (Bticoin gold ) . Btw , the current value as of writing is around $140 ( and falling )

  • Bitfinex
    HitBTC
    Binance
    YoBit
    Exrates
    Gate.io
    Bleutrade
    Braziliex
    BitFlip

Freebitco.in will allow you to withdraw BTG once they have figured out  ( So if you have some BTC there - you will get equivalent ( 1:1 ) counts of BTG ( equivalent to the amount of BTC you had at the time of fork )

Is this pool working ? The site itself is down -

Bitcoin Gold mining pool

http://btgpool.org/

India based server.
0.5% fees

Nearest server to Indian miners.

Completely agree. I sometimes buy from cex.io even though I have to give the 3.5% to them. Atleast they have a transparent rule on how they price the current buying price. Indian bit coin operators are just a bad name for bitcoin itself.

Hi,

Reputed site means ? What is the criteria for these type of provider

from last 2 days i am using zebpay and also watching unocoin

Both sites are not providing good rates to there customer at 5500 rate they are still selling bitcoin @ 460000+ rates
there is only 2 min window when i saw a rate for 448000 rate.

Its disgusting they are stealing our profit.

If rate is down they are not lowering the price for you immediately they hold it for 5 to 10 min , but if it became high they immediately update the higher rates within 1 or 2 min.

Bitcoin is made to make us free from banker but these exchange are exploit more than bankers

46  Local / India / Any publishers using btc advertising networks for your sites ? on: November 12, 2017, 05:48:35 AM
Anyone using any advertising networks on their faucet / sites to earn in BTC ? ( like a-ads etc ? ) Want to know the feed back from these sites and to know which one give better PPC /PPV / CPM .
P.S: I have been using a-ads for quite some time - wanted to know if there are any alternates for it

Thanks

Any other reasons - I don't know  - I have build a liner regression model to even estimate the payout estimate - and I clearly see that they have changed their payout structure.  Feel free to PM me to know about this . ( Not sure if its okay to publish the structure - or even that , the model i estimate is anywhere close to correct )

Since I received a few requests to explain this part - here is the long explanation to this . Here's a preview of what I did .

If you are comfortable with linear regression and you want to do it yourselves , you can just go to your a-ads site ,
get the data in this format for existing data  :

earnings = x1* impressions + X2*as_unit_clicks + X3*affiliate_clicks + Error

Error = the error tolerance ( because of other parameters that are not used in the equation - like quality_of_site )
Note: if you donot have any affiliate_clicks, over a few months of data , this give pretty much accurate results .

Compare it with earnings from a ad-units before last month and then with one in this month. This will give you the two different equations, with two different payout schemes .

Note: To get your linear equation , you can use any tool ( python, R ) or even you can use any online linear regression calculating sites .

Happy to help anyone further - as usual, PM me. Smiley

My aads are redirected since this morning...
could you explain?
and I do not see the aad logo in the top right area...

Not sure about this . Maybe you should raise a support ticket for this . I am a publisher myself and was trying to figure out about a-ads reading in their blog and watching their payouts to my faucet site

yes seems like huge drop recently.
can rarely make above 2k satoshi nowadays.

It could be  because of few reasons, which I gathered after analyzing it myself. I have a few sites which have been affected because of the "low pay out" of late. These are just hypothesis that I can make :
    1. Prices of BTC has gone up so the net dollar amount still remains almost the same.

2.They had a few technical meltdowns in the last few months
with some "unknown amount" of losses from their accounts.
    [/list]

    3.  Not enough paying advertisers , so they are using the space with low return affiliate ads ( mostly their own ads )
You must have seen these messages in your ad units . "Since there are not enough paying advertisers for this ad unit, 78% of traffic is used to display affiliate ads."

    50  Local / India / Re: Segwit 2x Hard fork - Cancelled on: November 11, 2017, 06:48:41 AM
Segwit 2x is NOT about BTC gold.
BTC gold fork happened on 23rd October . And they could immediately encash it post fork in select exchanges and made a good profit out of it.
I don't know what those guys who bought Bitcoin to get free Bitcoin gold for high price will do now. Hopefully they'll have enough patience to hold them.

Was there a time before the mining boom that these cards were reasonably priced or are these like so high end that these prices are normal?
Yes. The prices of ge force gtx 1070 ( SC version )went up by around +$70 in the last 6 months ( currently its selling for around $430 on amazon.com)

Afterall, its all about insider trading and information in the crytpo world right now..
    What Huh
    52  Local / India / Re: Segwit 2x Hard fork - Cancelled on: November 10, 2017, 03:32:45 PM
Well .. It had to fall ! $6735 as of writing . Fall of around 10% over the last 24 hrs. This should continue ! ( Go Bears  !! )

So they cancelled the hard fork. Now the BTC prices should see some downward slope ??

"Advocates for a bitcoin hard fork have now decided to cancel plans for the so-called SegWit2x fork. The bitcoin blockchain was supposed to split into two blockchains in roughly 8 days."

I got my gtx1070 from someone in the US ( via Amazon) . If you can source it from there and 'smuggle' it to india , you could save upwards or around Rs.10K/-  If you are okay with paying the delta , there are suppliers on amazon who do sell at those rates.
One question though - if you are into mining - Why specifically Nvidia ?
55  Local / India / Re: Long / Short Quant Model on Bitcoin on: October 26, 2017, 11:07:59 AM

Where can I buy eth in india? Is there any good exchange that sell or buy ethereum in india?

Why do you necessarily have to buy from India ? You can use your credit card and buy off sites like cex.io  ( 3.5% markup on currency conversion will be charged by your credit card company if you are having one issued in India )

I saw this on the Unocoin site (news release dated Oct 18th) regarding  the Segwit2x fork .

    https://blog.unocoin.com/unocoins-stance-on-the-upcoming-segwit2x-fork-6708bf90b1f9

I don't see anything about the BTG fork as yet on any of the Indian sites. Still looking for a list of wallets/sites/exchanges that have explicitly mentioned support for the BTG fork.
    59  Local / India / Bitcoin Gold Fork on: October 17, 2017, 09:14:50 AM
Does any one know which of the exchanges have promised to give the depositors a 1:1 coin for the BTCs that they hold in the exchange wallets ? (Since crypto exchanges control the private keys and not the people who have deposited their money there, they are not legally bound to give the holders a share of the BTG coins )

Do you know if i hold my BTC in wallets by zebpay/uno coin, they might issue a 1:1 BTG for every BTC ?
60  Local / Mining (India) / Long term effects of mining full time on CPU/GPU on: July 16, 2017, 08:18:31 PM
    Hi,
Not sure if this is discussed here - But wanted to check if there are any long term effects on the GPU/CPU/ Motherboard if I keep the PC running for mining - without breaks . I stop the mining process once in a day and give a break for 30 minutes . I have attached an additional fan ( in total there are 3 fans in the setup)

Here are the CPU/GPU temperatures on a normal day -

    +- ASUS PRIME Z270-P (/mainboard)
    +- Intel Core i7-6700K (/intelcpu/0)
    |  +- CPU Core #1    :     45 (/intelcpu/0/temperature/0)
    |  +- CPU Core #2    :     54 (/intelcpu/0/temperature/1)
    |  +- CPU Core #3    :     49 (/intelcpu/0/temperature/2)
    |  +- CPU Core #4    :     55 (/intelcpu/0/temperature/3)
    +- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 (/nvidiagpu/0)
    +- GPU Core       :   63 (/nvidiagpu/0/temperature/0)  - Goes to 73
    GPU Fan : 1246 RPM

In addition, the CPU is cooled by a copper tubed ( coolermaster hyper 212) and the Graphics card ( EVGA geforce 1070 ) comes with twin fans.
The temperatures in CPU goes upto  80 sometimes and the GPU goes to 70 sometimes.

Wanted to know if the components will burn out / wear out faster than the usual lifespan if I keep it as a dedicated machine for mining 24/7

    Any pointers are appreciated.
