If it's not a huge amount, try spending them on Amazon through purse.io or btc debit cards if you don't want to hold crypto.

I've used Gyft to do this as well. What I've been doing lately is buying on newegg with BTC and using shapeshift.io to convert and send directly to the payment address.
42  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How do we know if our rig is mining or not without remote desktoping? on: April 21, 2017, 05:22:20 PM
Most pools have email alerts. I use ethermine and flypool and have email alerts set up.

If you are solo mining then you would have to look on the console for hash rates.
43  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How do we know if our rig is mining or not without remote desktoping? on: April 21, 2017, 03:33:40 PM
What they said. Make every rig a different worker at the pool and set up alerts.

I use minerstat.com to keep tabs on my rigs so I'm not remoting in all the time.

minerstat.com is good? So do we have to use their pool? Is this the same with http://minerstat.xyz/

There is no pool set up yet. You can use any pool you like.

It is the same site  Wink
44  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Does anyone use asrock btc without dummy plug (or it's equivalent) on: April 21, 2017, 03:25:27 PM
It doesn't have anything to do with the motherboard, it has to do with the cards.

If you're running RX 480s, you'll need a dummy plug or monitor plugged in for them to be fully recognized. If you're running older cards, a dummy plug or monitor is not required.
45  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: New mining farm discussion on: April 21, 2017, 03:11:24 PM
That said I have no idea how they would track that.

That's just it ... they can't.

Here, we have no income tax but do have sales tax. Technically, anything bought and sold privately is supposed to be recorded and a percentage paid to the state as a use tax. Nobody actually does, there's no way to track it.

Do you have modded bios? If you do, you need to use driver 16.11.2 or older. I use 16.9.2 and it is stable and works great.

Use the AMD driver uninstall utility to clean out your drivers before reinstalling.

after the next release v2.8, i will start to work on linux.
I will post about alpha test, i provide little number of test users. 20-30 max.

I would be interested in testing the Linux builds Cheesy

Hi,

after flash bios on asus rx 470 and some other graphics, windows doesn't see card correctly.
http://screenshot.sh/ofmi3PZzX04Ed

there is a msg "No NVIDIA CUDA GPUs detected."

linux works fine with this bios.

any idea, how to fix this?

Thanks.

1) Which drivers are you running? Newer drivers have BIOS checks and will disable the card if the BIOS are modded
2) That's not an NVIDIA card

16.12 I guess.

Which driver should I download?

I use 16.9.2 with modded BIOS no problem - very stable. 16.12 does BIOS checks. Some people use 16.11.x I believe.

I have the same issue on of of my 4 card rigs and it appears to be related to Open Hardware Monitor not opening it's port and not writing the log file.

so can anyone more explain the problem ? i will fix asap if i can understand whats the problem

I had this happen to me on a couple rigs. I figured out that the config file for OHM had become reset to default. I fixed by copying from one of my rigs not having the problem.

Close your node, miner and OHM then in your node folder, open monitor\OpenHardwareMonitor.config file and replace its contents with this:

Code:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<configuration>
  <appSettings>
    <add key="mainForm.Location.X" value="605" />
    <add key="mainForm.Location.Y" value="185" />
    <add key="mainForm.Width" value="470" />
    <add key="mainForm.Height" value="640" />
    <add key="hiddenMenuItem" value="true" />
    <add key="startMinMenuItem" value="true" />
    <add key="loggingInterval" value="4" />
    <add key="runWebServerMenuItem" value="true" />
    <add key="plotMenuItem" value="false" />
    <add key="plotForm.Location.X" value="540" />
    <add key="plotForm.Location.Y" value="305" />
    <add key="plotForm.Width" value="600" />
    <add key="plotForm.Height" value="400" />
    <add key="plotPanel.MinTimeSpan" value="0" />
    <add key="plotPanel.MaxTimeSpan" value="600" />
    <add key="plotPanel.MinVoltage" value="NaN" />
    <add key="plotPanel.MaxVoltage" value="NaN" />
    <add key="plotPanel.MinClock" value="NaN" />
    <add key="plotPanel.MaxClock" value="NaN" />
    <add key="plotPanel.MinTemperature" value="NaN" />
    <add key="plotPanel.MaxTemperature" value="NaN" />
    <add key="plotPanel.MinLoad" value="NaN" />
    <add key="plotPanel.MaxLoad" value="NaN" />
    <add key="plotPanel.MinFan" value="NaN" />
    <add key="plotPanel.MaxFan" value="NaN" />
    <add key="plotPanel.MinFlow" value="NaN" />
    <add key="plotPanel.MaxFlow" value="NaN" />
    <add key="plotPanel.MinControl" value="NaN" />
    <add key="plotPanel.MaxControl" value="NaN" />
    <add key="plotPanel.MinLevel" value="NaN" />
    <add key="plotPanel.MaxLevel" value="NaN" />
    <add key="plotPanel.MinFactor" value="NaN" />
    <add key="plotPanel.MaxFactor" value="NaN" />
    <add key="plotPanel.MinPower" value="NaN" />
    <add key="plotPanel.MaxPower" value="NaN" />
    <add key="plotPanel.MinData" value="NaN" />
    <add key="plotPanel.MaxData" value="NaN" />
    <add key="plotPanel.MinSmallData" value="NaN" />
    <add key="plotPanel.MaxSmallData" value="NaN" />
    <add key="treeView.Columns.Sensor.Width" value="250" />
    <add key="treeView.Columns.Value.Width" value="100" />
    <add key="treeView.Columns.Min.Width" value="100" />
    <add key="treeView.Columns.Max.Width" value="100" />
    <add key="listenerPort" value="8085" />
    <add key="mainboardMenuItem" value="false" />
    <add key="cpuMenuItem" value="false" />
    <add key="ramMenuItem" value="false" />
    <add key="fanControllerMenuItem" value="false" />
    <add key="hddMenuItem" value="false" />
  </appSettings>
</configuration>

Then OHM should work and your node should be happy.

edit: Apparently I didn't see page 26 had been started on the thread and this is a little late. It still may help someone so I'll leave it.

Might want to change your title to match what you're actually selling - a 4U chassis.

I was curious what a 4U rack looked like when I clicked the link. I thought maybe it was a wall mount rack.

Is this something you guys would recommend for a starter, with no experience?

Anyone with some common sense can figure it out. It's super simple and we'll worth the time IMO.

Just noticed on the mobile app I am unable to tap on the 5th worker to get its stats. I can tap on the top 4 but the 5th does not give me the bubble with stats in it.

The total revenue at the bottom accounts for its stats though.

Awesome update!!! I have been waiting for 2 workers on 1 rig!

You're awesome @coinscrow!

Now if you can get it to work without having to use an extra worker name  Wink

Newegg's cheaper than your price (for the rx 480) by almost 40$ so you should probably lower your price. https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202275&cm_re=rx_480-_-14-202-275-_-Product

then, why you do not buy from there?

I suspect he will instead.

Why would someone pay a premium to purchase from you, when they could instead buy it from Newegg or Amazon and:

a) have the item delivered by the end of the week
b) know that they'll have top-notch support
c) be dealing with a trusted vendor who they know won't run off with their money
d) spend less money
e) be the original buyer of the product, so they know that the manufacturer's warranty is valid (some products don't offer transferable warranties)

?

If you really want to sell these products, then I'd suggest re-considering your prices so that they're 10% to 15% lower than what people would pay for the item brand new from Amazon or Newegg.

the items listed above, actually is BNOB (Brand New Out Box)
I just took a photo

You completely ignored what he was saying  Roll Eyes

Bottom line, nobody is going to pay these prices for used (if the box is open, it fetches a used price) hardware.
57  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Which AMD GPU to mine ETH or ZEC on: April 06, 2017, 10:11:19 PM
I would do both. Keep this rig running and buy 8GB RX 480s to mine ETH.

I use the TB85 (https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813138436) with 6 cards and it works great. I have not tried the TB250-BTC (https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813138449) yet but it looks like it would be a good board as well. Both are sold out currently though.
60  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Among several ways to flash custom bios, which one you use? on: April 01, 2017, 05:35:03 PM
You can get the older drivers from AMD's site but it depends on your OS. Here is for Windows 10 x64: http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop/previous?os=Windows%2010%20-%2064

Newer drivers do checks and the card won't be enabled with modified BIOS.
