APY means per year - it's in the name. You get 1% per year!

The 7 days just means the rate on a moving average (averaged over 7 days), because the rate can change on a day to day basis.

Binance does not give you 0.98% per 7 days. It’s 0.98% APY - averaged over 7 days since it can change day to day.

Otherwise it would be insane returns.

Keep in mind, that you will be locking up your Eth for a couple of years, if you decide to stake at this point.

Of course it has a video output. It is a gaming GPU. The 6800XT will probably the most interesting from a cost/benefit perspective.

Why windows, when I had my rigs on widows it was a pain.  SMOS is much washier for me to manage.

I like smos.  but it does have limits.

I have six cpu rigs for mining xmr.  smos does not allow that.

So I am always going to have some windows.

@ mmaenpaa

I will look into your link.

Why not use HiveOS? I am using it for my GPU rigs, but I know it also allows CPU mining. Honestly, after switching to a Linux based mining OS, I have had a lot less problems than with Windows before.

The new release of big Navi will be very interesting.

Does anybody know of a board that will support the new Ryzen CPUs and has enough slots for at least 6 GPUs? Would be a nice thing to build a rig that can mine Monero on CPU and other coins on GPU very efficiently.

I am still using my Polaris rigs (unfortunately 60% 8GB cards) and will mine till it is not feasible anymore. I got most 4GB cards for like $50 in bulk when mining was super unprofitable for most - so even if I can sell them for the same price or slightly less at the end of the year - they were basically free.
I  have free electricity but will loose that some time early next year - so then I will have to get rid of all inefficient cards anyway. I hope for a run in crypto in the next couple of months and then selling even 4GB cards will be easier (hopefully), since miners will buy out all other cards and gamers, that a re looking for a cheap gaming card, will be willing to buy a 4GB Polaris.
47  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Seems 4gb cards have stopped working on Ethereum mining on: October 15, 2020, 09:25:30 PM
So what is the exact week/day, when 4GB cards will not be able to mine anymore?
48  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Number 9! Ninth altcoin thread. Back to the moon Baby! on: September 18, 2020, 06:47:27 PM
How easy is it to sell in the marketplace here?
I have about 30 Polaris 4GB cards that I need to sell and am looking at my best options. Will probably have to give up mining starting next year anyway, since I will be moving and not have basically free power anymore.

If they were 8gb they would sell pretty easy. 4gb will be hard to sell.

I have escrowed a lot for many people. If you use an escrow and have a decent product at a decent price it sells.

So
1) you have to undercut ebay prices
2) use an escrow until you are established.
3) have a good product people want

1 and 2 you can do

3 maybe not as 4gb are not going to be wanted.

Now I am unaware of how to use your 4gb  cards to mine once eth stops using them In nov. Maybe there is a use for them .

Yeah, maybe I should just sell them on EBay. Got the super cheap (less than 50 bucks) and have multiply ROId. Might be able to get 50 bucks back for them.

50  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: I have a bunch of 580's and 570's on: September 16, 2020, 05:54:50 PM
I am interested in buying 8GB cards, if you have any.

I am interested in the rx 470s. Which brand are these and how old? Where are you located?
52  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain Antminer Z15 Announcement on: May 11, 2020, 06:23:39 PM
I noticed they were listed on the English site yesterday. One without PSU and one with. Both were showing July ship date and already sold out so I don't know if they were ever listed for sale on the English site with July ship date. One of them still had text in Chinese. This morning only Z15 with PSU was for sale with August ship date. That just sold out.

Nice catch, I didn't even notice them being posted on English website. Would've bought them instantly...

Problem is, here in the US they are still the tariffs...
53  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v15.0 (Windows/Linux) on: April 21, 2020, 02:16:12 PM
I am not sure if Claymore reads this, but are you working on enabling somehow offloading the Dag after it reaches 4GB? Maybe using a rig with some 8GB cards and some 4GB cards and averaging the Dag between the cards. Would make your miner even more popular.
54  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: AMD 570 Rigg - too hot on: June 24, 2019, 04:14:33 PM
Hello guys,

im having trouble with my mining rigg. One card is always getting too hot. The Fans are working fine.
Do you maybe have an idea how i can get it colder? Maybe with undervolting it higher? Please i really need help. ( im using hive OS)

Thanks in advance.

How old are the cards and can you share a picture of the rig? Old thermal paste or rig spacing too tight are the only two explanations.
55  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: I Bought 150+ GPUs for Ethereum mining. Think I'm Insane? on: June 20, 2019, 05:05:22 PM
I actually did the same thing a few weeks ago. Still had all the components for two rigs here - only thing missing were the GPUs. Now I bought 16 more RX470 for around $50-$55 each. But I have free electricity (included in rent), so I am pretty sure I will ROI within a few months.
56  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Antminer Z9 mini overclocked on: September 12, 2018, 10:30:13 PM
I've played with mine and they seem safe at 650
I tried different settings and i'm not happy with the quality of the miner since its gen2 shippment and not stable like the others at 750. I think the software is junk and also bitmain took the GEN1 firmware off the website, Anyone have a clean version firmware of GEN 1? I'd love to reflash mine. Have been running 600 to 618 and getting all kinds of diffrent speeds. Now I just leave it at 650.. Get these to make some  oney back on these hard time mining

People have tried reflashing with batch 1 firmware. No improvement on hash speed, so it's not a firmware but a hardware limitation.
57  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Z9 Mini Dual Fan on: September 07, 2018, 04:54:35 PM
I just printed a mounting adapter for the mini. Will try out a few things.

The nice thing is, I actually embedded the nuts so mounting/unmounting is very easy.

58  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Antminer Z9 mini overclocked on: September 05, 2018, 05:28:38 PM
Those batch1 or something else?

It is possible to overclock any batch.

Do tell. What hardware modifications made?
I've no problem pulling these outta the factory chassis and modding...

yes I know, my question was about the hardware change and not how to set 900 on frequency.

On the right is the original hash panel. Left - changed.

The bottom line is that the chips should get extra power.
Detailed step-by-step instructions from me will not be, as long as I make money on these changes. Excuse me. My message was for those professionals who work with electronics. These people know that this is possible and how.

Is all that is needed to achieve this is add the 4 components? (For which there are already pads)?
59  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Antminer Z9 mini overclocked on: September 01, 2018, 10:37:50 AM
I summarized the steps for overclocked a locked batch 2 Mini:
Use Google Chrome. Log into your Antminer and go to the tab where you would change the frequency (now you only see 'balanced' there). Press F12 which opens the console to see the website code. Press Ctrl+f to search this for ant_freq. You will see that the balanced profile is equal to a clock frequency of 500Mhz. Here you can edit the number (in the code) to whatever you like (675 seems to be a safe bet) and then make sure you select the balanced profile in the antminer gui and click save/apply. You got yourself an overclocked batch 2 Z9 Mini.

Mine took 3 and 4 days (I mean this batch). It is not time, I am unhappy about but extremely not up to date tracking. I got them both today and already overclocked to 675 MHz (I did not want to go higher in this batch). They came with "Balanced" option only.

Can you tell us how to overclocked this 2 batch ? can not find frequency settings Huh
