41  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: ✰ [ANN] FoxMixer ✰ High Quality Bitcoin Mixer ✰ 1/2 Year Online ✰ on: November 10, 2017, 06:17:58 PM
A big thanks to all our users, also for the suggestions we get via email. We try our best to get them all covered.
Some of the API code was improved and rewritten, such that the requests are processed without delay.

We've also noticed a rapid increase in the number of mixes during the past month. That's why we added some further server infrastructure, to keep the mixing as fast as possible.

Have a good mix Cool

is it true we need to keep the btc off coinbase to get any forked coins?

Well, coinbase owns the private keys and won't reveal them to you. So, it's basically their decision if they allow you to spend any kind of forked coins.
If you are worried about future forks and want to be able to spend your coins on any branch, then make sure to own the private keys to the addresses where your coins are deposited.
You can use Bitcoin Core for this, as an example.

where do they go ( like bth, where is its address, we never got one)?

Either coinbase doesn't care and leaves them wherever they are, or they use them on their own.

then how do we move it back to coinbase to put cash in bank acct?

Simply by sending it out of your wallet to a coinbase-owned address. Depends on the wallet that you use.

Bought a coin 4 years ago.

have address and identifier recorded.
we can move it from coinbase to the wallet, but we DONT KNOW where the wallet is housed or located.

-are we online / offline?
-do we need to be off coinbase when btg drops on the 12th?
- how do we transfer from wallet to coinbase?
-should we just get a wallet on blockchain and put it there.
-how do i access the bth everyone got in september and move it around? if we were on coinbase, did we get that free bth?

sorry for the noobish questions, but i am a n00b

What do you mean by "the wallet"? There are dozens of wallets out there. Do you already use a specific wallet?
If you want to control your funds and want to know that your funds are located at your own computer, which is what I read from your question, you could use Bitcoin Core as a wallet.

Just generate an address there and send your funds from coinbase to this address. Then, you are in perfect control of your funds.
44  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Is it safe to share my wallet address to some BTC site? on: November 10, 2017, 05:24:13 PM
I would like to know if it is safe to put my wallet address in websites asking for it.
I am really excited to start my own Bitcoin journey.

As long as you don't give away any private keys, yes.
Just be aware that they can then see all transactions going from and to this address.

It's best to generate a new address for every service you use and transaction you do.

But let me just ask you: why do the websites want it? Do you get payed something out?
45  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Error: A fatal internal error occured, see dubug.log for details [UPDATED] on: October 10, 2017, 10:16:07 PM
I'm running -rescan and -reindex right now. It's sitting at about 17% with an "Unknown" number of blocks left. Syncing headers.

Wait a bit. It might take some while.

Okay, thanks for your help Smiley

Sure.
Just a tip for your privacy: Create a different receive address for each received payment. In your image "Goingbig" was just used multiple times for receiving funds.
48  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: One Payment "lost"...heeeelp on: October 10, 2017, 10:04:02 PM
Perfect, that worked...i try some transaction accelerators, perhaps it helps either to complete or dismiss my payment Smiley

Your fee is 40 sat/byte, which is too low for most accelerators.
There will be times when there are fewer transactions pending, then your tx will get confirmed. Many mining pools also prioritize older transactions, so be patient...

The problem is, that I can't use my wallet at all right now.... that's kind of terribad Sad
Every transaction I do, even after I got some new money in, won't leave the wallet...
Is it because he eventually transfers some of it from the "ghost" btc?

Probably yes. What you can do is Settings->Wallet->Enable Coin Control, restart core, then you can specify exactly which coins should be used when doing a transaction. Just tick the addresses at which your new money arrived.
50  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: One Payment "lost"...heeeelp on: October 10, 2017, 08:56:20 PM
And you can check your transaction at the link above, as soon as it doesn't exist anymore, it's time for a resend.

But I guess that it will eventually get accepted, without resending it.
51  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: One Payment "lost"...heeeelp on: October 10, 2017, 08:53:42 PM
Yeah I see... so should I also cancel the last try to send it to the wallet as it won't get confirmed either?
I thought if I cancel it, I can resend it immediately :/

You don't need to cancel your last try because it wasn't even accepted by the network at all.
Just remove it out of Bitcoin Core with zapwallettx or similar.
No, you can't 'cancel' transactions once they are broadcasted, the only thing that works is waiting until they're removed from the mempools of the majority of nodes in the network.

Just look here, your old transaction is still pending:

//Edit: Does Bitcoin Core Wallet have this RBF Feature? Didn't see a checkbox Smiley

Yes, but it has to be activated via commandline (don't know if it is default on already, in 0.14 it was default off...)
54  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: One Payment "lost"...heeeelp on: October 10, 2017, 08:30:29 PM
But I tried to transfer it again and it's not showing in Blockchain.
And it's still under incoming transfer at the online wallet.

Should I cancel this again and perhaps "-zapwallettxes" option to fully clear all unconfirmed transactions?

Yeah, because your old transaction is still pending and not removed from the mempool.
A few days later it should be possible.
55  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: One Payment "lost"...heeeelp on: October 10, 2017, 08:26:26 PM
It's all right, you did NOT lose anything.

Your transaction is still in the mempool. Other peers of the network still know about your previous transaction.
So, either it confirms within the next few days and thereby it arrives at your destination address, or it gets 'forgotten' from the mempool.

Wait a few days and rebroadcast it again if it does not appear at the destination.

You could also enable the "Replace By Fee" option next time, to be able to rebroadcast it directly.
56  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How much do people fear key loggers? on: October 10, 2017, 08:23:14 PM
Im gonna buy a ledger but i still want to.spread the risk among some other wallets. Problem is most now apart frrom core uses a 12 word passphrase. Problem is John Mcafee says millions of phones and computers have keyloggers so they can take photo.and send your passphrase quite easily.

Is this a serious risk?

How to use a wallet that solves this?

Actually, if your computer is infected, there is not much a wallet itself can do to solve it. The malware could hide on the system driver level, so the application in user space has no chance to detect it. If there are wallets that claim to be able to cope with it, it sounds suspicious to me.
The risk itself is quite serious, as there are many versions of malware around that are crypted by non widely known algorithms and by that they bypass a lot of AV scanners.
Problem is that a lot of this malware has special functionality to detect if a cryptocurrency wallet is installed and it filters the data to only capture this part.

In general, linux operating systems are not targeted that often. For high-volume transfer handling, I generally recommend using a dedicated machine that is set up from scratch, where only required software gets installed. Then, you can setup a firewall to only allow a specific process to communicate out of your machine. This should give you maximum security.

Better safe than sorry...
57  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin core problem install on: October 10, 2017, 08:10:41 PM
Where did you download your version? Was it a precompiled binary or did you compile it from sources?
If it's not an official build, there might be errors in the specified .h file.
58  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: unconfirmed Transaction on: October 08, 2017, 12:58:37 PM
is this only way to accelerated  Transaction or there are more services ??

There may be more services, but many of them require high payments without a solid guarantee for acceleration.
As the miners do not get a lot of revenue from your transaction (as its fee is probably very low), they charge you extra for it.
59  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: cannot receive any coin in my B3coin wallet on: October 03, 2017, 05:29:30 PM
Actually I just got the reply from the exchange support, it seems they just start processing it, but I was told the wallet has to be synced.
since I restart my wallet last night, it is still out of sync.
my questions:
1. why it takes such a long time to sync? Is it normal to complete sync in 48 hour or more?
2. what happens if my wallet out of sync, can the coin still be delivered to the un-synced wallet? can the b3coin wait for the wallet synced without timed out?

Thanks again

Yes, it is normal that sync with the blockchain takes some time. The core downloads the blockchain and checks it, this takes time.
Your funds will arrive, you even if your wallet is out of sync. It will appear as soon as the sync is completed

You can check the tx on blockchain.info by entering the tx id.

Next time, use a somewhat higher fee and it will go through quicker...
