Due to the issues we had with v4.0.0 we've (mainly the other dev  ) been helping Jared test out the newer version 4.0.2 and 4.0.3 and as such have not been able to fully sync with the blockchain yet. We are ready to go, i.e. we've completely finished on our side its just a matter now of how long it takes our database to sync up with the current height of the blockchain. I am sorry but (as is now obvious) we have not been able to meet the Sunday evening deadline. There shouldn't be any problems from here on out and our db is roughly at 30% height atm so it should take 24-72h (if no hiccups arise) for us to have it back online. I can assure you and the rest of the community that as soon as its live it will be announced on all the available channels. P.S. with respect to new features this is mainly the node map (long waited community request) and a small bonus feature we've added (its not a big deal we're just excited that we're expanding the uses of our platform). |

We at DigiStats are also running v4.0.3 wallet and everything is looking great on our side. We're currently syncing our explorer with the blockchain (this takes some time) but we will be going live once we've synced up and retested the platform.
On the topic of FUD, please note that any daily fluctuations in the BTC value of DGB are irrelevant to a long-term investor and contributor to the DigiByte community as such no major players within the community have jumped ship or anything of the sort meaning that there is still a strong base of core community holders and supporters. I would also like to point out that in the recent surge in the BTC price the BTC/DGB exchange rate has more or less kept its value (just about 40 sat) thereby increasing the USD value of DGB. Crypto trading is not just about one number guys.
As Jared has also pointed out a hardfork is not an easy thing to achieve. Taking this into account the momentary blip with respect to what has happened in the last few days is nothing more than that, a momentary blip. I expect v4.0.3 will resolve any issues people are having and we can start commenting and marveling over the increased transaction speed the hardfork has provided the DigiByte blockchain!

Just in case you have missed this Bittrex price is lower thatn Cryptsy, someone is buying on Bittrex & selling on Cryptsy....the sells on Cryptsy are identical to Bittrex until the price on Bittrex comes back to the same level as Cryptsy DGB will get dumped on until it hits 1 sat
This is called arbitrage and will continue as long as it is possible. It isn’t dumping, it is someone taking advantage of a situation because they can and isn’t any threat to DigiByte. I know what it is & you may think its isnt a threat to DGB but it can be, if said trader continues to swap between each exchange there is nothing stopping said trader from driving the price down to zero...the advantage to us is cheap DGB but to others it may signal the alarm bells to dump to get what profit they do still have I disagree, the rationale behind arbitrage trading is that you equalize the market across exchanges according to market forces. By which I mean that if the price goes up on exchange x (due to natural market forces) the arbitrage trader will seem as if he's pumping the price on another exchange (exchange y) and dumping on exchange x. This is true but one also has to take into account the volume at which this is profitable for said arbitrage trader, and because this is a very natural thing to do there is basically no opportunities for someone to do this (this is a almost theoretical fact from forex markets and basic economics, this signals market efficiency i.e. there aren't 4 different dgb prices there is one well determined price across all 4). Basically the market is what determines what the arbitrage trader does not the other way around. |

The first time I heard about Digibyte was in an article in a Dutch newspaper NRC.next. Since I always had a looming interest in crypto-currencies, I decided to start reading more about Digibyte and other crypto-currencies. The thing which really triggered my interested in Digibyte specifically, was the 'real-life' application using the Tofugear omni-platform. In order for Digibyte (and other crypto-currencies) to succeed and be accepted by the mainstream public it needs to be better in two criteria than current fiats: 1. speed and 2. ease of use.
Last Friday I visited the store of the House of Blue Jeans of 24hralttrade to experience 'shopping in the future' made possible by the Tofugear platform and the House of Blue Jeans. 24hralttrade showed me the possibilities and I was quite impressed. Especially the realtime analytics behind the platform is something which is very interesting for retailers themselves (stock/supply wise, but also the feedback of why certain products are taken out of the shelf often, but do not get bought). When I had to pay with Digibyte, it worked just as fast as when I would have paid by debit card. Therefore Digibyte already fulfills the first criterion (although it will have to meet this criterion when volume increases when more people start to use it - it should match at least the speed of other fiats when it's scaled). Even though Digibyte is only a (small) part of the Tofugear platform, the real life experience in the House of Blue Jeans convinced me even more of why Digibyte is a very interesting crypto-currency.
Coming to the second criterion; the ease of use. In the shop it was actually easy to pay with Digibyte, if you had everything set up (Digibyte Wallet on your phone). The most difficult part was actually when I decided I wanted to buy some Digibytes. Being new to crypto-currencies in general, I had to figure out everything about crypto-currencies. Even though the Digibyte website helped me somewhat with their explanation on the website on how to get Digibytes, I think there is room for improvement. Couple of suggestions:
1. Add an option for a real web-wallet (just like coinbase), where I only have to setup an account instead of installing stuff. I have a bank account online, why no Digibyte account?
2. When I wanted to buy Digibytes, I first had to find an exchange where I could buy Digibytes. That means I had to make an additional account on that exchange (= extra effort = less ease of use). In addition, I first had to buy bitcoin, since I can only buy Digibyte with bitcoin on most exchanges (at least the ones I check out). I don't want bitcoin, I want Digibyte for my euros! :-)
Since I am quite interested in cryptocurrencies, it was a nice learning experience. However, the mainstream public is lazy and does not want to go through this many steps. I am already having a hard time convincing friends of mine to buy Digibyte, because they don't understand cryptocurrencies in general, and setting up a Digibyte wallet and buy Digibytes at a different place (exchange-website) is already too much trouble. Therefore I would suggest (and I know it is not easy) to have one online Digibyte webwallet where you can buy in the same environment Digibyte for your Euros/Dollars/etc. This would greatly contribute to the 'ease-of-use' of Digibyte which is essential in order to get accepted by the mainstream public.
Furthermore, I think the Digibyte team is delivering excellent work, especially with the Digibyte Market (another 'bridge' to real life - being able to buy real products with Digibyte) and focusing on the gaming audience; a huge potential and an audience which is a bit tech-savy than the mainstream public. Excellent move in my opinion.

headsup to Jared, the DigiByte Team and 24hralttrade.excellent customer feedback. this is very valuable. exactly what i love to hear. very well said with pinpoint accuracy. fully agree, especially those in bold above. Speed will definitely get tons better soon with DigiSpeed. And even better as time goes by. Because Jared and the DigiByte Team got all that factor in and covered. As for the ease of use part, it is something that every altcoin faces. the tricky part is bridging both the bank account and altcoin wallet/exchange together so that one can easily transfer fiat and buy said altcoin. Only Bitcoin has managed to overcome this hurdle so far. I do not know what lengths the altcoin has to go to build that bridge, likewise for DigiByte. It may be a lot of work down the road, just as much as what Bitcoin had to go through. the quickest way would probably be this - Coinbase accepts DigiByte to be traded on their exchange and viola, everything else is already done. i mean...hey...if Litecoin and Ethereum can do it, so can any other altcoin. it just needs to prove that it is damn good to be on the same level as Bitcoin. UNLESS...is Jared and the DigiByte Team going to surprise us with something??? those who have been following DigiByte for a long time (more than a year), yea...you know what i am referring to  . it hasn't been mentioned for MANY months now until WaZZapi brought it up. Because it was the DigiSpeed craze for several months and then plus other awesome updates and additions along the way. those who still remember, good for ya. but just in case it is suppose to be a discreet thing or it has been shelved or it has change to something better, i don't want to mention it just yet. i shall leave it to Jared and the DigiByte Team to do the announcements. now that will really be something! But anyway, any other ideas digibyters? We have one surprise that will be announced soon |

For all the information about the network and market data you can have a look at www.Digistats.info, We are now at ~2179 dgb The rich list is wrong, there is address with close to 105 million on bittrex which doesn't show up on rich list. it is because you can not see the address dgb bittrex in rich list Yes that's right plus I highly doubt Bittrex has all that on one address, remember its an exchange and the 105m DGB refers to a specific account, not a specific address. There might be some minor errors in the block explorer but that's definitely not an error. I appreciate the feedback though! |

For anyone not aware Cryptsy is having problems with their DGB wallet due to input spam. I have been waiting for a few withdrawals myself and thats the reason its taking so long.

To give a bit more of a boost to the recent good news I've decided to put DigiStats back online ableit in a slightly reduced version (Im planning on taking out everything thats being buggy). This should in turn partly provide the services we intended to offer when the project begun. Once thats done (will happen very soon). I will try to implement some old and new changes to the platform. I will also be asking dedicated community members to provide feedback etc. to try to better the platform.
I will announce when we're back online.

If you guys added a feature where people can just change their passwords by verifying their email would make it a lot less stressful for people and banks have that feature why not these wallets..
I don't know where you bank bro but banks do not make it that easy to access an account (thank god; that would be extremely insecure). Your expected to know how to manage your funds. Crypto brings the responsibility to hold funds back to the user and not an institution, don't hate, instead buy more DGB! (and this time store it properly, on your hdd with multiple backups in different places). |

Guys first of all I've supported this coin plenty by developing some of the third party platforms based on this coin. Secondly this isn't a for profit project; on the contrary I want to use any profits (if any are actually even made) to be used to support DigiByte further.
I didn't think this would get this amount of negative feedback (I have gotten plenty of positive feedback as well) but I will tone it down if necessary.
P.S. I'm one of those "students" your talking about and the only reason I invest in anything is because of its fundamentals not its technicals; the only reason I'm here and have been for a while is because I think the community is solid.
