Even with a Ł1b budget, if you're awful at EPL, there's no chance you'll win the EPL challenge because both revolve around picking the right players. Give a bad manager a Ł1b budget, and he'll put together an average squad.
And I guess your second chance league revolves around picking bad players? I mean what kind of point is that? Grin Should I just stop playing PL on Superbru pool since I know I will never win it? It is fun to compete with the best and see just how far I can stretch in that particular season.

That being said FPL challenge will be much more luck oriented and easier for casual players to get results. Fact that you can pick another team every week is enough to remove all planning element from the game and nullify my biggest FPL advantage, planning forward and allowing for blank/doubles and fixture swings weeks before they happen.

I have 3 minutes weekly for Fantasy, if the whole league is set up like this I'm out.
I'll still send the 1mBTC as promised, but no way I'm doing this shit.
Wasn't home so did not try tinkering with the squad but as I said later I think you can just change players that did not play. Meaning you have small advantage if you are picking players you are not sure that they are gonna start. For instance you know Liverpool will do well, you can wait for line ups and then exchange your Diaz pick to Jota pick if you see you missed who will be in first 11.

Man, it hurts doesn't it? To see a 7-goal thriller, and get nothing out of it, particularly when Bowen and Isak were part of my usual picks for MajSev. Madness on the others, if anyone picked Mateta and Tahith Chong (is that now 6 prem league goals already?!) they deserve a medal. Can't be helped, if you can't choose both, of course, but now I'm starting to doubt my other picks. Just have to let it ride, and see Sunday through.

Salah's the only true shoo-in, but dare I jinx him?
It started perfectly for me with Isak, Wood and Solanke delivering. At that moment I hoped I will be in the run for 10k price but than happened Watkins blank/injury and later Hojlund even put a stop to hope for nice free bet.

I will take any points Salah and Haaland get since each one counts towards that 100 and 1k.

Chelsea losing a lead twice to a 10 man team exposes the holes in the rebuilding project. Lots more work needs to be done.
Not to mention they had a man advantage for full hour and still couldn't win against relegation team at home.

To be fair they created a lot of chances and if they had a proper striker Burnley would have gone home with 5 goals in the net. Don't know why they didn't bought some proven player like Toney instead of all those youngsters who look afraid when they need to shoot on goal.

Palmer with another great performance, that kid is going far. Not easy carrying whole Chelsea on his back.

I like Trofo's idea of adding "weight" based on odds. More incentive for players to take risk, means more exciting outcomes. Have a feeling it will mean even heavier defeats for me though heh.
Don't get your hopes up just yet, stuff like that is notoriously difficult to implement and get it right. And when we start talking odds than you actually have sportsbook and we are not trying to replace that, we are trying to offer something unique.

We are talking about new things all the times and looking what we can bring to the table that hasn't been seen yet. Should be something special up for EURO at least if don't add something new to BSFL before than Cool

Unlimited budget is this week challenge if I got that right. And seems you can make transfers manually while GW is going, something like UCL fantasy. Sent links to Harkorede and cryptofrka, it seems it will just be the three of us Smiley
Seems like this is only partially correct, you can use transfers up until deadline but you can't manually switch players that already played. Ah well, who knows. We will find out soon enough.

Yeah, I don't mind if it is just 3 of us, I'm quite sure this would be continued next by FPL so we might see some diversion in terms of pool preference, so I'll take this a learning opportunity, and the lesser the amount of people the higher my chances, so I'll take that too  Tongue Tongue
SAme here, this is nice way to get used to it before next season. Who knows how popular it will get. So far I think it will be a flop but let's see.

Final wildcard team entered, i am ready for the GW. Only problem I couldn't squeeze in both Van Dijk and Ait Nouri in my defense so I dropped Wolves man. Gonna bite me for sure.

Do I want to go safe and follow? Or trust my instinct and possibly win that difficult question, while playing safe on Alcaraz which I know also 100% you'll pick Smiley
It is a fine line to thread. You have to go against the odds but usually it is not worth going too much against the odds if you know what I mean Smiley Taking odds of @3 rather @2 on a hunch is probably fine but going @6.5 instead of @1.1 like in Alcaraz case is a bit overdoing it. It is different when betting since it gets you much more if you win but in competitions like this you are bound to loose long time.

Maybe we will try to put some questions in the future that take odds into consideration. For instance H2H question, we give few teams and if you go for favorite it gives you 1 point and if you go for underdog it gives you 2 points.
408  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BC.Game 🦁 Fantasy Premier League Pool ⚽ Discussion Thread on: March 30, 2024, 07:18:45 AM
The EpL challenge is more of a second chance to teams rock at the middle and bottom to try and win something. It's a big distraction for any team at the top.
The difference is that you are picking team for just one week. This week I spent a lot of time on my main FPL squad and I picked challenge team in few minutes. You just look at single GW fixtures and choose people that you think will do well.

Unlimited budget is this week challenge if I got that right. And seems you can make transfers manually while GW is going, something like UCL fantasy. Sent links to Harkorede and cryptofrka, it seems it will just be the three of us Smiley

I am reading the discussion and I have to say that I have never thought about how my opponent will answer a question. I always go with how I feel the outcome of a game will be. Maybe it's because I'm not following sport that closely so I'm always going with a safe option. But I don't understand why would I risk a point by answering differently than what I think my opponent will answer. Surprises are always possible in sport but I never expect a surprise simply because they are rarer than expected outcome.
It is not just that, it is the odds. Let's go back to Alcaraz example, he was 1.10 to win against Dimitrov. Even though I believed Dimitrov is winning that I will never play that high odds in competition like this. You are playing against the bookie and whole field and even if you win you don't get the payout that should go with odds like that.

Simply not worth it. I rather picked Alcaraz here and played it safe in BSFL then backed Dimitrov to cover 4.5 handicap on ticket.

One more point about that FPL challenge, seems like unlimited budget is actually a challenge this week and other weeks it will be something else.

Not really sure what is challenging about it though  Grin

Yes the penalties are significant! It's obviously losing the chance to win 3 points and then getting -1, which is a spread of potential 4 points. You finished the season with 24 points including -1 and I finished the season with 23 points including -1. If I submitted (which was quite impossible for me that round), a win would have given me the 3rd rank. 8th and 3rd is a massive difference in the payout. But ok, it is still possible to play an ok season with one failed submission although I do think that there can be circumstances in life where someone just can't send it out. But we still need a fixed set of rules that apply to everyone equally. It's the only way forward.
We already mentioned once that there is a possibility to postpone game upfront if you know you are absolutely unable to submit. For instance you are going on surgery or something we can help you out but not if you are going on holiday and feel lazy to fill it out on mobile. It will never get into rules officially since people could abuse it but you guys can always contact us on individual basis.

Let's see how it goes, if I don't pay I probably won't test it properly. At first glance it doesn't sound that much fun at all, and finding differentiators will be really hard.
I agree with all points except for differentiators. It is actually super easy to field different teams, if you think Spurs will destroy Luton you take 5 Spurs players, if you think Liverpool will do good you take 5 Liverpool players. Yes, everyone will have Salah, Haaland and Son but after that this format allows you to pursue true differentials. It is a punt for one week only and budget is unlimited.

I am leaning towards paid league as well. But we need at least 5 players to make it work.

Bump. A new Fantasy game is available on official site, it is called Challenge. Nobody played it ever before and I did not spend a lot of time reading the rules but here are some:
unlimited budget
up to 5 players from one team
every GW new team

So this is much more casual and probably nowhere near as addictive as the main thing. Not connected to your main account, you are creating a new team for this one.

Anyway, I have created a league for us. We can keep it just for fun and I post the code here or we can make it 1 mBTC buy-in and see how will we do. Let me know your opinions and do it fast Smiley

So... Machač never stood a chance against Sinner. He lost straight 2-0 and with that result I guess I have to admit another defeat by one point. That freaking fourth round in a row that I lost by one point. I can't believe... And it's only after two days.
This was easier than expected, lost my bet but at least 3 points are here. It does get a bit stupid when we have almost all the answers same.

I even answered wales-poland question wrongly just because I was afraid to loose point. I knew you will go for Wales due to the odds but I had a feeling Poland is gonna get that. It was a true 50/50 game so I decided to go safe way. Same way with Alcaraz, I am actually thinking he will loose to Dinitrov but it just isn't worth it to risk and go for that answer when I know everyone will have Alcaraz to pass.

Thread died a bit during international break as expected but now we are back and games will come fast. Decided to play my wildcard in international break to give myself plenty of time to tinker with the squad.

As always after wildcard expectations are big and then reality kicks us in the balls  Grin so looking forward to GW30.

Yeah, I agree with Trofo, it's so competitive you might as well as consider yourself relegated if you forget 2 submissions. Once almost implies a midtable finish at best. Just be safe, rather than sorry. Submit early. It's really the only way to not play with fire.
And even if some question can get you ahead if you wait it is always just one question. 1 point out of 10 doesn't mean much while loosing 3:0 and getting -1 penalty point really sets you back. Not to mention you loose part of the rewards as well. Still have a feeling there are people that did not catch on that part of the penalty.

Will be some pissed people when season ends Smiley
418  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany ⚽ - Qualifiers on: March 27, 2024, 06:38:41 PM
Hehehehe,  for me I don't think Lewandowski is really the one we should be concerned about in that team, he's just a diversion from the big guns there and I took the liberty of checking their group D and it's honestly going to be a miracle if they survive group stages because in a group where France, Austria  and Netherlands, you need more than just a decorated player like Lewandowski to help your team.
Yeah but this Euro will have 4/6 3rd ranked team progressing as well. So I am expecting 3 points will be more than enough to get out of the group and we may see even some teams going trough with less than that.

We could also see some top teams calculating a bit in group stages since it is almost impossible for them to drop out.

@41 odds on Croatia sounds nice. time to go all the way once Smiley
419  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⭐ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk Sports Fanatics League (BSFL) – 10000$ rewards ⭐⚽⭐ on: March 27, 2024, 06:32:10 PM
You needed to add candle image for fallen Division 1 member in this article Cry
Use this articles to warn people about late submissions, we still have them every single round Sad
I don't think we can do anything more about late submissions. Penalties are strict, evil fee is introduced, deadline is always the same from the day 1....
At this point I believe it is up to you guys to stay focused. Those that aren't will quickly loose on the rewards and will find themselves in relegation battles if not expelled. Leagues are close and every late submission if 4 points lost and -3 goal difference. I am thinking if you are exceptional player you can get away with one, two almost impossibly and 3 is out for sure.

In every article there is something about late submissions. Usually just a reminder for people to submit but also a mention when someone forgets from top leagues. But remember I am writing my article before the deadline and it is usually out Tuesday morning so I don't know who will not submit at that time.

New article is up guys, give it a read if you are up to it.
https://sportsbet.io/sports/soccer/news/bitcoin-sports-fanatics-league-round-3-recap

Yeah, I have a bad experience with Sinner. Whatever outcome of his games I choose, it turns out to be wrong. So, there's no need for me to research on his play because I will always get it wrong. But your statement that his opponent is in a great form gives me a little hope that I can make it a draw between us.
Form or not, 1.10 on Sinner is there for a reason but I don't expect it to be that one sided. Have a bet on Machac to cover 5.5 handicap. So simple 7:6 6:4 for Sinner would be just perfect.
