401  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Coins with price lower price has more chances to moon? on: February 12, 2018, 07:44:38 PM
Marketcap is the most important factor when determining if a coin can go 10 to 100x. Not because the coin necessarily is a good store of value, but because the current market has shown what level of market cap it is willing to tolerate. We are still in the wild west days of the cryptocoin market. There is unfortunately less importance put on future promise than immediate returns. Just look at the number of coins that are fake at face value (looking at you picklericks) and tell me that low marketcap is not the primary means of determining "moons".

tl:dr - Low marketcap is directly linked to the probability of huge gains, but hopefully that won't always be the case.

While there are a few exceptions, you have to start with a good coin.  There many junk or so called shitcoins investors shouldn't touch even at a super "bargain".

Taking your generalized advise may lead so really major loses.
402  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Coins with price lower price has more chances to moon? on: February 12, 2018, 05:39:48 PM
I always thought that initial coin price is not important, because there is no difference between buying 1000 coins at $0.001 or 0.001 coin at $1000. Buy most of my friends who are newbie in crypto prefer buying low cost coins ("BTC is already $15000 but Rillple is still cheap").
Maybe that means that new people coming to crypto would prefer new altcoins (especially altcoins with lower price and more total supply) rather then BTC, ETH and other > 1000$ coins?
Also with cheaper coins it's simply easier to calculate whey purchasing something with crypto. I'm sure everyone is using calculators while trading on BTC/* pairs))

If the cheap coin is NEW but a good one, then this is very true.  Bigger growth is more likely.

Percentage return is what you look for BUT psychology plays a lot here too.  It is in fact easier to buy 10,000 coins at $0.10 each than 0.115 BTC for the same $1,000 you have.

The trick is finding that new/cheap good coin.
403  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What's your revised predictions for Icon ICX after S.Korea FUD? on: February 12, 2018, 05:15:24 PM
It's still the best long-term Korean coin on the market. So glad I got into it at 4100 sats and sold at around 8000. Looking for another entry point when the time comes for a dip.

If you want a long-term, steady rising coin, this is the coin for you

You sold too soon/low.  Not sure if the dip you are waiting for will ever come.

Most of my ICX were bought at 11470 to 12160 sats so I am around 4x (BTC wise) right now.
Sorry, i missed a zero on my sat value in my last post. I mean I bought at 41,000 and sold at around 80,000.

And a dip has definitely come. The coin is at 48,000 sat now.

I sold the coins at around 80,000 and bought into a coin that went up 3x, so it's all about perspective brother.

Yep but you just changed everything by a factor or 10 Wink

I was so jealous that you bought at that price (1/3 my entry)...now yours seem expensive (at 3x) compared to my entry. Wink
404  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [ARK] Ark Speculation on: February 12, 2018, 05:11:21 PM
I was a bit bored to I entered my ARK holdings in an excel worksheet to confirm if I am getting the projected 10% return from my delegate.

To my surprise, I am actually getting an average of 12.69% return per annum (coin count wise).  Since the added coins also earn coins, it has a compounding effect.  Lastly, the coin value also appreciates so win-win-win!!!   Grin

I did not knew that. Rewards we get automatically also stake? After every reward we get they get added to our stake?  I am new to staking so had not read or experiment much about it.   Well dont real matter. I got +0.76% in 29 days Tongue

Yes.

Your share is calculated based on how much coins you hold in that wallet every cycle.

Return percentage highly depends on the distribution program your delegate uses.  Choose your delegate well. Wink

according to you how far can red pulse fly?
is a buying token ?

With what is happening with the market, I honestly don't have any idea anymore.

Same goes with all cryptocurrency in general...even BTC.  I believe the good ones are here to stay and will grow.  How much is unknown.

408  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Good news ... Arizona Senate Passes Bill To Allow Tax Payments In Bitcoin on: February 11, 2018, 06:49:52 PM

https://cointelegraph.com/news/us-arizona-senate-passes-bill-to-allow-tax-payments-in-bitcoin

The Arizona Senate passed a bill on Feb. 8 to allow residents in the state to pay their taxes with cryptocurrencies, public records indicate.

The Senate Bill 1091, which intends to enable cryptocurrencies for tax payment, was introduced Jan. 10, 2018 and passed by the Senate Finance Committee by a 4-3 vote on Jan. 24. On Feb. 8, the Senate passed the bill by a 16-13 margin, with one no-vote.

The bill has now been sent to Arizona’s House of Representatives.

If the bill is adopted, Arizona would become the first state in the U.S. to accept cryptocurrency tax payments by the year of 2020, as stated on the public record. The bill would allow taxpayers of the state to use “a payment gateway, such as Bitcoin, Litecoin or any other cryptocurrency recognized by the department, using electronic peer-to-peer systems.”

According to the bill, the Arizona Department of Revenue, upon receiving payments in crypto for “tax and any interest and penalties”, would be obligated to convert the cryptocurrency payments to U.S. dollars within 24 hours.

Arizona State Republican Rep. Jeff Weninger, who co-sponsored the bill, said the tax measure intends to turn the state into a center of  “blockchain and digital currency technology in the future”. Referring to the tax bill, Weninger told Fox News this week:

"It's one of a litany of bills that we're running that is sending a signal to everyone in the United States, and possibly throughout the world, that Arizona is going to be the place to be for blockchain and digital currency technology in the future."

In September, 2017, Cointelegraph reported that the municipality of Chiasso, Switzerland will enable its residents to pay taxes in Bitcoin starting January 2018, following the lead of Zug.
409  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ICX to $100 in 2018 on: February 10, 2018, 07:32:55 PM
I'm seeing ICX to $100 in 2018, Korean Ethereum, strong team behind it.

What do you say about this?

I'm not sure will go up to $100 already is too pumped this coin . And also there are so many clone of ethereum on the market . One of the clone of ethereum is NEO which has almost same features with ethereum . Actually he is somewhere at $3-4 . I think the maximum price for this year that he can reach is somewhere at 20-30$.
You are talking BS about something  (NEO) that you know nothing about.  Sorry...just the truth.

Thoughts about AppCoins? Anyone invested on this project?

I am invested on it.
411  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Best projects on Cryptopia? on: February 10, 2018, 03:29:15 PM
I try to stay away from Cryptopia nowadays.  They have some okay coins but traffic is low.

At the risk of being lumped with the shillers...the only coin I hold at cryptopia now is XSPEC.  If it ever get listed at Binance or Bittrex, I will transfer my holdings in a heartbeat.  Can't recall which but I know there are 2 more coins I wanted to buy there (not listed elsewhere I am a member of) but don't want to move money around so I abandoned the idea.

413  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Sold my BTC during the dip (when it was less than $7k) on: February 10, 2018, 02:42:08 PM
It was a bad move. You could have bought the ICX now that the price has gone up.

Another expert...sorry I made 25% then. LOL
414  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Sold my BTC during the dip (when it was less than $7k) on: February 10, 2018, 02:23:01 PM
So many people do not think and are one track minded... sad.
415  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Sold my BTC during the dip (when it was less than $7k) on: February 10, 2018, 02:21:56 PM
The main thing is to learn from your mistakes. It was not necessary to sell everything, it was possible to sell only a part. Now you can only hope for the growth of the ICX.

LOL...learn from what I did...read the thread. Wink
416  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Best 2-month investment on: February 09, 2018, 04:47:17 PM
Investing on crypto with a short hard set deadline is not recommended.  It compounds your risk tremendously.

BEWARE!
417  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Long Term GEMS on: February 09, 2018, 04:40:31 PM
You should nit limit your search by price...rather possible % return. Wink

That said, you may start your research with these...
ELF, QSP, PRL, OCN, DBC, VOX, DRGN, ARDR, UTK, QLC, TEL, WABI, DENT, GTO, CND

I hold most of these personally.
418  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Best staking coins on: February 09, 2018, 03:39:53 PM
I stake ARK ( => ARK) and NEO ( => GAS)

For ARK, my return is about 12.64% (in ARK) per annum.

NEO is already covered above.

What I like about both is the fact that you do not need a running computer to stake.  Set it up and you are done...they both generate you income without doing anything.  No PC to run, no power to pay.  Pure profit.

420  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: CRYPTOPIA WITHDRAWAL FEE 2018 on: February 08, 2018, 08:53:22 PM
i want to ask, how much is the fee in cryptopia.? i want to make sure before to transfer my eth there, because i dont have any idea about that exchange.

for example:

i want to with withdraw .026 btc

what is the fee for that in cryptopia???

Off topic but my question is why Cryptopia?

I am a member but only have one coin there now.  Their coin selection has much to be desired, plus the traffic is dismal.  There are much better exchanges IMHO.
