The network could use some help. We've had ~61 wallets active in the past day, that's better than acceptable (and better than a lot of other coins) but wouldn't hurt if we had some high speed and highly available nodes for faster speed. If someone has access to some sort of VPS or dedicated server, it will be useful to setup an empty wallet, just to help the network sync faster. There are ~11m (5% of market share) coins staking, so our security is good (better than most other PoS coins).
That is not hard to arrange actually. We just need an empty wallet running on the VPS, that's all? I arranged for a couple of them, but it's good to have more. We need empty wallets running + open TCP 8333 and 60006 ports. I have turned on my AC wallet as well. We are still short of a long-term developer if we ever want to bring things forward.

I updated OP, mostly fixes to links, etc. We're having a good volume today, on both Cryptsy and Bter. Price is ~50% up.
Looks like your brief return is good for the price of AC.

We need to focus in our real resources for example, we cant make a new wallet but we have an artist trying to do things for the comunity, I sugest give him some work.
Layer, Can you design a "pet" for the community? Make a two or three proposals and asign them asiacoin accounts, we will vote donating (like in the exchanges) and you can have the money.
We can update the main page, we can translate it to some languajes.
We can star voting to be added in new exchanges.
Easy things we can do to improve the project and grow the community, with a larger community we will have more help and posibilities.
Agreed, the community consists of probably just a few fairly active individuals. I don't even consider myself active anymore unless a new group can be gathered to take over AsiaCoin. There are always people expressing interest to take over but never someone or a group that stepped forward to spearhead things. Finally, we need a long-term developer in the team in order to move forward. The developer should be someone proficient in C# which is the source code that the wallet was coded in.

We shall have (a) ACreativity Dashboard to help Us decide what we want for our beloved Asiacoin , I say Here is one good idea we should look into , and find developers interested to implement a version into our AC Code :: asap :: Worldcoin's Securities Exchange code open sourced submitted about a month ago https://github.com/bels/wse An exchange that would allow people to list different types of securities ( stock , bond ) . It is stable enough now for others in the community to play with . If you find a bug or have a suggestion please let the author know by using the " Issues " area of the github page . If you have any questions please ask . If you decide to use this code to start an exchange you do not owe the author anything nor is he liable for anything . It is currently setup to give an adjustable percentage of each company created to the host of the exchange , so , when they issue dividends , you would also get dividends or you could just sell your shares for you to make money . Current Features : Creating Virtual Companies — Depositing/Withdrawing WDC — Trading Securities — Posting Notes & News about your virtual company — Graphing past trades — Issuing dividends What do you think ? Please , feel free to participate in the creative process , it may prove rewarding in so many ways … Better to focus on the wallet development and getting some retailers who are willing to accept Asiacoin first. AC, like any other altcoin, is worthless unless people can buy something with it. Given that coinpayments delisted AsiaCoin. We lost that bit of edge there. It is important to have developers who can further develop the wallet to push through the POS schedule to reduce the amount of AC flowing into the market. you can use asiacoin for instance on bidcoind.com. we could also ask if bitcoincommodities.com would accept AC. last but not least, i would also accept AC for graphic design and translation services. Maybe you can link us to your portfolio and provide some ballpark figures for graphics work?

I do not understand why the founding members went and gave it. It would be nice if they returned and help Asiacoin.
We were not the founding members, we were just members of the community and stepped in to save AsiaCoin but without long-term developers, altcoin projects will become stagnant. When the project stagnate, the foundation becomes less active, kinda like the aftermath of an adrenaline rush.

Great to see you all back ! It is true we need to organise to make all necessary improvements and advances . I hope maestro comes back , too . If not , it would be great to have access to the donation wallet . We should have some kind of multi-signature feature that allows several members to sign … , and , if enough agree ( e.g. 3 of 5 ) , assign and pay out completed bounties & projects . We should implement such a management tool into our wallet service so all kind of interests that people might have in common could find a useful and swift solution that guarantees more likely a continuity without losing asiacoins that have a purpose . Speaking of that , of purposes and coins , I got an exciting idea rushing through my mind , a vague vision … will ponder & be back later … Just bought a bit more dangling asiacoins , I suggest you do the same ! Chances are not high in my opinion that I will get any reply. If not, the next step is to rope in 1-2 developers who can continue CoolGecko's work on the AC wallet. His last commit was in late July 2014 on the branch that is largely based on Blackcoin.

@ORIN this is from an older post if you want i can make changes. and yes, i still do accept AC for graphic design services I have trying to get in touch with Maestro01 to gain access to the donation address we set up for AC. It should have a considerable amount of AC left for bounties.

Looks good. You might want to move the coin logo to the layer above the water pattern.

Hi community, I am kinda back from the long silence. It has been a long few months with the arrival of my baby and passing of a family member. The rest of the dev team pretty much fell silence after the last blockchain bug. Even though I am one of the core Foundation members, I am not a developer. Without developers, it is next to impossible to further develop AsiaCoin or even bring things forward. At the moment, I still have control over the domain, Reddit, website access but not the hosting. I can try to contact the rest of the Foundation members to get access from them. The source code is open source and available for any interested developer to work on. The main issue is whether we can assemble a new and reliable team if the community is still interested.
Hello ORiN, Congratulations on your baby! At the same time my sympathies for your loss of a family member. I appreciate you reaching out to the community and welcome back. I have created and maintained a channel here: ##asiacoin on freenode IRC. It has a tipbot running with a ticker that shows price at the exchanges, does jokes, rains out AC. Please reach out to any and all foundation members. I will reach out to the team with an email but looking at their bitcointalk profiles, most of them are already inactive. We do have a Slack communication network for coordinating marketing efforts. It has fallen into disuse but can be reused for new Foundation members. That said, it is still paramount to have developers who are willing to commit to the project. Otherwise, it is just another wild goose chase. Some important milestones that AsiaCoin has to fulfill before it can be taken seriously again. - Implementation of the PoS schedule
- Rejection of the 0.7.2 wallets
- Projects that uses AsiaCoin as a form of digital currency

Nautical . a. a pile, cluster of piles, or buoy to which a vessel may be moored in open water. b. a cluster of piles used as a fender, as at the entrance to a dock. c. a pudding fender at the nose of a tugboat or on the side of a vessel. 4. Since when do we have a dolphin symbol on the AsiaCoin wallet? I personally haven't seen that before and I am running both Windows and Mac wallets.

One of the block explorers seem to be down. Please use http://chainz.cryptoid.info/ac/ for now. I personally prefer that as well. Please keep donating as we are still well short of the target.

This seems to be a pool operation instead of a multipool. The coins are being mined separately.

We are in need of funds to pay the bounty for the multipool integration. The bounty for CoinKing will be 1 BTC. BTC Donations: 1FjfP4pRgsjYPQUX5Uep9HMfFw6stsE9G3 AsiaCoin Donations: AXuMxpakwcxcnPtzkL6GNmp54PRc7Zxb2g Please donate generously!

Can someone put up the PoS interest schedule in terms of blocks and estimated dates in the original post and on the AC website?
The link to the bitcointalk post is just in number of months and a bit confusing. For example, I believe we are in Year 1 and Month 3-4 or 80%. But someone new may think we are currently in Year 1 (2014), Month 7-8 (July-August). And I'm sure most would want to know the exact block cutoff times for each PoS phase.
I believe the start of Year 1, Month 3-4 was on block 72,000. So how would I calculate the next start for Month 5-6 knowing each block is 60 sec? Does one month equal 30 days or 31 days or is it just an estimation? My guess would be that the code uses a fixed number of blocks which would approximate two months. If so, what is that value?
I'm sure a lot of coin owners would be bummed if they staked one day late or one block late thinking they were still in the previous PoS phase.
Thanks.
It is actually accurate but the blockchain issue earlier caused us to backtrack on the schedule. We are incorporating a new POS schedule in the next version of the wallet. Everything is based on blocks and given the block time being 60 seconds. It is safe to say that we are on a 30-day month count. We are not affected by calendar months. As for staking, not everyone will stake exactly after 14 days, there is an element of luck but you will not lose out any stake interest even if you stake late.

i was a bag holder.... theres no point trying to keep some shit coin going... cut your losses and make your money back
if not then good luck with everything and i hope for all your sakes this coin can recover
PEACE
I wouldn't say that AsiaCoin can climb up to above 2,000 sats at the moment. However, given the high staking interest, AC is doing fairly well holding its value. And this price prediction is based on what kind of crystal globe? Please read carefully. I wasn't even doing a price prediction.

What about a kickstarter campaign or something like that?
We still dont have our true first wallet, only patches from old dev; still too soon to say Asia Coin is dead, it seems really live for me.
I trust and support Asia Coin.
Actually, both versions from 2.0 are not from the old dev. That scammer already ran off long ago. If you are talking about a new wallet that is coded from scratch, it will be quite unlikely. However, the dev team is working on a source code rebase to move away from the original source code.
