Hi Guys, are old Asia coins still valid? I think I have some in my old wallet thx
Should be no problem , just update to the current wallet : make a backup before you start . Btw. I noticed today that AC Difficulty is up significantly , now more than 0.1... good sign . Enjoy . The best is yet to come with enough faith united : Total AC Revival

That was prior to the community takeover. AsiaCoin is now clean...

Anyone can explain how AC is expected to stake in 2015 and later ? Does high-stake period of ,,100% per year'' has already ended ?

thanks for staking info. agree developers + contacts most important some coins ( which similarly lost a lot of valuation ) are getting kind of denominations most often 1:10 AC could get 1:100 denomination ( in form of another new coin ? ) seems coins with total coin supply of around 2 million have generally better market cap https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=841741.0;all noblecoin https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=907490.0;all cinnicoin with a good developer a lot of new projects would be possible another ( easy for a developer ? ) would be wallet translation into more languages ( chinese ! )

It worked for other coins like C2. We would need to decide on what type of coin to swap to though. Should it be PoW, PoS, or a PoW/PoS combination?

thanks for your comments coin swap/denomination could be very powerful but now our wallet is surprisingly stable many coins have problems with wallets crashing or forking and so on changing into some new untested wallet we should really do only ( and very quickly ) if this wallet has real problems for instance ( of course this is example within very strong old coin ) lastly seen comment of yasinlee from litecoin that litecoin does not need now any development last time due to - probably - some good contacts of someone - asiacoin got this wallet seemingly for free from some good devs could not happen next time if we would try to use coin swap mostly for marketing - it should be obviously together with all other smaller development work which is missing since months as - for example - -reinstate android ticker app which was closed after mintpal folded -put some work and design and ideas into official channels twitter facebook reddit and so on

We should focus to improve our own codebase , our network and difficulty has proven to work well enough . Asiacoin is a potentially powerful brand-product-service , if we build around it consistently we will emerge with our own culture and economy . Our PoS scheme is good enough , why change what works ?' It is against commonly known and principled design rules . Let's change and improve only what needs to be , to enhance and expand the experience so people will actually trade in it . We should focus on small private and merchant needs , escrow and useful market place solutions , security and privacy in mind at all times . All ideas are welcome , Asia is great , let's use our opportunities to project ourselves accordingly .

The network could use some help. We've had ~61 wallets active in the past day, that's better than acceptable (and better than a lot of other coins) but wouldn't hurt if we had some high speed and highly available nodes for faster speed. If someone has access to some sort of VPS or dedicated server, it will be useful to setup an empty wallet, just to help the network sync faster. There are ~11m (5% of market share) coins staking, so our security is good (better than most other PoS coins).

We need to focus in our real resources for example, we cant make a new wallet but we have an artist trying to do things for the comunity, I sugest give him some work.
Layer, Can you design a "pet" for the community? Make a two or three proposals and asign them asiacoin accounts, we will vote donating (like in the exchanges) and you can have the money.
We can update the main page, we can translate it to some languajes.
We can star voting to be added in new exchanges.
Easy things we can do to improve the project and grow the community, with a larger community we will have more help and posibilities.

That is not hard to arrange actually. We just need an empty wallet running on the VPS, that's all?

Agreed, the community consists of probably just a few fairly active individuals. I don't even consider myself active anymore unless a new group can be gathered to take over AsiaCoin. There are always people expressing interest to take over but never someone or a group that stepped forward to spearhead things. Finally, we need a long-term developer in the team in order to move forward. The developer should be someone proficient in C# which is the source code that the wallet was coded in.

That is not hard to arrange actually. We just need an empty wallet running on the VPS, that's all? I arranged for a couple of them, but it's good to have more. We need empty wallets running + open TCP 8333 and 60006 ports.

I updated OP, mostly fixes to links, etc. We're having a good volume today, on both Cryptsy and Bter. Price is ~50% up.
